Now that Max is just over one year old, we are really beginning to get the hang of things when it comes to mealtime. We primarily use the baby led weaning approach, allowing Max to feed himself and enjoy our meals alongside us, but he also enjoy smoothies and spoon-feeding too! Whatever method you use, the important thing is to get Baby fed!
As a breastfed, plant-based baby, Max enjoys a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, and healthy fats! On days when we don't have anywhere to be, I love to spend extra quality time with my little man, and it's been such a joy and a rewarding experience getting to figure out how to nourish his growing body! I hope these meals give you inspiration and helpful ideas for feeding your little ones!

I was thinking the same. My little guy is a little behind Max age wise and would rather have his bottle ( not breast fed because we had supply and a stress issues) unless it is tomatoes, mushrooms or chia and coconutmilk pudding. He will pick and nibble but after about 10-20 bites he starts playing and throwing food and then tries to escape his chair. I was surprised at how much Max was actually eating vs my Liam. I am going to keep trying for longer and more productive weening now.
Some days are better than others with Max! Keep trying!!

He's too cute! So glad you are setting him up for healthy life. My nephews always refused to eat the meats and processed foods and they supplement with green smoothies. Maybe kids just want the fruits and veggies???

This is great!!! My daughter is allergic to dairy and we only splurge on meats for special occasions so this is absolutely perfect for me!
Respect for smart people like you who do not feed meat to their kids but teach them that every living being has the right to live. Hopefully this can prove to some people that we don’t need meat since birth.

Loved this video! Would enjoy seeing more of what you feed Max on a daily basis. I have a 1 year old myself, and while we’re not vegan, I LOVE a lot of the recipes in your videos and on your blog, and so does our baby boy! They keep us eating healthy with more veggies and nutrients! Have been drinking the green smoothie for the last 6 months, and it’s been such an awesome addition to my mornings. Hi there! My little boy is turning 1 soon and my questions are, do you continue giving iron-enriched baby cereal into his 2nd year? otherwise, what do you give him as breakfast besides oatmeal or amaranth porridge? Thank you! love your videos! :)
I just got Lovevery for my 10 month old and my three year old! Super excited and it makes playing with them easier because I know what to focus on! Max is a tiny little boy at 13 months, my 10 month old is 22 pounds so I can’t baby wear him anymore, it kills my neck and shoulders.

I love that you shared this! I myself also loved front and back packs for my children. And introducing the foods that we are eating is the best way to feed them moving to solids. I used an oster blender with an 8 oz cup back in the day and a table top push through grinder, but boy I wish I'd had my vitamix back then! :D

How I miss breastfeeding ! My son self weaned at 13 months because I was already pregnant and I think my milk changed 😔my daughter nursed for 18 months and it’s such a wonderful thing and great bond. Good job momma !!

Juicing can be very beneficial but I don’t have the ultimate answer to that question!

Do you know any good formula brands? I’m unable to breast feed. Right now I’m using Similac for my son. I will probably keep with it but if I can find better for the next kid I’d love that.
Your best bet for plant-based formulas will be USDA organic soy-based formula. You can switch to Else Nutrition Toddler Formula (which is soy-free) at 12 months, but I don't know anything like it for under 1 year! If you do try it, use ERINELSE25 for 25% off! bit.ly/3mIIjVH

Honestly it pretty much happened on its own! Max co-sleeps with us at night but he’s pretty good at wearing himself out and taking naps on his own during the day!

Yes , you can find amaranth as a seed , it looks more like a small chopped grain
Yes! We also use whole amaranth often! It cooks like quinoa but is much smaller!

I enjoy all of your videos and it 's the first time ever I make a comment on a UA-cam channel or elsewhere! Thanks so much for sharing ideas and giving me inspiration! I am a mother of a 7 month old boy and although I feed him both meat and eggs -our paidiatrician is very strict on veganism and unfortunately we can't find any doctor who supports this lifestyle- I try to keep it to minimum like once or twice a week (doctor's recommendation is daily consumption of animal products!!!). I really need you to share the knowledge to make sure my baby gets all the nutrients he needs!
I wanted to ask you what is your opinion on babies watching TV (or anything on a screen). So far we haven't exposed our son to any screens (I read we should wait until the age of 2) but this comes with a great cost...! I see Max enjoys a movie every now and then and I am so confident you do the best for him! Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

Thank you! The porridge would be a good bet, or you can also make brown rice porridge too! Pumpkin purée is another good soft food that is high in iron! There are lots of options!
