    Respected? I would've thought anyone with $15million would have a higher level of self-confidence and not worry too much what an immigration officer thinks. How bizarre.

      I think they are more concerned how others will perceive them across the gamut of life situations that will arise in which they disclose their nationality. I wonder if most former Americans that renounced and became a carribean citizen mention that they are from the USA.

    Good video. I think the “ American exceptionalism “ mentality , gets in the way of many westerners understanding of how people see nationality and ethnicity around the world. Thanks for explaining this to those that do not understand.

      can you elaborate?

    • @alansjf33
      @alansjf33 2 роки тому +5

      @@nefelibata4190 yes. There are Americans of all races and economic backgrounds who see their American citizenship as the only citizenship worth having and can’t imagine even wanting the citizenship of another country. As a result , they are completely unwilling to even explore how having multiple passports could benefit them. They would never open their mind to the possibilities because they think being an American makes them exceptional so renouncing that “ special citizenship “ would be like a death sentence to them. People around the world tend to travel outside of their country more and value other cultures and citizenships. As a result , they look at other citizenships as an asset and an opportunity.

      you have a colonial mindset man. Stop looking at visa free travel to "white" countries, and look at Jamaica from an economic and social standpoint. Jamaica is great if you have money and are preferrably white. If you are university educated or skilled, then you never have to step foot in Jamaica, and can apply for residency anywhere in the CARICOM. You can also hide your momey in any CARICOM tax haven. You also have easy access to the southeastern strip of Africa, Ghana, The Gambia, Mexico, Panama, almost all of South America, and South East Asia. This is where rich people are interested in travelling, whether for pleasure or business. By the way, money doesn't fall into your lap once you live in a mostly white country. Many times, it's even more difficult than living in Jamaica. Be business minded, not colonial minded. I would never go back to JA, but Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, St Kitts, and St. Lucia all sound like safer, cheaper and more accessible options, especially if I'm already making $$$

Because of taxes from the french territory. A guyanese passport does not require a Visa for 105 Countries. and is also one of the only cpuntries that issues a 10year Visa to the US. looks like americans can give up thier citizenships but also have a 10 year access to the US. Idea for retirees wanting inexpensive permanent residence in Panama is to then get Panamanian citizenship after 5 years residency. That Permanent Residency under the Friendship, Commerce and Navigation Treaty between the republic of panama and the republic of Italy then allows getting inexpensive permanent residence status in Italy, and the benefits under Schengen travel rights.

    What is the difference between the citizenship of Vanuatu and the citizenship of Caribbean countries? In my opinion there's no difference, the EU imposed a ban on Vanuatu just five months after I got it. Maybe after I get my St. Kitts passport, the EU will impose the same visa ban on St. Kitts also after five years for example, who knows?? because all the pretexts of the European Commission against vanuatu are abyss and the hidden reason behind the visa ban is that the European Commissioner targets all countries with a program Citizenship by Investment with Visa Waiver Agreement at the same time. The European Commission targeting process extends even to the countries of the Union that grant citizenship to investors.

If I had used my Portuguese passport, I’m not so sure, because as long as I could understand, Europeans are allowed to come to the US as a tourist visa free, therefore open a bank account as main purpose could generate some miscommunication issues.

Funny, because I was just there for a Layover, I checked out the city and it’s a shithole. I saw a lot of poverty that you would never see in Australia.
