I talked to Robby Naish about that day at Pipeline. It was the day before a bodyboard competition and so the surfers were cleared out. It was also Kona winds, instead of the usual trades, so the waves were standing up well. Ridiculous skills needed to sail that.

Kais board looks narrow thin and low volume. His understanding of board relationship with water is probably unmatched!
