You do not need to convert to 12 volts. Just use thick 1 gauge battery cables, not 4 gauge cables that you get from chain auto parts stores, and use a Group 2 or larger battery, not a puny little Group 1 battery. If you still want more power, just use an 8 volt battery. Nothing needs to be replaced. 8 volts will not hurt 6 volt items. You only need to have the voltage regulator re-calibrated. Classic cars should be kept STOCK.
I had my eye on a similar type years ago in mint green, couldn't afford it though.😢 Recall it priced ¹/⁴ of what one would fetch nowadays .❤ An elegant, exquisite design, new when I was an infant.
Packard planted to seeds well before then, by coming out with that 6 cylinder 110/115, equipping the brand new 41 Clipper with the small 282 cube engine instead of the new 356 engine, putting the 1942 Clipper 120 on a short 120 inch wheelbase, (starting 1940, Packard started upgrading the 120 into more of a true luxury car, but with the stubby 1942 120, knocked it right back down to Medium-priced territory), continuing to produced cheaper cars, including the 6 cyl, after the war, and putting the 51 - 54 hardtops and convertibles on the Junior chassis instead of the Senior chassis. It was a comedy of errors.
One of my very most favorite’s!
This is a great car. I've got my eyes on a 4 door model. Saving for it. Just such nice cars.
Nicely done

The 1948 Cadillac was the end of Packard.
