'The Spine' and 'Rabbit' are twins. Rabbit has since transitioned to Bunny. I must admit I miss Rabbit but regardless of gender the talent is unmistakable. Great band.
Rabbit seemed to lose some of the spark after transitioning. The voice wasn't as crisp and the movements lost some of the acuteness. I dunno. Just never felt the same. I also think the Rabbit aesthetic was so on point and it changed to dramatically.

Their sound changes quite a bit from album to album, especially since their third singer (in this, it's the red suspenders guy) has changed a few times. And also the lead singer depends on the song. The guitarist and the lead singer in this are twins, and the lead singer has since transitioned, so her voice has changed quite a bit. Silver guitarist: The Spine, Lead Singer: Rabbit, Red suspenders guy: The Jon. The Jon was replaced by Hatchworth, who was later replaced by Zer0. The Spine has an insane vocal range, I recommend you check out the video for The Stars.
Id also like to mention the contrast of “robots” (something that’s supposed to be “unfeeling” or “not alive”) musing over the loss of love. Its pretty poetic if you ask me.

They go through a lot of different styles. The idea sort of being theyve picked up all these styles over centuries as immortal robots attempting to adapt to current times.
You might want to check out their covers of Diamonds or Harder Better Faster Stronger, or maybe one of their other big or new songs, like Brass Goggles or Hot on the Trail. Of these, since you find The Spine (guitarist) creepy I totally suggest Diamonds or Hot on the Trail :)

"A Beautiful Nightmare" was EXACTLY my first reaction to this video and song. It was haunting, sad, but also somehow was a song I just knew deep down inside as if I've always known it . Strange? Yes, and very curious. That feeling is still present all these years later , but, for me, over the years it's become just beautiful.
"Automatonic Electronic Harmonics" would be a good next song to ease into their history. Also "Brass Goggle" or "Fire, Fire". IMO, save "Malfunction" and "Transform" for later on. This band has gone though A LOT of changes over the years, but always make great original music.
Another vote for Automatonic Electronic Harmonics by SPG - they have such a catalog of great tracks it's hard to choose, but the song is only half the performance :)

I would love to see the Spine (the guitarist) on an episode of Westworld as an 'Early Prototype' that accidentally kills someone without realizing or changing expression. When he does realize something is wrong, he asks the handler something like, "Oh did I break my colleague?", "NO! That was fucking Stan from Maintenance! You killed him!", "Oh...he cannot be repaired? I am sorry." [steam power down noises] I think of them as mimes singing in a Doo-Wop/ Barbershop quartet/Crooner style, portraying robots communication about the human condition; heartbreak, happiness, community, loneliness, among others.

Let me recommend No Tears Left To Cry, Never Enough, Evolution Of Girl Groups Senorita ect...👉(WATCH their videos till the END ) so you'll know who is who. THEY ARE AMAZING!! The other group Scott co-founded is an ALL ACAPELLA KIDS group called Acapop KIDS! They have bass and beatboxers there are about 25 kids! Different kids ate featured in the videos to allow them to shine! Let me suggest: High Hopes, Bohemien Rhapsody/Somebody To Love, Fix You, Valerie ect.... 🤓👉These groups are the brainchild of Scott with the help of Ben Bram, and Shams Ahmed.
I only recently discovered this band...I like Steampunk, so I found them in a search on UA-cam. This song gets covered a lot by amateur bands, also on UA-cam. It's just a sweet, sad love song. The lead singer, who is transgendered and has since transitioned to female, wrote this song after a breakup with a girlfriend.
I know it sounds terrible, but I was madly in love with this lead singer before they discovered themselves as transgender. What a wonderful voice here and now it’s just cheesy jokes and falsetto.

SPG is one of my favorite bands. My teenage daughter played Honeybee for me back in 2014 and I was hooked. So glad you like them.
