Combining the best aspects of classic motor city style with a skilled and thorough restoration, this substantial Cadillac is the perfect car for any enthusiast who wants to ooze old school swagger!
An exceptionally solid survivor, this stunning convertible was completely disassembled, carefully modified and professionally restored by Malone Enterprises in Elkmont, Alabama. As you can tell from our documentation photos, the car was purchased in flat black and only required repairs to its hood and trunk to present a better-than-new appearance. Once those panels were patched, and sufficiently shaved, six coats of primer were alternated between six episodes of block-sanding, subjected to two installments of wet-sanding and covered in six layers of blue paint. When that paint dried, a thick clearcoat shell was sanded and buffed two more times to complete a three year, $181K restoration. And two years later, when the car's current owner came into the mix, he spent an additional $58K on slick black paint and a fresh leather interior.
Restored by Mitchell's Racing Engines, and seated in a custom, body-matched bay, this Caddy's luxurious, 500 cubic inch V8 benefits from a full-scale detailing. At the top of its sinister black block, a silver-hued goddess rides a polished air cleaner that funnels wind into a coated Edelbrock 850 carburetor. That carburetor feeds a familiar Edelbrock Performer intake that's seated between big, "Cadillac" branded valve covers. At the front of those valve covers, a modern HEI distributor sequences fire through 8mm High Energy Wires. Those wires snake around ceramic coated, long-tube headers that dump charred gas into aluminized, true-dual pipes. In front of those headers, a custom fabricated Malone radiator sends coolant around a quick-spinning puller fan via bright, billet pulleys.
Take a look under this super solid cruiser and you'll find a fully sorted chassis that, despite its road-ready mechanicals, is exceptionally clean and displays very few signs of wear. The front suspension was completely rebuilt using a '73 Firebird sub-frame and, like the modified Cadillac rear suspension, is currently fitted with adjustable air bags. Behind the big engine, a proven GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed makes good use of a sturdy, 10-bolt rear end. And at the corners of the car, traditional steel wheels spin 235/75R15 BF Goodrich whitewalls around dreamy Fleetwood hub caps.
Clean, tailored and ready to roll, this Series 62's fresh leather interior features a perfect mix of outrageous style and traditional American luxury. The plush bucket seats are stuffed with firm padding and decked in striking, two-tone patterns. In front of those seats, a leather-trimmed dash hangs clean Classic Instruments gauges above billet components for Vintage Air climate control. Below that dash, a custom, full-length console centers buttons for the car's power top and air ride suspension under a modern Clarion sound system. In front of the driver, a polished Budnik steering wheel spins a color-keyed rim around a polished Ididit steering column.

A restomod or hotrod should never be confused with a restoration, which this is most definitely not.
OH SO TRUE
OMG one of the most beautifuls cars ever made... I'm in Love with this Cady ❤️😍
...given all the modern manufacturing tech available, they should keep making these!
Then it wouldn’t be so special. Times gone. And honestly I don’t know any human being even worthy of this automobile. The way people let people talk about the word of God.
Sorry -- a "restoration" of an "exceptionally solid survivor" means that she would be running the 150 hp flathead and a Hydramatic. There is nothing "original" about what has been done to this car. Another commenter mentioned a "pimped out" look; I can't think of a better description.
I hate the ghetto look, but drug dealers have to do something with their money.
not to mention the complete loss of value. had they kept it all original it would be worth something but now nothing.
That is an automobile outstanding luxury it is not just a plain old car like they make today the car they make today are junk
i think this is refreshing and while not for the purest taste i would buy this and enjoy driving it
That is one beautiful car I would love to own
A skilled & thorough restoration, but certainly not original!
I don't know what you can call the result, but it is certainly not a restoration.
Why?
Biff: "They cleaned the manure!"
The interior does no justice to this 47 Caddy. They should have repaired and updated its original glory. It's a shame of a car now.
Beautiful custom Cadillac!
Where's the flathead and mohair ??
The buyer can customized this 1947 Cadillac Series 62. He can chopped the Top by a few inches, tuck and roll, shaved door handles fancy carburetor, and even modify the windshield in one piece unit.
Very beautiful amazing looking car wow just love it
Beautiful car. Won't see one of them at the parking lot of your local Wal-Mart.
Very disappointed ! What is there left that's "vintage original" ? Much too many after market gussing up. Better that this Caddy should appear in the "CUSTOMISED AUTO" channels. Other wise, I WILL admit, she is quite beautiful, for a NON original "customised" Caddy. Just MY OWN personal opinion, that's all. Thank You !
Damn that's one clean looking car
Por que tienes que maldecir no puedes utilizar otros términos?
🤣🤣🤣🤣aaahhh sh4dd444p!!!
Amistades 🤣🤣🤣
They really FUCKED IT UP!
😷👍
Beautifulllllll car
what a beauty!
I was glad to see that it didn't have a Chevrolet engine!!!! Good work!! But wrong interior style for this Beautiful car.
Beautiful!!!
Should have kept this one Original.

