    Thank you, this was one of the easiest videos I have seen for bowl covers. The fact that you cut the material larger in the beginning than most of the videos I have seen, makes them usable for more sizes of bowls. Your instructions were flawless too! I am definitely using your instructions to make these from now on! Can't wait to see your other videos!

    I am so grateful for this tutorial! I could not figure out when to make the casing and add the elastic! My steps were off, so I am so happy that you show the correct way to do this!! Very easy and through instructions…..THANK YOU!! 👍🏻

    Nice video tutorial. 😊 i was glad to see the straight stitch worked for you. usually a zig zag is stretchier with these kind of projects.

    i have watched several of these videos about the beeswax. very much worth the effort. beeswax is antibacterial. it smells good and only requires a rinse with cool water to clean. your covers are wonderful.

    Nicely done. I will make several to use as gifts.
    Finishing the fabric with bees wax, I believe, would not allow machine washing of the bowl covers.

    • @ScrappyPatch
      @ScrappyPatch  7 років тому

      You are correct, You would only be able to wipe them down with a dish cloth if using the bees wax

      I said it above, but if you want a washable water resistant bowl cover use PUL fabric.

    Great video! Have you considered using thin, vinyl instead of beeswax? That would make them waterproof and still washable, although I doubt they could be put in the dryer.

    Hey stranger, have these held up well? Did you find you used them often or were they a pain to maintain? I am starting to think ahead on next year's Christmas craft projects. Lol

    • @ScrappyPatch
      @ScrappyPatch  5 років тому +4

      Hey Mark, No they're not a pain to maintain. I've washed them quite a bit and they're still kicking. I use them mostly outside when bbqing and to cover my bowl when I'm letting my dough rise.

    I like to overlap the elastic and sew an X instead of sewing the two edges vertically. The elastic s flatter in the casing.

    “If you’re a bee-product-free vegan, you can substitute beeswax for candelilla wax. While it works well on it’s own, I think it’s best with the pine resin.” Bees are dying and going extinct this product is a good idea but not if it feeds another problem.

    If you want it water resistant just use PUL fabric.
