Happy anniversary! I’m making banana pudding for Thanksgiving. The key is adding sweetened condensed milk to the pudding (and a pineapple layer, if you wish). I make a mean chicken pot pie. Gosh, y’all made me hungry!
I used to think this way as well but I have changed my tune on the upcharges and add-ons. Hold on tight because I am gonna go deep on this answer. Lots of people get hung up on the extra charges and say how the cruise companies are nickel and diming people to death but the way I am looking at it is that the cruise is appealing to the widest array of people this way by allowing people to do budget friendly cruises, while others do extravagantly elegant cruises on the same ship with the same itinerary. What you see for your cruise is the base price for whatever room category you choose, including a room, transportation to various destinations, sufficient food including snacks and any meal you can think of and basic drinks, along with entertainment and access to pools and gyms. This is enough for many people who are on a budget but allows them to travel to other countries, without worrying about what it is like to fly into another country or book a new country a day like a cruise can. There are also people like us, who like some of the finer things in life and will pay an extra $500+ and $1200 for dining packages and drinks if we want them. If a person doesn't care about the upscale restaurants or if they don't drink alcohol, then it doesn't make sense for that person to have to pay extra to cover if they were to want them like at an all inclusive resort like Sandals. Same can be said about excursions - For some it is enough to just get off in the port and say I stepped foot in the Bahamas, others want to pay the often high price tag to get a helicopter ride on a glacier, or get taken to a castle in Europe. But both can experience it their own way I have come to appreciate that there are upscale options on these large cruise ships that we can experience or save some money and skip out on. The best part about it is that it allows more people to experience the world thru traveling. I hate the idea that traveling must be done this way or that way, or that it is only for the wealthy. By having certain packages as an additional cost allows this to happen.
What a great first day in the casino. And cute matchy-matchy clothes. What is "Prime" that gives you casino drinks? I'm a drink package over food package kinda gal.

Prime is the status you get from earning 2500 tier points annually in the casino for Royal Caribbean Playing in the casino to a certain level already gets you “free” cruise offers where the only thing we have to pay for is taxes, port fees and gratuities. These offers are for select cruises on select dates for differing levels of rooms based on points earned Prime status gets you one free “Prime” cruise which is an interior room on basically any cruise on any date. You can combine two prime cruises to upgrade from interior to window or window to balcony etc The other key to Prime status is getting free drinks in the casino when the machines are on. This is while gaming or at the bar in the casino. The drink package typically runs you $1000-$1200 for a couple on a 7 night cruise so this is a huge way to save on money when doing multiple cruises a year. Status must be earned annually and resets the first of April
In the past we have felt that Giovannis was better. This was definitely an off occurrence though. The biggest issue we had was how slow it was. This could have been simply from the fact that it was embarkation day and the restaurant was overwhelmed with going from zero customers to a completely full restaurant at 12 noon. We prefer the pasta at Jamies, but have preferred the apps and pizza at Giovannis in the past - the lack of cheese in the lasagna was also a disappointment this time around, but we have loved it in the past.