very very nice Car
Wonderful 👍👍👍
Wonderfull machine 🇨🇱🇨🇱👍🏻
A lot of smoke coming from the exhaust pipes .
Everyone stop jumping the ban wagon. The car is beautiful. Would it be better original? Yeah probably but its not orginal so get over it. It is still stunning
Another fopped up classic.
Oh so cool 😎
All that and you couldn't hang the driver side tail pipe correctly?
looked good till the side view and how they really fucked up the ride height .. other wise a fine restore and modern driver ...
Should have kept this one all Original
Is this on airlift suspension? It looked so low when you were reving the car😅
Im in love
Wow over a quarter million into this?! Someone lost A LOT of money.
Beau car
Beautiful! Not overdone

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can tell me how they can still call this a 1947 Cadillac? Seems like all they did was take a 1947 "shell" and modernize it and supe it up with new motor, new interior, all the modern bells and whistles. Personally, I prefer a pristine original restoration.
I have. 1947 caddy convertible …all original all parts…motor tranny…can anyone tell me a value on it not assembled?
MAYBE A "PURIST" LIKE JAY LENO WOULD HAVE DONE IT RIGHT (RESTORED IT TO FACTORY SHOWROOM CONDITION). CERTAINLY NO EXPENSE WOULD HAVE BEEN SPARED.
These kind of cars need a tanker truck as an option. Try driving this beast over a speed bump. LOL. The word practical is no longer in service.
If it's available, how much is the price will it be today 🤔
carretão mandado !!
Wowww.
The interior, should be trashed...Find an original dash, and seats and help restore the cars soul...
Someone please buy this and do it right !
😍😍😍
The car looks like it needs a new suspension. The interior looks like it is a new minivan.
Someone took a very desirable and beautiful '47 Cadillac and took away the car's character while adding ridiculous "upgrades". The interior is completely ruined for example. Shameful.
I like it. 😊👍
@Rich H I hope you would take the original handling as to keep it authentic and not ruin it lol I appreciate what it is *a classic in a modern era.*
It's a shame that this once classic car has been "improved". To me, it's now worthless.
Some people are like you and some aren’t. Worthless is a pretty extreme adjective for something so beautiful. It’s a shame people have become so judgemental and closed to different opinions. Fortunately there are lots of cars restored to original specs, for people to enjoy as well as lots of customs created for people who appreciate them.
They fucked up this classic vintage ride with that god awful interior, should have restored it 2 it's original state, then it would be worth posting it here on youtube.
no body saying for the cost sale or not
😱😱muito lindooo 😍
👏👏👏👍
What a shame.
As they used to say at the car dealership EASY OFF The CURB ,😀😏😉😋😁
Yea your right, messed up a Classic... Classic with a capital C.
That poor car!!!!
Interior colors are too "browney" too 70's.
Nice car! too bad you have it
Bro ppl keep talking bout the interior bro it’s the outside of the car that matter bro it could have a candy pink interior for all I care
It’s crazy that it costs that much to ruin a Cadillac.
Why do restorers think that slamming it so low is a good look for every car? This look doesn't always work...get that through your heads!
I got one
I personally like original restorations much more than "resto-mods" because I feel people go way overboard and end up with a thoroughly ugly (in my opinion), bastardized vehicle, which cannot rightly be called the original vehicle that it was; and I respect the originality and historicity of old cars. With that said, having worked in body and upholstery shops, and on many cars over the years (yes, even my own resto-mods), I respect and admire very much quality workmanship. And I think somebody did a very impressive job with this Cadillac! I especially like the fact that they kept the exterior looking original, but lowered (which doesn't bother me at all!). I hope though, that the car was a total basket-case to start with (and not a clean original). I would drive this!
Better than the original!!!!
$250 K to destroy the interior of this beautiful car. I can't figure out customizers buy these elegant old cars and then remove everything that made them elegant old cars. It would be cheaper to buy an Escalade and cut the roof off.
I personally would think this car would look and perform way better if it has about 10" more ground clearance.
🚖🌍🚦
I'm not sure what this is. It's not a restoration. Is it a hot rod hiding in a 1947 Caddy shell?
Sad.
NEVER touch the interiour....subframe (as long as wheels are not flushmounted like in that example) and motor is ok...but not the interior!!!!!!
Very bad donne, cars MUST be like they were born ! Black ball !
No ORIGINAL
bastardized. shame!
They ruined a beautiful car.
Interior is hideous 🤮
Ruined the interior
VERY bad idea of customize a car like this Cad,stupid to say the truth.
Horrible.The original character is lost.
