In the last match, everyone is freaking out about Flash's scan and his star sense. You can clearly hear a scan right before the one that catches the guardians. If you scan and see a greater spire, I feel like you would definitely want to scan in that gap right beside your natural for guardians. Since we didn't see where the first scan was you can't say for sure whether or not Flash saw the greater spire, but I think that's a much more reasonable explanation than just a random scan at the perfect time
fully agree that the scan probably wasn't random, but there was no reason for Soulkey to morph his Guardians over terrain when he could have done it in the dead space between land; even if Flash scans and knows Guardians are there, he had no wraiths at that time to deal with them yet, and Soulkey could have dealt quite a bit of damage. if Soulkey hadn't made this fatal mistake he could have had a shot at beating Flash..
@nervxxx In a fast-paced game like the 5th game, mistakes always happen. What separates Flash from other players is not just a sense of game, but also a secured playing style. Through 5 games, Flash didn't make any mistake. He is never as sloppy as other players like Mong, although Mong's macro is also outrageous. You can make any assumption in a game like this, but yeah, the key of winning in a gosu-level like Flash and SK is trying to exploit other player's mistake.
It wasn't a random scan. He was obviously looking for guardians, and you're right he might've scanned the greater spire right before. The star sense is that he managed to figure things out just in time. He could've used his scans somewhere else but something may have tipped him off to make him suspicious. For example, before the scans he saw the mutas fly into that area but then they didn't harass the natural which you imagine they'd do if they flew over there, so he might've had an idea something was up. People freak out because he figured out Soulkey's plan before it could be a surprise, and so much hinges on the surprise. It's like the 9-pool in the beginning, he figured out something was wrong with just enough time to make a wall with his SCVs. If he took even 2 seconds longer he could've gotten screwed.
That 4pool though. This was no accident, he knew Flash would proxy rax. His overlord was on the path of one possible location and the drone was trying to find the other possible location. That was an insane prediction. He even properly guessed where the rax would be since that's where he sent the overlord, the drone was the backup in case he was wrong.
I love Flash but, Soulkey was so strongh!! And the game2... What???? 4 pool Flash??? Big up Soulkey you are the best!!! 50:40 Lol the face of Flash!! GG both of you guys!!!
What happenes if you put an Irradiated defiler into an overlord? Does he die inside the overlord? Also any thoughts on keeping a few defilers inside overlords so they cant get picked off before the push? I know its costly, but losing all these defilers for free is costly as well.
ohhh of course he did. I knew there was no way this could be an original idea! I'm just surprised we don't see more zergs try it against this SK Style Terran gameplay were seeing a lot of when the zergs still go for the defiler tech.
I think zergs never recearch overlord speed + drop ability vs SK style because it's expensive(200-200drop+150-150speed) unless you use drops for something else then pocket defilers, but who drops on top of bio? XD But vs mech your idea is very good, Jaedong used it in 2010 MSL; also Jangbi uses pocket high templars to storm ^_^
I don't understand how Soulkey didn't have more scourges to protect that island. What else was Flash going to do after the failed sunken bust? And that wasn't even a surprise, Flash always goes for more dropships when a 1st attempt failed.
How come Flash did not mech in game three? I generally like Artosis but he needs to elaborate on things like this, since mech seem to be the dominating TvZ these days. Anyone can explain? Was he taking a dive?
He never got his third gas up or gained any map control so tech switching to mech would have been suicidal. its very immobile and SK had map control. he needs to mnm mobility to take bases and pressure SK.
oooh i apologize i thought you meant game 4 where he lost. He probably figured that there was no point in risking a tech switch when he was so ahead to begin with. No need to stop doing whats working. SK fell behind and couldnt deal with the fb drops and flash knew tnat
It's so funny, this other caster has Artosis using his ending his sentences the same way, he doesn't realize he's doing it lol. Where's tasteless when ya need him
Damn, that unlucky Guardian morphing in the last game, discovered by Flash. Soulkey had a good chance there to at least kill some SCV and good amount of marines. But why morph them there while left edge had some areas of literally open space with no terrain under. You can't make little mistakes against Terran and especially against Flash.
yup. but as you said, he had a choice on where to morph so it's not 'unlucky', more 'unfotunate'. It was a complete mistake on Soulkey's part; if he had morphed them in that dead space, the only way Flash could deal with them even if he had intel (via a scan) was irradiate (he had no wraiths at that time), and Soulkey could have had a fighting chance of wrecking the expansion and being in a good shape in the game. Unfortunately Soulkey handed Flash the game by morphing his guardians in such a precarious position, this was more Soulkey's mistake than Flash's 'godliness'
Yeah that spot under the terran natural expansion has been the go-to spot to morph and start your guardian push on this map for zergs when they do this 2 base guardian build. Amazing game sense by flash of course, but it really was no coincidence that the scan + push happened during the morph. He knew exactly what was going on and how he needed to stop it.
Yeah, it felt like point of no return. Could he just cancel the morphing ASAP and fly to that dead zone with no terrain and either return to base or make extra scourges and attack? I think yes. But Flash took him by surprise...
If you build 3rd hatch on 3rd base, if it gets scouted, you wont have enough resources/larvae to defend all three locations. With the usual setup, you only need to defend the entry of your natural. :-)
I will not watch BW games anymore, and will never buy or download it again since they never will never nerf science vessels. and i will suggest that people not to care about SC1.
These last matches in ASL have been fantastic! I'm now adding Seoul to my list of Need-to-visit cities!

