What a travesty. Setting it ten years later means our previous protagonists might be too old to be of any use, and any major plot threads that existed soon after DA:I are now long over. The Hero MUST have returned from the cure quest by now. The Champion or Warden must have gone to Weisshaupt and straightened things out there by now. The one left in the Fade with the Nightmare must have died or escaped by now. The (ex-)Inquisitor can't still be of much use after a decade out of work or just working as an honor guard. And what ever happened with the red lyrium idol, or Meredith, or Merrill and her mirror? All these things are basically forgotten in the past now. This is as close to a world reset as BioWare could get without actually destroying Thedas.
I wonder what Vincent Price would think of Bioware stealing his face for Emmerich. Given the movies he starred in, I think he would approve of the character.
I understand why people don’t like the selection of music, but i have always enjoyed Dragon Age’s splashes of contemporary music. I am a pretty big Florence + the Machine fan, and the rendition in DA2 of “I’m Not Calling You a Liar” is beautiful. But such music isn’t typically used for promo stuff that i remember
I;m so excited for Harding I LOOOOOVE HER!!!! And your predicitons for Lucanis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I know how you feel on the prediction coming true. The same happened with me when I theorized Meredith's soul could have survived by continuing to exist inside the red lyrium. I think Lucanis was the only Dragon Age style character in that trailer. Everyone else looked goofy, and I hated the trailer. Too foggy to where you couldn't see any detail, bad art style, bad music. Like, they got Hans Zimmer for the game. They couldn't get him to do the trailer? And the characters just don't grab me. Not feeling any of them except Lucanis, who fits the Dragon Age style as a Crow. Also, you forgot to point out Francesca in the background of Lucanis' spot. :\ Rook reminded me of the merchant from Resident Evil 4. But I liked how Harding was eyeing him.
@@DarthShadie Well in your video I would say 4:10 is the first best visual of her. And then again at 4:11 as the guy running looks back and to the left (back... and to the left... BACK... and to the left...). Err... HIS left that is. Then, after Lucanis grabs the guy and spins around with him at 4:13 you can see her again as she seems to be looking at those purple lanterns at the market stall (right side of screen). Just look for the orange hair and the green robes. She is in the background each time. More detailed description: At 4:10 in the background to the left of Lucanis' head. Orange hair gold shoulder guard. Her hair has two layers, with the top in a puled back bun and the rest of her hair flowing down against her back. At 4:11 the running man looks back and thinks "daaaang, is that Francesca?", as you can see the orange hair flowing down against her signature green robe with gold trim. Francesca is on the right side of the screen. Then at 4:13 you can see her on the right side of the screen in the background as Lucanis snaps the guy's neck. Orange hair, green and gold robes, and pink clothing underneath. Although the clip seems to cut out a little early. 4:24 is the longer version of that clip and Francesca can be seen more clearly on the right side. Oh, that also might be her at 4:27 in the bottom left. From our perspective she is directly underneath Lucanis' right-hand dagger. Maybe she is looking for the Crows who killed her brother? :D
Ok, I see the red head. I suppose it could be Francesca. I think the more accurate thing here is your love of her and I totally get that. Look, if she is in the game, I'll be happy. She's a great character and deserves more attention and love. And she is still in the hat.
@@DarthShadie I base it on her clothing style and color scheme as well. But yeah that would be cool if she was in it. I hope the hat coughs her up soon. I could see her being represented by the Justice card.
I’m very interested in Varric’s involvement, I’m still thinking about how the “crimson knight” is waiting for Hira in Kirkwall. All of the companions are very enticing to me already so I’m excited to romance the whole cast ❤ Thank you for sharing your thoughts and excitement! Can’t wait for the gameplay reveal later today!! Also, (pure speculation) I’m only going off the vibes and concepts in the trailer but I’m going to assume Bellara will be a mix of Sera and Solas where she’s bubbly but also has a sophisticated side when situations call for it. Also (pt. 2) I heard a theory that vallaslin are drawn differently between different clans but I can’t recall if that’s technically true. It sure would make sense given how the designs change. Question for you: based on what’s been revealed about backgrounds, which do you think you’ll choose for your first character? (6 faction backgrounds that our companions are based on, minus Harding) ((Shadow Dragons, Lords of Fortune, Crows, Mournwatcher, Veil Jumper, and Grey Warden))
I think you're right. Like, I vaguely remember reading something about that a while ago, for the vallaslin. That would explain it. I'm either going to be a Necromancer, whatever class Neve is (Siccari) or Crow. I want to romance Lucanis first. Will I do it as a fem mage or ale mage for angst, or as a fellow Crow? Decisions, decisions.
3:19 To be honest, i'm a bit disappointed to see *Neve* as a companion. The one side media character that i really wanted to see, was *Vaea* from Knight Errant. 🙁🙁🙁
@@DarthShadie Yeah. Not to mention that most of the characters look too goofy and cartoonish. Emmrich straight up looks like a Disney villain. The only ones that looked decent were Harding, Lucanis and Varric.

I also predicted that Solas would say something like he took necessary action to prevent total destruction. Currently I'm predicting that if the veil didn't come down, the world would be wiped out by the blight because the wardens have been severely weakened in the previous games. @@DarthShadie I think Solas's fate will be sealed depending on the decision we made at the end of trespasser. Either way it goes, the voice we heard at the end of the teaser on dragon age day was most definitely Elgri'nan and he's not going to be an easy fight lol
Oh, you think that was Elgar'nan and not a Magister? "The peace and comfort of my reign." That's a good possibility, actually. He is NOT going to be an easy fight. It is nice to see a more positive take on Veilguard. I have doubts about the game and they grew after this trailer. The trailer just seemed like an Disney MCU movie trailer and some of the characters looks weird. Some leaks said that the characters looks better in the actual game. The feel of the trailer is so upbeat when the end of the world is likely and coming nearer every day. We went from the end of Trespasser to this upbeat trailer. Like what you felt at 11:50 or so. I love the Dragon Age series. Origins is my favorite game of all time. So, I am really hoping that Veilguard is amazing. Especially, since EA might shut down Bioware if Veilguard doesn't do well since both Andromeda and Anthem were both financial flops and Veilguard might be Bioware's third strike.
I understand. I did see the leak and it looks much better. I will watch the gameplay later too and assess that. This trailer is CGI and it should gave been made clearer because it does not reflect the essence of the game that will be delivered. Kala Elizabeth mentioned that BioWare should have released the gameplay first so that fans can see the actual tone of the game.
@@DarthShadie Yeah. I watched the gameplay and it looked good. The Inquisition dialogue wheel came back. Which I don't like since I want to see what my character will say instead of the tone of what they say.
I get that. I don't mind the DAI dialogue wheel, but it does hint at spoilers for the responses, which is less realistic to the approach of replying and then discovering the characters' reactions to that.
