Fixed Bale M1 Helmet Restoration

- I found this helmet for $25 and figured it would be a fun project. It took about 3 months to restore it mainly because I needed to find someone to weld the other bale on. Once that was on I had it done in an afternoon.
You have done a good job on your M1. Instead of using all of that paint stripper, find a local company that has a bead/sand blasting machine. It is far quicker and for $20-$30 will strip the shell back to bare metal.
If you use sand paper and VERY gently sand the shell it will take the sharp points off of the cork. A couple more layers of paint and the shell is done.
Ricks restoration style?🤣

Maybe the white paint was the winter camouflage when it was used in Korea.
Most machine shops will have some kind of sand blaster. For 20 or so bucks they will blast it for you. Only way to go.
Or buy a harbor freight blaster special!🤣

Nice video, but you have ruined the grass with your paint ! You could have used a large piece of cardboard to protect it...
