They seem to have grown up now and are treating Floor better. If they treated Tarja like they treat Floor then maybe things would have been different.....
Oh wow, this is wonderful!! Thank you so much for that upload!! :))))) I saw my first Nightwish show in the very same year, 2000, one month earlier. And I was totally touched and amazed especially by Tarja. Sinergy was the support band, with Marco Hietala on bass. I had not known Nightwish very long, maybe 2 months, before I went to the gig. Had listened to the Wishmaster album a few times and was especially in love with the title track and "She Is My Sin". .... I was so very happy when they finally played Wishmaster as last encore. :))))) I also remember when Tarja asked if anyone remembers their first album, probably she asked the same question on the whole tour. And my first Nightwish gig was the only time I ever asked someone for an autograph!! After the show I waited (together with some others) at the backstage exit. When Tarja came out, she wore a thick hooded jacket and carried a big bag, and nobody except me recognized her, so I was the only one who went after her. She walked up the stairs and out to the street towards the nightliner all alone (only with me at her back, HAHA) and I told her that the show had been wonderful and asked her to sign my ticket. She just said a short "Thank you" and was totally shy and cute. :))))))))

Love how Tarja sounded here. She was also perfect on Century Child and some parts of Once, but on Once you can already hear her using too much of her throat at times. When used once in a while, it can be a fun effect and add a lot to a song (White Night Fantasy is a great example of how this can add character), but unfortunately she went completely overboard with it and nowadays she sings so throat-centered that it's just ugly. Her soft palate is constantly lowered which is already very incorrect and reduces your voice to a very limited vibrato capability, forcing you to wobble instead, and a very limited harmonic sequence, making your voice flat/piercing, but she goes beyond that and sings in the mask so intensely and constantly that it feels as if her voice is coming through her nostrils. Forward singing without proper throat space also shrinks your range, which you can very easily spot in her lack of ability to hit the high note in the Phantom of the Opera shows she's doing with Marco now. That's not age. That's improper technique. 90 year olds can hit such notes with proper technique (a prime example is Angelo Loforese which you can find plenty of videos of, here he is, 92 years old ua-cam.com/video/uwSumko5s_g/v-deo.html) A real shame, I have no clue what she sees in this extremely throat-y singing, it just ends up sounding like forced croaking and takes most of the expression out of her otherwise beautiful singing. Just listened to her perform Sleeping Sun a few years ago. It's empty and it's cold. Check out this (ua-cam.com/video/uFZSv-_wBxc/v-deo.html) video of her at 15 years old in '93, she sounds way more balanced that now in '24, with way more even frequencies. Still a very focused voice (a good stimme, as the Germans would say), which can be easily spotted by the difference in vocal intensity between her and her teacher, yet with none of the croaking.

Cant believe im just finding this now. Thank you for uploading this. This weekend was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Was a mini-vaca wandering the city meeting others going to this show, & the panhandler with the clown nose.
If there are any Red Wing fans who were at this show... goood times
Que relíquia
Thank you for this. I'm new to Nightwish already fallen in love with Tarja's voice and this NW era. Listening through this album and picking out the songs l like best. Kinslayer and Pharoah sails to Orion so far....
As a listener of 1998, I will write to you that this is the real Nightwish and now it’s a pathetic parody that I won’t listen to.
Then only real metal fans listened to Nightwish, but now every dog knows about them.
@@ikafox-hb3lh It's so sad how the guys treated her like dirt then stabbed her in the back. I'm glad for Marko and that he manned up and apologised to her later. If they had been better men we could have had Nightwish going from glory to glory and when Tarja moved on it would have been with happy tears all around maybe to Floor for instance.
Don't forget how Annette was treated in addition to being in the impossible position of 'interloper' like Tarja they stabbed in the back by sacking her whilst she was pregnant.
This is one of the best comments they have left on this channel, I thank you for sharing this beautiful anecdote, by the way I am curious to know in which concert was... 😉👍
@@Metallwish Hi and thank you :))))))) The concert I talked about was on october 26th/2000 at Planet Music in Vienna/Austria :))))) Of course I still have the ticket with Tarjas autograph on the backside. I saw them 2 more times later (2001 and 2002) and then never again. But I will attend Tarjas concert in Vienna in April 2020 :))))))) And I need to say it again, you made me really really happy with this upload - definitely one of the most precious uploads (for me) ever done on youtube, bringing back wonderful memories :))))))
Oh my, were you lucky. Can't imagine the feeling of seeing them at that point in their careers. And specially with their golden line up.
@@LigeiaNoire Hi :))) Yes, it's long ago, but unforgettable, and I am still glad about it :)) That time was their peak, quite clearly!
You're welcome... For me it is a pleasure to share this type of material that I have been collecting over the years.
Wow that autograph is worth gold... Coincidentally I recently went up to YT to celebrate Tarja's birthday, the complete remastered audio of the concert in Pratteln Switzerland on October 24, 2000, must be identical to the one you saw...

