I have to side with Julia. Once you get everything unpacked, then you can focus on making the house to your liking. That way you’re not trying to focus on two things at once, unpacking AND decorating.
The stove is safe, a gas detector and baby proof things to turn it on and off ( I do not know the English word for those) which need to be pressed down for more than 30 seconds, otherwise the flame goes out would have been enough. But a new stove is as good, I am sure:). Also, the thing you smell is mercaptan which is put in the gas especially to prevent accidents, since methane gas does not smell.
There are safety covers that cover the knobs on the stove to keep children from turning them off and on. There's also a safety strap so they can't pull the door open. Amazon has them
I love my gas stove. I don't ever want to go back to Electric. The Simple Solution is to either remove the knobs when you have toddlers or buy knob covers.
Agree with Julia that once your unpacked you can work out where you can put things, and you can focus. Getting excited for new renovations in your new home and thank you so much for making a great video and couldn’t stop laughing all the way through this video
So I think both of you have valid points for your arguments. The key is to compromise: Julia measures while Abbie unpacks some. Then Julia unpacks while Abbie picks out the doors. Or, Julia measures while Abbie unpacks and then when Julia was done measuring, she can join Abbie to unpack. When the unpacking is done for the day, you can both pick out doors together while you relax!
Regarding the Dechoker, don’t use it! The single study I found for it raises questions regarding it’s efficacy. There are also concerns about mouth trauma, which is more likely in a small child. Generally speaking, fishing around in someone’s mouth who is choking could lodge something deeper. And NEVER reach in if you don’t see the object. A baby CPR class is much safer alternative. By the way, I’m straight, and happen to be a registered nurse. Stay safe! P.S. I think unpacking first is a goof idea 😋
The house is looking good so far. I am a sort a room at a time person other rooms can still be in the mix but big jobs need to be done asap. You ladies are absolutely amazing and inspiring. Stay true and blessed in all you do 💙💙
You can get caps for the stove caps, that lock the caps in place!!! I don't personally have a gas stove, but a good friend does and they have 6 kids🤯!!! They got the lock caps!!! They have been a lifesaver👍!!! We have had the same stove since we bought our house when I was 7 months pregnant with our first. We now have 3 and our youngest will be 19 next month 👍❣️ They never touched the knobs on the stove when they were little and then they were taught that if they did it would burn them🔥🥵...ELECTRIC STOVE TOPS ARE JUST AS DANGEROUS AS GAS (IMO)!!! (ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE AN OVEN THAT DOESN'T HEAT CORRECTLY... ie.. I can cook a fully frozen 20lb turkey in around 2 hours!!!😧🤯 The heating element is not calibrated correctly. We have managed perfectly fine with it 👍. We just got used to using our noses and a MEAT THERMOMETER (for the meat eaters) my daughter and I are both vegetarians, but I still make meat for others in our household 👍. It's just difficult to bake, but then with both my husband and myself being diabetic, makes that easy 👍. When someone needs something sweet, it's just bought from OUTSIDE, we don't keep any sweet stuff in our house 👍. I love how you both bicker 😂❣️ Harbor is getting so big 👍❣️And so VERY handsome 😁❣️ You might need to custom order the closet doors. Our house was built in 1963. All of our interior doors are custom built. They are over 10' tall!!! They go all the way to the ceiling!!! Luckily, we have NEVER had to replace one, knocking on wood... We only have 2 doors that are standard size doors in our house & both were put in AFTER the initial build. One was put in as a door from our laundry room to the backyard...but it now goes into an enclosed patio which runs the entire length of our house, giving us another 900sq feet 👍!!! The second one, we added shortly after our 1st son was born...there was a window in our bedroom that looked out into that enclosed patio but there was no access to it other than walking completely around the other side of the house. So, my husband, put a door in and then we had a way to access that side of the house 👍❣️ Later on, we added a temporary/partial wall (no permits needed) and I was able to make an office at home for my business at the time... I still have the office, but due to health issues, the business has been closed and I no longer work. "The office" is my personal area. And my oldest son's room is on the other side in the patio. Our original house was 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and with the enclosed patio we got an additional 900 sq ft. We made an extra room. My son has his room outside in the patio... My youngest son has 1 room. Our daughter has 1 room and we have the Master. The boys shared a room for a short time but that didn't work out well..so that is why our oldest is in the patio....he chose to move out there almost 10 years ago ... He is 24 and perfectly happy being where he is...He works nights, so he just needs a place to sleep when he's not WORKING 👍. He's also my Primary care giver 👍❣️ 💞ALOHA FROM HAWAI'I 💞🌹 LYSSA 🌹
I love my gas stove but took the knobs off so my daughter can't mess with them. I agree with Julia with unpacking first and the making everything nice. the boxes would make me crazy. Also I think your hair looks good either way Julia! And I'm straight, married with a 4 year old daughter. Love watching you guys!
I agree with Julia set up then worry about decorating & I’m straight! You guys are the best!! My son loves hey bear as well the birthday one is his favorite too
Going with Julia ~ unpack 1st! Then, no boxes in the way. Easier to decide what's going to look👀 best. Julia, your hair looks good either way! You & Abbie are Gorgeous! Put a hat on Harbor when you're out & it's windy!! You 2 have nice warm hats on & poor Harbor will get cold ❄😬 with that wind!
oh my goodness when I was younger my little sister flipped the switch on our gas stove and we had a wooden cutting board on top of it and it caught on fire and fill our entire house with smoke and we had to live in a hotel for a month so I think A new stove is such a good decision for safety for you guys. Love you!!!!
Hi Julia! Heleen here. Mom of 2 , watching you both for a long time now..and and the straigth end of the spectrum :) I also have to side with you regarding the unpacking of the livingroom. But hey..all relationships are about giving and taking so...measuring the closet and making Abbie happy, makes you happy too . Love from Holland!
I’m bisexual, definitely not straight. I love y’alls content and honestly you two are making something I’d never be able to do.. someone I’d never get to be seem possible Thank you both for that ❤️💜💙 Much love you both and Harbor🥰
I also like setting and decorating a room as you go because then you can book stamp that room done! Or done for now is what I say. Then you can move on feeling good about what you just finished then it also gives you a room to go to where you can feel done and good and calm when you need a break from unpacking. If the entire house it half done that would just make my anxiety and ocd go wild!
New house is looking good. Always easier to finish one room before going on to the next one. It may take more time, but at least you can get rid of the boxes taking up space. Have fun .
Awww, i just wish one day i have a family like yours You guys are so sweet and omg I still can't believe harbor is getting older and older awww honey boy🥺🥺🥺🥺 Love you guys so much:)))
since you are hesitant using gas for your stove but you can use a gate valve for your gas. But either way even if it is elect, you know kids when they grow up they tend to be very curious. I guess you can add a safety precaution for your elect stove, by installing a separate switch or circuit breaker for your elect stove(safety net). A house is a huge investment and specially you guys need to be safe all the time.
The house is looking great!! I love your family pajamas 😍😍 Harbor is a cutie💙and I have to side with Julia here, unpacking everything first makes more sense to me.
I live in a four bedroom home and just turned one of the bedrooms into a walk in closet. I don't even use my stove, everything I eat is either frozen meals or fresh salads.