Even right before he did the scan I just had the feeling that Flash knew that was coming and his scan just confirmed it.

One more thing, Soukey got lucky scount on game 2, so he can defet the flash strategy then Flash got lucky.scan on game 5. That a equal for both.
Game 1: 27:06
Game 2: 48:21
Game 3: 59:06
Game 4: 1:22:18
Game 5: 1:51:21 gg!

Phạm Đăng Quang gracias daddy

BW is back and better than ever :D
Fantastic series! So excited for the final!
50:40
LOOK HOW WIDE FLASH'S EYES JUST GOT
At the end of the intro where they are all standing against flash gives me serious chills til this day
I love Flash but, Soulkey was so strongh!!
And the game2... What???? 4 pool Flash??? Big up Soulkey you are the best!!!
50:40 Lol the face of Flash!!
GG both of you guys!!!
i know Soulkey is a great player, but i just cant root for him when he looks like a grandma with that haircut
Serious nerd chills after this series gg
Soulkey! how could you morph them there? and why not cancel and morph again at another place where no ground at least
You guys need to add. There are very few casters who always add to the cast.
incredible scan, sickest ive ever seen ....
50:36 priceless
48:40 "kekekeke," Artosis
Why did FlaSh give up in game number 4? I can see he was at a disadvantage, but didn't he still have a fighting chance?
What happenes if you put an Irradiated defiler into an overlord? Does he die inside the overlord?
Also any thoughts on keeping a few defilers inside overlords so they cant get picked off before the push? I know its costly, but losing all these defilers for free is costly as well.
Yeah, the unit dies inside.
Seems like a cool idea.
It's called "pocket defiler" :) Jaedong already invented it.
ohhh of course he did. I knew there was no way this could be an original idea!
I'm just surprised we don't see more zergs try it against this SK Style Terran gameplay were seeing a lot of when the zergs still go for the defiler tech.

it dies dude I just tried it :D I was so curious I had to see
What happens if you pick up a irradiated defiler (or any other irradiated unit) with an overlord?
It will keep taking damage, and even affect any other bio units inside the transport.
Cool! Seems balanced! Thanks
I don't understand how Soulkey didn't have more scourges to protect that island. What else was Flash going to do after the failed sunken bust? And that wasn't even a surprise, Flash always goes for more dropships when a 1st attempt failed.
Wow I really enjoy the Advertisement Star League...
Soulkey is my favorite player, but he had to take one for the team this time so that shine could show us in the finals that god isn't real.
watched Flash's FPVOD, he uses completely hotkeys to build bios, that's how he can 5 rax bios non-stop
interesting
have you fpvod of this game?
visit flash youtubes channel
Just replay, not FPVOD
search "Flash FPVOD TvZ"
what a game by soulkey, shine will avenge you boy
How come Flash did not mech in game three? I generally like Artosis but he needs to elaborate on things like this, since mech seem to be the dominating TvZ these days. Anyone can explain? Was he taking a dive?

whats the song at the end of the final match?
bloodbound - tears of a dragonheart
WHAAAT The SCAN!! I thought he was DEAD!
thanks for casting

WHY WOULD EGG ON THE FLOOR IN A 10 YEAR OLD GAME?
thats wont help. flash expands so fast and had better econony
I feel like Flash quit game one 2 fast soulkey has no econ and he has 12 scv and marine perfdct micro and you live you gotta try
The first guardians, man-o-man, could have rolled Flash with a simple better choice of morph location. So simple with such drastic consequences.
These commentators aren't talking to eachother it's weird. I guess that must be a part of the reason they arent together anymore.
Sorry that SoulKey did not win, not luck a little bit... amazing games, Flash stil mega Zilla )
Soulkey got lucky at map 2 then flash have one at map 5.
@iM HaZY yikes
soulkey must be the fastest teching zerg
I don't understand why zerg now builds 3 hatch and only 2 resources. Before the opening is 3 hatch with 3 resources and the game leads to macro
If you build 3rd hatch on 3rd base, if it gets scouted, you wont have enough resources/larvae to defend all three locations. With the usual setup, you only need to defend the entry of your natural. :-)
Flash! AAAaahh! He's a miracle! dun dun dun dun
Omg... the 4º game its amazing
In game 2 be like
Flash : I'll be fine. Unless he build a craaazy 4 pool,
SK : hold my lings
2:03:00 omniscient omnipotent
"BLEH BLEH BLEH, I CAN'T SPEAK" -Artosis
Dammit Bisu it could've been perfect ;(
What could be more perfect than the finals and third place series we are going to get?
"Pentultimate"?
Penultimate.
Penultimate isn't even the right word to use there, even without the mispronunciation.
For someone called Rapid, he speaks really slowly

Domination of Flash start making me angry. I hope Shine will win this show.
It's just the natural order of things - grass grow, sun shines, birds fly and Flash kicks ass. Everything goes as it should go.
Been watching BW since 2008. You better get used to it.
cheekydwarf I agree
I will not watch BW games anymore, and will never buy or download it again since they never will never nerf science vessels. and i will suggest that people not to care about SC1.