Good and old days. The Golden era of NW
Oh my God GETHSEMANE live with TARJA❤😥
First time I hear the double track for the last She's My Sin chorus! 😲😲❤❤❤❤❤❤
Felling young and in love again with this young dreamers ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much sir, we owe you, this is a jewel. The band in its prime. Love it, love it, love it!
You're welcome, Ligeia, thanks to you for commenting! 😉👍
;)
This IS One of the BEST CONCERTS EVER.THANKS NIGHTWISH.kat,ct
the best of times... thank you
Ah, back when cellphones weren't advanced. Those were the days. Also, I kind of wish Tuomas interacted with the crowd and band again like at 53:40 :D
Wow. Even in potato quality, you can sense the energy. Floor era stuff don't get even close.
precisely..Floor is constantly adjusting but still sounds ordinary, whereas Tarja soars with consistency
We're in the smartphone era. Back then there was nothing to distract or to show everyone you went to a concert except the ticket. We had literal fun no matter the band or singer.
There's also still a sense of anger or contempt in most Nightwish fans towards any singer that's not Tarja.
& its a smaller venue. The energy in these clubs is different than an arena or stadium. It was an amazing night for me, for sure
@@amandasantini6265 It's like food or sports. I don't pineapples on my pizza, but others do. I like rugby more than soccer, but others love soccer. I like Tarja in Nightwish as a symphonic metal band, but others love Anette and Floor in Nightwish as heavy pop band, Disney movie music imitators and folk rock music.
Nothing wrong with it, just personal preferences.
Absolutely amazing !!
Thanks again metallwish,i am so happy to see this concert after almost 20 and I try to remember what a f...k did that time and i didn't knew Nightwish and i didn't saw that lives. Thanks for helping me to live those moments from my house. That list of the first three albums is killing me.
It's good to know that you like these concerts, tomorrow I will be publishing in the channel dedicated to Tarja, a song from the concert "From Wishes to Eternity" remastered through software based on Artificial Neural Networks. I leave you the link of the channel 😉👍