@@meaghanluce27 I mean ay get that bag
@@meaghanluce27 it’s how they get income lmao. Plus it’s wheat free, which she needs because she’s wheat intolerant. So I think it makes sense
I have to side with Julia. Once you get everything unpacked, then you can focus on making the house to your liking. That way you’re not trying to focus on two things at once, unpacking AND decorating.
Agreed its more important to get everything where you want then take on one project at a time
I agree to
Agreed 👍

I’m straight haha! I have a 7 month old little girl so that’s how I found you guys, love watching your videos of Harbor and love your energy:)
Lol same. I just like watching people with healthy relationships. They also have the same sense of humor as my family.
I have an almost 7 month old baby girl too!!
I have a 2 year old cousin who is really crazy and cute and one time he hit my sister in the head with a toy fire truck 🚒
I love my gas stove. I don't ever want to go back to Electric. The Simple Solution is to either remove the knobs when you have toddlers or buy knob covers.
My parents just removed the knobs when I was a toddler. Gas stoves are so nice and they tend to heat more evenly than electric.
I love gas lol
You guys should totally do a Harbor clothes collection type video!! i love seeing his little fits, you guys have amazing style!☺️☺️
Yes! My little nephew will be born next month and I’d love to get him some cute clothes like Harbors 🥰
I think that is a great idea 💡 Viviane valdez

You can get safety things for the stove knobs..
