I've heard that from so many bands, how once they really started playing live and getting success, traveling and so on, they literally didn't have time to keep up on what was out there. Some bands wanted to just s little and would actually plan an hour or so together they could try and take in what else was going on. Only other way was when they toured with other bands. I can remember Joe Walsh talking about that, how he couldn't stop hearing music in his head and writing it down and trying to create something. He would say it wasn't because there wasn't amazing stuff out there, he just had so little time, but said he and the Eagles would could somebody we would come into the studio and say you'll gotta listen to this. And he said he would always want to play something along with them. Guys like this are full throttle into their influences, but once they get going on their own, they become so busy and focused on n their music, recording and touring, I doubt they'd hear a fire alarm at that point.

Thankful for what Eddie Van halen brought this world!🎸👑🕯🕊🌹
I've heard that from so many bands, how once they really started playing live and getting success, traveling and so on, they literally didn't have time to keep up on what was out there.
Clapton wasn't his hero, he just doesn't wanna admit that Hendrix and Page were who inspired him. His playing sounds alot more like them than Clapton.
Derek and the Dominos had Clapton and Duane Allman, I don’t know how you can forget that album.
Rest in peace Eddie Van Halen 🙏✝️✡️❤️😢🎸🎶🎵🎼🥁🎤🎹
You could tell he got emotional talking about his dad. Turned his back to put the guitar back then talks about clapton.
The world lost a bright light .. When he passed - R.I.P. Eddie 😔❤️🙏🏻
MUSICAL HERO....MY FATHER.
I understand exactly what he was saying because I remember the change back then too, 3 piece power bands were so clean and yet powerful.