We were there... ty for these precious souvenirs
I love Floor, I loved her for over 16 years now. But I enjoy watching and listening to Tarja singing Nightwish songs.
Thank you so much! What a killer setlist
😉👍 Nelle, hice 2 temas del live Montreal 2003, te los deje por mensaje privado, Saludos!
Nelle, I made 2 songs of the live Montreal 2003, I leave them by private message, Greetings!
Oh thank you! I will check them out right now
It's the same of from wishes to eternity but with gethsemane and without beauty and the beast!!
I love gethsemane sung by Tarja!!
favorite era.
Thank you for this amazing set! I don't think I've ever seen them perform Gethsemane live.
There's a video of them preforming it soon after they got done with their required military service. Its the only other video I could find of the song better quality too dated 1999.
Such a beautiful song. Too bad we'll never hear it live anymore. :/
Well, who knows? This year they're doing the Decades world tour and they're going to play the old songs, so there's still hope! I'm going to see them in Milan by the way. I hope they'll play Wanderlust as well!!! Cheers :) \m/
They've been performing Gethsemane this year, for very obvous reasons it doesn't sound like the album version at all but it's better than nothing.
I saw It!
you deserve an oscar, my friend !!!
Damn, she is good on the stage!
Deep Silent Complete
Esperando a virada de 2019 para 2020 !!!!! Com a Rainha Deusa apocalíptica Tarja !!!
Espetacular, tenha um muito bom 2020!!! 😉👍
All this show needed was Crownless and Passion & The Opera it would have been perfect.
And Stargazers! :)
I wonder if her voice might be "tired". Or maybe she's trying to sound more "modern"?
Y TODAVIA HAY GENTE QUE DICE ESTO NO ES METAL...NO ENTIENDEN NADA....ESTO ES UNA RAMA DEL HEAVY METAL...ASI COMO HAY TRASH...EXTREMO...GLAM..POWER...ESTO ES POWER METALMELODICO LIRICO...UNA COMBINACION MARAVILLOSA Y UNICA....GRACIAS NIGHTWISH...POR TU MUSICA....ETERNO POR SIEMPRES....
53:39 My favorite part :)
Aún no puedo superar que Nw haya echado a Tarja 🤦♀️🥺
Ya pasaron 17 años, no es para tanto.
@@juancarlosmartinez5013 Y aún Tarja sigue siendo insuperable 🤪 jajaaj
I got a little bored of the ads but not the band . When i did " The Management" my Fiance Eric ( Bossy Face 😅😅😅) asked me to go back to the video. He also likes Nightwish. So here we are . Back with the video.
Tarja really was the star of the band. But she would not have been a star without an excellent band and great songs. :-)
tempo bom que nao volta mais
53:39 They're having so much fun.
This was a superb performance and with my favourite vocalist Tarja . Ruined by very long ads
Dos palabras . . . Que maravilla !!
Definitivamente Tarja es una reina completa, que vozarrón, un sonido instrumental algo pobre por la calidad de la grabación lo arregla esa tremenda voz.
Great Song deep silent
thank you

Not for nothing! Friend, I'm from the other side of the world, from Argentina, Greetings! 😉👍

The Golden Age 🎼💗🎶
The Golden Era
Too bad that i born in 2003 so I missed golden times of Nightwish :(
this tour was awesome. I wish I would have seen one of the shows. It was more raw and crazy. BUT they needed to split and I think both are doing better than ever (NW and TT). It is crazy to think: we are already 20 years past these days. I still wish I could have seen this show lol
1:15:43 I love how she sings the wrongs words for that part xd
Colosal sin palabras
Brillante show!! Hay posibilidad de ver el show en Argentina del año 2000 ?
Lamentablemente no hay version completa del vivo en Bs As 2000, solo existen estos dos videos.

There must be a master pro shot alive somewhere as they had included Walking in the air from that show on their first official DVD release.
They're so damn young!!!!

Oh, muchas gracias amigo! :)
This is the line up I met, she was my inspiration to be a classical singer, I tried so hard to see them live but I was too young to travel by myself and my parents didn't want to give me the permission then when I finally got it they kicked her out, Tuomas I don't like you very much!
Dear God, this happened 20 years ago!
I know. We blinked & 2 decades passed.
Tarja 💖🤩🤗
Ahh MAN.I Cry....kat
Faltou Slipiing Sun.
☹☹☹
As much as I love Tarja, it's so very obvious she traded clarity for range. Her voice is outstanding here, but as the later dvds come along, there is a clear difference in her voice, and i'm sorry to say, it's not all for the better.
NW y TARJA 👍🤘☠🎃💀🎃☠🎃💀🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪👹
Hier ist die Tonqualität besser (obwohl früher ), Tarjas Stimme kommt besser zur Geltung.
If only it was high quality...
Only 22 years old!!!!
My Lad
as much as I hate the term "peak" I'm must say this is peak Nightwish
No esta The Riddler :(
I can't believe Jukka was using a Yamaha :-)
39... "Deep Blue Sea" (1999) Main theme ?!?
Great crowd! Were they support act or main act already??
Main act, at least in Europe, but I think they were main act over there too.
Sonata Arctica was with them in 2000, but I believe they were the main act.
They were main act. I believe a band "Forgotten Tales " or something like that, opened for them
Se me hace raro ahora ver a Tarja con NW xD
Raro? , Tarja fue su primera vocalista, ayudó a iniciar la banda, los primeros discos fueron hechos a basa de su voz, de que estamos hablando 🤦♀️
Imagine metalhead kid's watching this in 2040
