I'm sorry you found this experience in a Cracker Barrel parking area upsetting. I can understand why you had an uneasy night. In fairness to Cracker Barrel, I think unlocked bikes on a vehicle would be an attraction to certain people in any location. I hope you don't give up on this restaurant chain that has been so good to Rvers - your experience could have happened anywhere. I wish you safe and happy travels.
You are right. It could happen anywhere. We love Cracker Barrel. Others mentioned in these comments that live in North Carolina that particular area is high crime. We didn’t think of researching the area first.
We’ve stayed at a lot of CB and they wanted to steal your bikes. I don’t have any bikes and nothing outside to steal. Most crimes are a crime of opportunity. You were that opportunity for the night. People suck all over the place so I’m not surprised. We stayed at the one off 95 in Savanna Ga and the two guys next to us in a car were homeless, I walked our dog and talked to them. We had to disconnect the car because we were in our 36’ class an and were too long for the space. Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm all for saving money when we travel in our RV. But, when you stay at some of these free places like Walmart's, Bass Pro Shops, Cracker Barrel's, etc., you are more vulnerable to these types of situations. Anybody and their brother can just drive through at any hour of the night. Granted, theft can happen at any paid campsite, but it's less likely to occur where people pay and you have other fellow RVer's like yourself. I've never stayed at any of these places while we travel. Like you said, both of you were exhausted the next day from worrying about someone stealing your bikes or worse. You have to ask yourself, was it worth saving the $40 or $50 at a paid campsite. Anyway, thank you for sharing and keep the videos coming!!!
Gary, we fully agree. We were all open to stay at a campsite but by the time we found out we couldn't stay in the rest area, all the campgrounds were already closed for the day (8:30 pm). We had all intentions to make it to our next campground but exhaustion hit us and we didn't want to hit the road as tired as we were. We will definitely do our research next time before boondocking in a location we know nothing about. Thank you!
We believe it's more the surrounding areas, not the specific establishments. It was very last minute for us so we didn't do our research. Thanks for commenting.
what??? you think free rent is going to be uneventful???? hahahaaaa.... full timed all over northamerica. don't keep anything on the exterior of your vehicles or it will disappear. get rid of the bike rack. Don't put your crapola outside your moho when staying in parking lots. Here is another hint!!! get rid of your roof ladder so they don't climb up on top of your coach. One that I learned the hard way 40 years ago. Folks know that you have expensive stuff in your moho, they were watching your coach to see if you were around so they could break into your moho.... most likely spotted your roof ladder, they break out a skylight and into the shower.... tougher to get in without a roof ladder... gonna be bad spots all over our nation, most are in the big cities....

Thanks for sharing. Just need to watch out wherever you go.
@@All-in-RVing I'm looking for a van. At least I wouldn't feel trapped and could drive away (hopefully). No more NC overnighting. Safe and happy travels to you both!
@@MsDaBean We've also had travel trailers and 5th wheels and felt that we could have been trapped inside and not be able to get to the tow vehicle but we've been fortunate. Safe travels!
I stumbled upon your channel and subscribed. I like your story but don't like your thumbnail. Safe travels and have fun!
Thanks for subscribing. We appreciate you. Will try to do better next time on our thumbnail.
Thank you!
Jerks and thieves are EVERYWHERE. It’s not really appropriate to give Cracker Barrel a bad name over it.
Maybe they were looking for a place to sleep
You guys' maid two big mistakes, the first one you needed to call the police Bronto. Number two go somewhere else fast.
CB is definitely a last resort. They aren't safe anymore.
We believe it's more the surrounding areas, not the specific establishments. It was very last minute for us so we didn't do our research. Thanks for commenting.
Not true! We’ve stayed at CBs across the country and have never EVER felt unsafe or experienced any danger of any kind. Must have been that location.
what??? you think free rent is going to be uneventful???? hahahaaaa.... full timed all over northamerica. don't keep anything on the exterior of your vehicles or it will disappear. get rid of the bike rack.
Your Lucky You werent Robbed. Are You nuts to think its safe to park and sleep anywhere?
Nothing happened, no problem, motion lights activated….
Great rv lifestyle 😢
This Rving is for the birds Why do you want to live this way??????????????
