I'm a vet in rural Alaska and just used this to free a dog from a body grip trap. We've only seen paw traps up here at the clinic until this case. Thanks for the help in a happy outcome - you're doing important work SD Game and Parks!
Three items that I always have in the field: 1) Beeper collar that I can remotely trigger to quickly locate the dog. 2) Zip ties to quickly keep the trap springs open. 3) Felco C7 Cable Cutter for Up To 5/32" Wire Rope

We had a small dog get caught in one of these traps. He was in such pain we couldn't get him to calm down. We ended up finding a small log to lay over the dog so we could access his leg. It was horrible.
Thank you for posting this video traps like these two are used in my area sometimes though illegal under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and pending where its placed and the intention it'a also an offence under Section 9 Endangered Species Act .
Thanks so much. It's unfortunate we have to be prepared because the law allows non caring people to leave these vile devices around. The fact that ANY of these are still legal is beyond me. They serve absolutely no purpose and are not beneficial for the environment, let alone any animal that is caught in one. And too often it's people s pets. Makes me so angry. It's an incredibly disgusting and lazy way to deal with a problem animal. (And it's the livestock industry that is the main problem anyway. The cows are the ones actually destroying the ecosystem and land 🙄🙃)

If your dog is in a 220 or 330 conibear he's probably history. Sad to say but you would have to be real quick and hope it didn't break his neck .

The 220 will kill most small dogs, in my experience..a few strays ended up in the sets over the years.
