Great kit, dude! Love the idea of changing the tom mounts to the bottoms. Been thinking of upgrading cymbals. Have had ZBTs for years. Might give Wujan a shot.
I've done the same as you! I have my ride on a boom stand with the down tube mounted to the kick tom stand, in place of the 3rd rack tom which I don't use for the same reason as you.
Sometimes I use the bottom of my ride stand to mount the 3rd rack tom like a floor tom, to have 2 up 2 down instead of 3 up 1 down.
The pearl tom mounts are by far my favourite because they fit in cymbal stands and they're super secure. My smallest tom is on my left crash stand with one of those double clamps
For your kick drum.
Try tuning your heads really low.
And then taking almost all your muffling out and only have a little bit of it touching your front head and none of it touching your batter head.
Then when your doing eq, turn your kids and highs up.
Huge sounding kick with great feel.
Really great for rock and metal.
Lots of attack.
Try it some time.
I have been a sub for a long while. I will be honest most of the songs you play I am not a fan of its just not my style but you are seriously a great drummer. Interesting how you have it all set up and it all makes very good sense. It also sounds great on this end. Keep up the great drumming and thanks for sharing!

You can easily fit another cowbell into the space by the ride! Also what happened to the foot cam I've been missing it a lot recently!
hey josh why dont you try the dillinger escape plan....i think you will find their music very challenging but you will also find it interesting.
I have the original genuine R.I.M.S. mounts from the mid 90’s and I have no problem getting my rack toms close. It’s possible the mounting tabs on mine are more low profile. Those Wuhan splashes sound good. I have a few of the 12” China’s but I’ll have to grab a few of the splashes.

I like a ride cymbal, the stuff I play require one,so I would be lost without one.
Buy another bass drum, throw both out wide and lower the toms like you want. Kinda like the Machine Head drummer. And mount those cymbals you have beside the floor tom!!
Darude Sandstorm But they are pain in the ass to keep both in tune, also lot of work to match the pedal settings. And I won't even get into space they take up and hihat issues
Slave pedal takes away the tuning and bass drum settings, but yes space is always an issue along with the hi-hats.

Oh my god man, I know your pain. Everytime I get new shit for my drumset and I have to rearrange a few things, it always fucks something else up. Sometimes its hard to stop my splashes and stack especially from crawling away from me with the extensions I have
Saluda Cymbals offer a lifetime edge warranty. Also, I beat the fuck out of cymbals and both of my crashes lasted over a year before having to replace them. Super cheap prices as well.
With the way my drum set is set up, I have my 3 rack toms right next to each other as close as I can get away with and I can have them so close because the way PDP (and DW but I’m too cheap to buy DW shit) does the mounting thing is that it’s being held up by the lugs so it’s not sticking out at all and I can get my toms right next to each other with out having to have the mount in any weird way

Josh Steffen I have some K hi hats and that cymbal in my set up. The ride really cuts so it's all I need! I highly recommend it!
Josh I understand the having to make due with what you have I have two cymbal stands but I have 3 cymbals and so I made a stand useing a drum stick with no tip and a Tom holder and a table and a one of those Tom mounts to connect a Tom to a cymbal stand this I made it for my China it works alright defiantly not the best option.

Yo Josh, about your ride. Have you thought about trying to setup your ride like Danny Carey or Nicko McBrain? That way you got more room for percussive instruments and all you have to do is move a crash

A solution to your ride cymbal problem is to put almost straight up and play it vertically. UA-cam jay weinbergs slipknot play throughs. keep killing it
To do angel of death with a vertical ride cymbal would be simply unacceptable. It'd ruin it.

i use a 10" saw blade instead of a ride cymbal, pingy as fuck and takes up really little space
