Excellent video. I had terrible buzzing problems on my LP Studio and was terrified of touching the truss rod. After watching your video and a few minutes or experimenting with it, my guit doesn't buzz at all yet the action remains lovely and low. Thanks very much!
Isn't it a bad idea to tighten the truss rod with the strings up to pitch? Also before you put the truss rod nut back on wouldn't it had been a good idea to put a little 3-in-one oil on it?
My Gibson LP Firebrand appears to also have a bridge height adjustment. How do you coordinate bridge height adjustment with truss rod adjustment? Is there not a difference between, say, bowing the neck and raising/lowering the action on a straight neck? I've heard some people like a slight bow in the neck, others like a straight neck. In either case, it seems that there must be some interaction between bridge height adjustment and truss rod adjustment. Can you talk about that?
If that was my Les I'd be pissed the way he's racketing around with that tool on the headstock! I think he knows his stuff but scratches on the headstock? Sloppy and messy Marvin!
wait a sec and I had to watch it a couple times to make sure I saw it right....he said @2:33 that adjusting the truss too much either way is bad and then procedes to completely loosen the truss rod. I'm just learning how to do this but even I can figure out this is wrong.
He said "it's not what you want" meaning it won't be ideal for playing. But, like he also says, you can only damage the neck by tightening the truss rod too much.
What a hack this guy is, talking about damaged threads but yet taps on the threads with a tool, and the way he was throwing the around the wrench I thought this was going to turn into a Gibson headstock repair🤣🤣

what happens if you do it too much? I'm scared to try, but I would love to see
Best video on this topic.
best video for this!
What about if the strings are too high on both sides of the 12th fret?
If I can't loosen the truss rod anymore, does that mean it's at its most loose? Because I still have a buzz on my low E string.
Raise your string height maybe.

Yes , loosen strings before tighten

Daniel Bryant If you ever adjust your own you can use tape to cover the area around the nut to protect the headstock from your tools
He might have had 4 cups of coffee before he started turning on that true rod
