I was in the middle of the East End that day trying to do my bit to lift the team, as I was for the whole season. A dreadful period in the club's history. Given the amount of ex top-flight experience City still had at that time, I still find it incredible the way that they dropped through the old Div 3 without a pause.

Both relegated previous season . PNE finished 14th , City 23rd , Bristol Rovers had 2 points deducted .
