    I watched this video with my wife. She actually looked up the 28 cu fridge in Lowes dept store. Here in North Carolina it cost $1,300 in Jamaica you were paying 1,570 so in Jamaica it cost $270 more, that is not bad. 🙂 We could Never get as much fruits and vegetables with $60 here she said that was the best part of your shopping.

      The original price is more than $2000 (over $300,000). It’s marked down because of damage.

      @@TheDelprattFamilyOh we never saw the damage. $700 is a big difference. However I gotta say things are just as expensive here. Fruits and vegetable prices are crazy high. More Jamaicans should take the time like you guys and visit the markets or Fruit Stands prices are good at those places.

      @drewski1441, I was saying the same thing. I spend over $300.00 every 2 weeks on grocery here in Georgia. Atleast the fruits and vegetables taste so much better compare to here these forced ripe or green fruits. We can pay the fruits half ripe and when we think it is ripe inside is black😢. We must all learn to appreciate our island Jamaica

      I think that the perception of a lot of Jamaicans is that when you live in the states you are making a lot of money and also you can pick up money from the ground. A lot of people are only making minimum wage, some people have to be sharing an apartment with two or three to help pay the rent, and some drive, some take the bus to work it’s credit card that save a lot of us, and any where they can find food giving alway they find it, and that’s no shame. So please people stop thinking that because we live in the US we all earn much more than Jamaicans, we are having it just as hard.

      @ifyouhavelivedtv Рік тому

      Just came back from Jamaica and I did a price comparison in a few of the supermarkets and everything I looked at was more than half the price we paid for the same items in the USA. For example: I a Jamaica bun cost $145 JA. That same bun in the USA cost $2.50. The exchange rate, if we must go there is $151. JA/USA. Jamaican are living better that us. A dollar is a dollar in its own country. The problem is, some Jamaican rejected their natural grown item for imported items that had to go through all that testing before hitting the shelves.

    • @TheDelprattFamily
      @TheDelprattFamily  Рік тому +1

      @@ifyouhavelivedtv that dollar is a dollar argument I always find ridiculous because minimum wage in Jamaica is like $13000/week, which is less than $100 USD. that’s the issue the ordinary Jamaican have living here. Of course you can say a dollar is a dollar because you travel here will your USD salary and convert it to spend so of course it’ll feel the same for you but remember, the common man here earns less than $100/week and he would have a family to feed out of that.

    Hi Delprat Family , I don't agree with your reason for promoting the use of USA currency in Jamaica. Is Price Mart prices in $US Dollars ? It is not clear to me what you're doing.🇲🇾 USA, Canadian 🇨🇦and British 🇬🇧visitors probably do benefit from the currency exchanges. I agree , a minimum wage person would not be able to get hold of USA currency to shop in a Supermarket in Jamaica. So for that reason, why not promote our Jamaican 🇯🇲 Currency?
    A few months ago I was in Jamaica, and I was delighted to see some Souvenirs in a section of the Supermarket that I shopped. They were priced at Jamaican currency. As a Yardy Visitor, that's what I like to see. Stay blessed! 🙏 🇯🇲🇨🇦

      It’s not about promotion. We’ve been creating UA-cam content for a few years now and seen feedback on many videos prior. You don’t need to be offended. We were spending Jamaican dollars if you watched the video but it’s just a way for some international viewers to get some perspective. Some don’t understand the conversion so when we talk about Jamaican dollars, they are confused. We get a lot of comments from persons asking “how much is it in USD?”.
