Fishing with Live Bait Along Mangrove Shorelines (Surprise Catch)

- In this video, I show you how I use small live baits (threadfins and pilchards) to catch a variety of species while inshore fishing near Tampa Bay, Florida. During early Fall, the grassflats around the Tampa area are covered with schools of small baitfish. As long are you downsize your gear and lighten your drag, you can still catch some solid fish with these baits.

Nice catch. I went out 23 miles to 52 FOW on Saturday and couldn't find a grouper. You find one 4 ft off the shore in 2 FOW. LMAO. Go figure. BTW, we're almost due for some tripletail videos, aren't we? Thanks for the stickers!

How big do mangrove snapper get in the estuaries? Over here in Australia we get mangrove jack which is a related species, and they get about 50-60cm until they head off into the ocean.
Mangrove snapper are pretty similar. Once they reach around 14-18 inches they then typically stay offshore
