Your voice has changed a lot. I haven’t missed you that much because I’ve rewatched your videos over and over again. Please don’t go away again. Thanks

@@Jondoe_04 I don’t go to church, my faith wavers and ebbs and flows over time. I don’t choose the path of devotion like I should. I’m pretty self-centered and fearful a lot of the time. Sometimes I struggle to believe in the resurrection. I don’t pray like I should and it feels awkward when I do. A part of me still holds back. But, I learned a few years ago about the value of faith. I noticed Christianity is the most reviled religion in our modern society and that made me interested in looking into it. I used to be a bit of a conspiracy theorist and I guess I realized the ultimate conspiracy theory is God’s real. He must be because I believe the devil, and sin exist. And Mr. Reeve’s videos about Tolkien and Lewis, I respected these intellects and come to find out they believed and it lit a tiny spark of interest in exploring the Bible for myself. Mine did, and he was Jewish. His love of the humanities and art, and the trajectory of Western Civilization left a lasting impression. His love of the mosaics of Ravenna eventually sent me there. He taught that Judiaism found the near-sacrifice of Isaac as the foundation of the special relationship between God and Abraham's descendants. But I realized immediately, that this was a foreshadowing of what God had planned to do for us with his son. Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his own son on behalf of God may have made God all the more willing to return the favor, but for all of us. He loved Plato, he loved the Iliad and the Odyssey, and the sculpture of the ancient world. I think everyone needs to have the class I had with him.
Three years ago I watched all of your videos over the course of about three months while I was looking for what I have since found in the Orthodox Church ☦️ but I just want to thank you for the great education that I received from your lectures. 🙏 God bless!
I'm so happy you are back. Your videos on the early Church inspired me and changed my view on things. Ever since I've been reading books on Church history and devouring the information, and fell in love with the Church Fathers and their wealth of wisdom, and their love and passion for Jesus Christ. I eventually ended up finding the Orthodox Church and calling it home. I appreciate that you try not to be biased, as much as possible anyway, Ultimately I believe neutrality is a myth. But you have a good balance in delivering the facts in the context of history. Very glad to have you back! I look forward to it all!
I literally just bought and hung up this painting in my reading room a week ago as a tribute to God’s redeeming love for me…Drawing me back home this past year. I’ve also been excited to see you return to UA-cam as your videos have benefited me in my walk with God. Glad you are back and what an awesome video!

From a Traditionalist & a fellow, L.W. Highlander, Thank You! I have learned a lot and so happy you are back. Your teaching on the Apostolic Fathers in the early Catholic Church and so much more has been phenomenal. It is fitting you have the story of the Prodigal Son.
I was so pleased to see that you are back. I love Christian history. I watched it and then watched it again with my wife (who is a Christian artist painting and photography). She also really enjoyed this video. We both just ask that next time the music is turned down compared to your voice. It got distracting but THANK YOU so much and we look forward to your future work.
Very well done. Thank you for investing so much time in this. It increased my appreciation for history, art and Rembrandt himself. I also appreciate that you brought out Rembrandt's intimacy in his depiction of Biblical themes. Watched it for a 2nd time with my wife. Looking forward to more. (Loved your Church History series!!!)
Being an artist myself, I knew about Rembrandt, his lighting, brushwork and technique - but never knew this part about his life. 😮🥲 Amazing video again, mr Reeves, this one touches very deeply. ❤
Thanks for the video Ryan. I've really connected with this painting since my conversion/reversion to faith. I'm Catholic, so I don't entirely agree with your view on some things, but many of your videos helped open me up to Christianity and I'm thankful for that. Keep making these videos. God bless.
I am so glad you are back. Your videos have been an inspiration to me. I have used many of them to help teach Christian history in my church. Thank you for all you do and please do not stop putting out content.

Such a moving and captivating rendering of that great parable by Rembrandt , and beautifully narrated and edited by Ryan Reeves, that I was suspended in time for a moment !
Welcome back! Im excited to get new videos from you. Your church history playlists on your channel were my first deep dive into the subject and were much appreciated as a Protestant who felt so untethered from and ignored of most of church history. And as a Lewis and Tolkien fan, I loved that series as well.

I really enjoy your videos and have found them to be really informative. A number of them I've watched over and over again. Looking forward to what you produce next 😁. One bit of constructive criticism, I did find the level of the background music to be a bit high and therefore distracting for your latest video. I don't know if that's just me as I'm a little hard of hearing 😅

As a security guard who works at a gallery that shows Rembrandt this makes it all the more interesting.
Every time I encounter the story of the Prodigal Son, I end up teary-eyed. Lovely to be able to see how Rembrandt focused in on this gospel moment.
My favourite Rembrandt is the painting of Jeremiah. And i loved your excursion into Michaelangelo's The Pieta
