In 2021 if you can get an open box deal off Ebay for around $400 it is worth the try for a beginner or someone on a tight budget. You would have to learn to live with lag video feed on the remote.

I have it from last two years and still fly like a new drone and I have 3 batteries and never had issue with them as it is very smart and comes back to home when battery is very low and also when you lost your connection just in case, pretty cool :)
I have a Spark, which I haven't been using much, I live in the city so it's difficult to find spots to send it. There is currently a Mavic Air Combo at Fnac for 599€, the Mini 2 Combo is a tad cheaper but obstacle avoidance is a must for me (also could be a bummer because of these alarms all the time), so, should I get the the Air Combo at this price tag? Or get the Air 2? Also how did you get those reddish propellers, they are really stylisshh?

Hi Mate, Kia Ora. I lived in nelson and then wellington for 10 years. I flew my DJI phantom 3 professional heaps and never had a problem. But that was 4 years ago. I'm not quite sure how the regulations have changed in NZ but I would check the app B4UFly. It might work in NZ and give you some info in regard to legal fly zones. Greetings from San Francisco. I'm looking to get something that won't break the bank as a tool for work (home inspections) and something I can have fun with in spare time. I'm a big car fan and would love to take it to car meets. @@angelgotti3273 FCC mode is what American uses for its air space , in drone terms it allows a stronger signal to go to our Drones because in Europe and the UK we are in ce mode which is not as strong so you can't go as far out with your drone . I've bought an English version of the Mavic air but have done a simple hack to make it think it's in the USA so I get full signal . If you're interested it's very simple and is a one off thing to do which costs nothing . Does that explain it ok 👍 if you want the link just let me know ! It's simple

Hi Rick, thanks for the kinds words. "Entry level Drone", I know it's a controversial term. What's "entry" about $500 - $800? LOL I call them that because the "pro" versions of the DJI drones (eg: Mavic 2 Pro) have much better cameras and therefore cost double that. YES, the DJI Mini is good, but the DJI Mini 2 is great! So if you could save up a bit more, or can find a used one, I would definitely go for the DJI Mini 2. I might get it myself for the sheer portability of it. If you can find a good deal (or find it at all) then I would definitely recommend it. If it’s out of stock everywhere, look into the Mavic Mini 2. It’s $49 more, but is more lightweight, has the newer app (which may or may not be a good thing) and now also shoots 4K. In other words, don’t get the Mavic Mini 1. Yes it's very easy to fly. All the DJI Drones are great for starting out because the drones are very reliable, hover steadily in exactly the same spot using GPS support and the apps are easy to learn. Also they have a bunch of built in "QuickShot" modes where you can get really cool cinematic effects without having to fly yourself. Hope that helps and Happy Holidays!
Enjoyed the video, but living in UK with NIMBYs and hysterical jerks who hate cameras and drones, it's really not worth it any more. Sure we can go and shoot landscapes and the coast without people, but apps here for these drones cause a lot of problems.
Yes I heard that Europe is really tightening the rules there. What a bummer. My friends in Germany say you can basically fly nowhere at all. Might be worth looking into the DJI Mavic Mini as it's under 250g and might not apply to some of the European rules. Don't quote me on that, but might be worth a quick research on google. Yes good point. It really is. You can combat that a little bit with “quiet propellors” for an extra $22 on Amazon. However, it’s still louder then the Mavic Air 2. Much cheaper though :)

DJI is the Rolls Royce of Drones. Lots of 2nd hands for a good price. go Air or Air 2 over the mini, IMO.

Yes, pretty similar, especially for beginners who don't "need" much of the newer features. I love the Air 2 for 4K @ 60 FPS.
