This is a classic case of polishing a turd, looks amazing on the outside, all rotten on the inside. Clearly a lesson for us all in what to look for. Thanks guys.
Thank you for uploading these pre purchase inspection videos on trucks. They are definitely helpful for us that are new to owning trucks on what we should be looking for. Thanks again
i had one done a very thorough one. after 5 trucks i thought i had the one wound up with a truck with $33,000 in repairs and the truck worked for 2 months and it was down for 3 months for back order parts.
For someone coming in off the street sounds like10k-15k in repairs!
I have a 2003 Freightliner FL 112 daycab with a C-12 Caterpillar diesel engine.
The body has 1.5 million miles and the engine has 495.200 miles if it was not for that C-12 engine this tractor Freightliner would had been at a yard for parts 😂 Freightliner should had stuck to them caterpillar engines . Lots of power and engine life there ...
That's why you're better off buying a old truck in cash. Cheaper and easier to fix. Save your money and buy the truck that you really want in cash.
Or don't pay too much
I paid 20k cash for one and had to put 10k into parts and labor D13 500k miles 2016
That is old truck
Nope. You'll end up re doing your whole truck
@@big_W You'll find out the hard way.🤣🤣🤣
I don’t know about you guys but my 2015 has had a bunch of issues and it seems like the parts on this particular year cost a crap load more than most, started off with fuel quantity control valve, then water pump Which was $1300 about $1100 more than a normal water pump, to the MCM wiring harness, then the CPC. These are all the things I’ve had to fix in the last eight months I just bought the truck 10 months ago
Have you any more issues ???
Obviously you don't like Freightliner and DD15 so keep doing videos about how good is Volvo D12 and maybe the biggest junk out there Cummins ISX15 😄
Starting that silly holy truck vs truck war, huh?
I don’t know man. With my company I’ve been through 3 21’s and one 20 all have issues the 21 all had issues under 10k miles on one the electrical harness caught fire. Shake liners are junk this year.
Why you mad bro??
Feel bad for the guy that bought that truck
Not much wrong with it..... All it needs is a complete over haul 😂😂
Hell o Guys new to the trucking game but when you said since you're taking the oil pan off you might as well do mains and rods? Are you referring to changing out all main and rod bearings or just checking torque on them and then reinstalling new pan gasket and done????
Freightliner Cascadia CPC modules are crashing at an alarming rate in the last year. There is something very sinister about Daimler, International, PACCAR, and Volvo group when it comes to the shoddy quality control of 2010 and up trucks.
You need to buy new I own a 2010 cascadia I put one million sixty thousand miles so far and still running strong but you need to service everything and I mean everything
How about take the Def off or else the poor guy will be out of business
He's already outta business he bought a truck without bringing a mechanic 🤦🏿♂️ No Truckin' Sense!
Can we get more of these vid’s
Will do. Thank you!
I'm in process to buy 2015 122sd I could use your service truck is in Illinois Ill pay for your service thanks
With 700k miles your volvo already ate your 401k, emergency funds and your property too morgage
Would love to see videos on how you fix the fuel and coolant issues on the truck.
Been having injector pass thru seals go bad on a 2020. Easy fix but happens often
Always do a pre-purchase inspection......📝📝📝📝📝
Check health of after treatment
Do you guys offer inspection on site as a paid service and are you willing do fly out to inspect a truck upon approval of course at the respecful additional cost? Thanks
Sounds like you guys don't like a dd
Hey I always seeing you guys use a diagnostic laptop to read ecm information. I have a 2015 international prostar with a navistar n13. What software and wire set up do you use?
Make sure the truck is under warranty 👍👍
Yep call NTP or Premium 2000 and get an extended warranty on it they will offer you one just what have to see what they will offer you. Why ppl bring there trucks to mechanics after the purchase is beyond me it’s too late now you committed yourself to a loan now.. but that truck should pay for itself in a year or too including the work he has to put in it.
@@classicjay7786 Lots of people are naive. Which is very heartwarming actually. But they're immediately an easy prey for crooks, scammers or other scum.
Greetings from the Ohio Porters. I think he paid a bit too much for the truck…was it from a dealer? I’m not asking what dealer, just if it was a dealer or not. I bet you guys will get it thoroughly checked out and road ready for him. Thanks for the good info. I do like that about you. Are you disliking Detroit Diesels now? I think they’re better than Volvo engines myself, but you know that I DON’T like Volvos anyway! 😳
I'd buy the 2013 or older Cascadia with standard transmission because there better made and mostly simple, the 2015 model or newer, run.
Should we call this "the mid 30s crisis " 🤔
You don’t like dd15???
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR UNIQUE THEME SONG ?🎶🎵🎶
Very nice discussion and advice but I didn't see any evidence.
Someone drove this truck and only fixed it to move. Injector cups were fixed check the water filter. Replace the suction module and o rings minimum.
Patch work 😢
So did u buy it?
The color is enough to pass on this truck
( A Heads Up ) A Used Tractor Truck Must Be inspected By The DOT Safety inspector Before it Can Be Put Back into Service
Awesome..........
And you never said how much it was... Your channel was barely ok .. but genuinely sucks. Maybe for someone who has no clue it has value but truthfully you talk about a lot of stuff you show absolutely nothing you banter and talk on and on and give no actual real information on anything
My 2017 freightliner auto transmission keeps going into neutral anyone knows what the problem is can't figure it out ..goes in neutral than back to gear
i bought a used truck that turned out to be a nightmare. but i bought cash and had an adidtional $60k for issues that would arise
Sorry but do you guys ever make a good video all you do is talk about stuff don't give any information and just make a video just stop
No truck is a good buy in today's trucking market.
Can you please suggest a good truck for new owner operators? Or atleast do a video on this topic? Thank you
Take a shot every time he says "truck"..
Really appreciate all of your videos and all of the knowledge that you guys share👍 I’m looking at a 2019 peterbuilt 579 with mx13 engine and it has 80,000 miles on it. If I pull the trigger I plan on taking it to another shop and comb through it.
Do you fellas know of any issues with this model of truck that I should be concerned about? I’ve been trying to do some research on my own.
Again I really enjoy your videos and remember to keep it between the lines👍
Mx-13 engine so much problems
To purchase or lease a freightliner, is the biggest mistake you can make. I have seen too many of my trucker friends who have lost, not only their truck, but also their homes and all their stuff, due to frieghtliner.
I agree freightliner are crap we have 2 sd 122 and we will never buy another one.
@@johnmerlo5005 Interesting. I hear alot of people saying good things about freightliner. What's a good truck then?
If your going keep a truck for a 100000 miles buy Pete or kw freightliner flooded the market resale is when you loose.
Planned obsolescence. Buy new one...
How much did he buy the truck for?
Greetings from the Ohio Porters. I think he mentioned it was $35K. A bit much for a truck that was driven hard and not properly maintained.
Guys I have a question. If you get employed as a truck driver at a company and if truck your are given breaks down on the road, who pays for the repair? Is it true that the driver himself has to pay even if he/she does not own the truck and trailer? Thank your for the answer.
The employer pays for everything. The only time you’ll pay is if your an owner operator or lease operator (meaning the truck is yours).
No Freightliner is worth buying
This is what happens when you don't take a truck to have it inspected at a different shop, highly recommend a dyno test.. It's worth the extra cash to have this done before signing on the dotted line!!! The cost of repairs could break you
