- It's been a little over 1 full year driving and owning the a90 supra. I know this video is a bit more on the talkative side but I wanted to revisit the ownership experience of having the car. The B58 in the a90 supra is a beast, but it also has some interesting "things" that I have experienced after daily driving it for 1 year. Overall the Supra is still my top buy out of all the other sport coupes on the market. If you read the description drop a 😛 in the comments below, you forreal the true ones.

I usually park my Supra around this time of year. But after watching this video i think im gonna get it back out for a lil bit. Your right, this is boost weather. Nice ride man.

I had that same throttle issue, it’s random and mostly at stop lights. You need to get your car’s firmware updated at the dealership. It takes 4-5 hours and fixes the problem, and makes CarPlay work way better
Yeah that’s what I also saw on the forums. It’s weird that turning off traction cancels out the annoying throttle response.
Yup and that’s how we almost crashed twice by turning off traction control. Needs a reprogramming 🤙🏽

Turn of all the stability controls and see if it still cuts power. Supra is known to be tail happy. And I bet your tires just aren't up to operating temp when your just taking off hard so you will notice more slippage. Getting up to temp takes a bit of consistent load. Sticker tires are still sticker tires comes with pros and cons. Glad you're enjoying your Supra man its a unique car.
That’s fair. There are times though when I’m doing some spirited driving that I still am slipping from 2-3rd. But overall daily driving is doable.
do you ever feel the gears slamming from 1-2 and vice versa?

not slamming, but in lower gears it can be a bit sluggish.
That's one of the downsides of having wider tires on the street; they take longer to heat up and "stick".

Great input, Kenny! I just picked up a 2024 45th anniversary Mikan Blast because I wanted a color that was different. I do recommend PPF ASAP after you buy the car. My appointment is tomorrow.
As a former Corvette guy, I found that lightweight rules. A good combination is a Miata for open air sight-seeing and the Supra 3.0 for aggressive driving and getting noticed by so many other drivers and pedestrians.
Some future mods may be lowering springs and a louder exhaust. Of course, carbon fiber winglets for wind buffeting with windows down are also forthcoming.
Honestly sucha fun car and 100% I probably am going to do PPF soon

Only thing I don’t like is my terrible sound system in my Supra. The subs suck. One of the speakers to the left of my seat behind me blew after like a month and I don’t ever play loud. My Nissan Sentra sounds better
dude the sound system in this car 100% sucks...even with the JBL subs. But I heard you have to turn off active sound to make it better.
@@KennyHaan I’ll look into the active sound setting. I did turn off the surround sound setting and it helped and I ended up using the eq but still sucks. Never wanted to spend money on it vs buying other things
Dude we’ve got the same exact car, Absolute Zero ‘22 3.0 Premium and have had for almost a year now. I also have the MST intake - the sounds it makes are just 🫰. Mine also cut power when I bought it used from an Audi dealer… it died when I started my test drive lol. Hasn’t done it since then though. My next mod that I just ordered is the AWE Track Edition Non-Resonated exhaust paired w/ Active Autowerke catted downpipe. Should be the ultimate set up for daily driving. This car definitely got me into a BMW craze lol. Subbed to follow your Supra journey!
ayee AZW gang strong haha. AWE is honestly a pretty solid choice. One of my top 3. Would have gotten it if I didn't find the magnaflow for cheap.
@@KennyHaanI watched your video on that one, it sounds awesome! Where do you buy your parts most of the time? I had a bad experience with Urotuning for my MST intake… but my exhaust & dp I ordered from Speed Industry. I’ve also heard about A90 shop but I’ve not ordered from them.
@@coltontallen22 To be honest I buy them where I can get the best price. I have hear that Speed Industry and A90 Shop are pretty legit for parts also Extreme Power House.
The stuttering issue is most likely a traction control issue. I see it at low speed when you stop the car and press on the gas and the car feels like it's about to die. By turning off the traction control it gets rid of the problem. I usually just leave it off for like 30 seconds before turning it back on. and the car goes back to normal. I haven't seen it happen at high speed yet.
This tends to happen when the car is warm or hot, like after getting gas or going into a store for a few minutes. I never have this issue when the car is cold, only when it's been on for a while and you restart it.
yeah 100%. It's weird because when I turn off TC it operates just fine...but it does get kinda annoying sometimes because you don't really know when it could happen.

Yeah wind-buffeting happens if you don't have the guards on. It's a super cheap mod, annoying that you have to buy it but it stops the problem!

European Supras have FIA style rain lights incorporated into the OEM reverse lights, cheaper and better looking than aftermarket options for sure. I found when my supra does not automatically connect to Wireless Apple Carplay after turning it on its because of my background apps, usual suspect is Instagram. As soon as I close the app the wireless carplay automatically connects.
Dang. Never new Ig was the culprit. I’m gonna test to see if that happens on mine.
@@KennyHaan If that doesn't work for you try closing and reopening your music app. My cousins M2 comp prefers that method.

Nope no burble tune, this is the stock downpipe paired with the full mangaflow xmod exhaust.
Is ur suspension or tyre/rim stock, look pretty low than stock

@@KennyHaandoes ur supra still have throttle lag problem. I read the forum u share and i found out it just getting worse day by dsy snd they all end up selling their supra. Does it only happen in sport mode?
@@gw2087 I haven’t gotten the issue in a while. It’s only when certain weather conditions and tractions conditions are created that it acts sluggish.

@@gw2087 the only time I have got this issue was when I turn the wheel when I am backing out right after the car starts up on slightly wet days. But even then I can’t consistently recreate this issue all the time.
Owing a MK4 TT manual before I can never forgive toyota did this to the Supra, I am sure this is a great car until the IS500 show up in my garage. Finally let go the grudge against Toyota
Yeah to be fair....I also looked at the IS500 and although it's a great car. Definitely not comparable to the a90. 2 different target audiences and purposes. I can understand though, A90 is a hard sell if you come from the JZ platform.
@KennyHann Totally agree when I have the Supra. I am in mid thirty, and now I want something to be comfortable ,reliable, not drawing attention, and can have fun if I want to. Good luck with the channel

Is the supra a good sports car? Im on the edge about it choosing from the supra, a mustang gt, and the 400z im in the market for a sports car since my daily drive has heavy traffic but im also near nice hills and moutain passes get the occasional hill touge weekend from time to time, i dont care about it being part bmw, What i want to know
Is it reliable long term and a great experience compared to the other 2?
hard to say in terms of long term reliability. People on the MKV forums have driven this car up to 120K miles and had no issues by just doing general maintenance. End of the day it was inspected by toyota standards, regardless of it's BMW parts.
Imo I like this over the rest due to the exotic design, very usable power, and nimbleness of the car. Of course there are draw backs, but I think I would prefer this car over the mustang gt and 400z.

How about you don't drive so close to the cars in front in order to not get stoned chips I stay way back from cars and I have very very few stone chips
I mean…I don’t think I can control traffic or random debris on the road that comes from other peoples cars.
