I've seen her live and her energy and presence is HUGE!!! She moves that crowd! Her voice just hits you in the chest and the way she stomped back and forth on that stage for such a small woman was impressive. I met her afterward and she was so dope and humble in person.....and beautiful. I would definitely see her again
I just saw her live in Chicago, and you are correct, live is better than recorded. When she did this song, she had no backup singers and I’m glad, because DAMN can she SING too!
Dude, can't believe you're only now discovering Sa-Roc. Check out her tiny desk home concert or her I95 freestyle to appreciate both how good and how effortless her flow is. Truly believe if she had done a FITB we'd be talking about it n the same way we do Akala's or Wretch's etc. Sharecroppers Daughter is a superb album. If you're going down a rhymesayers rabbit hole definitely check out Brother Ali. Uncle Sam Goddamn and Shine are both great tracks. Either way enjoy Sa-Roc she is as good an MC as anyone out there and definitely better than most.
