I was on a bus today and overheard 2 people talking one lady in her late 30s the other guy was 19. The 19 year old was born in February and did not know that every 4 years there were 29 days in February. But when the the 39 year old asked him how many days were in a year, he proudly yelled out 365 like he had answered a question to win a million dollars. But now, seeing how people from the number 1 country in the world answer questions, I admit I was wrong. My son is a genius compared to them. At the age of 16 he learned English and knows all the answers, and some of the questions are about other countries and in a foreign language.

DING, approved for English knowledge! Civic knowledge; you need to answer 6 of 10 questions correctly. Having studied the 25 page self explanatory pamphlet for months I felt confident. I answered the first 6 questions correctly; Mention a state that borders Canada, Mention an Ocean that hits the American shores, How many states are there in the USA, Which is the Capitol of the USA, Which is the common language in America and On which date does America celebrate its Independence? Since i got those questions right, nothing further was demanded of me, and I became an American citizen. I thought it was ridiculous until I saw this video. What are these people taught??? If anyone under 30 is asked a math question they can't do it in their head even something like 33 divided by 3, they need a calculator. The schools should teach math at the very least, if not a few more subjects, the old fashioned way like us boomers had to do. We had to do math either in our heads or show work on the page. If we had used a calculator we would have gotten an immediate F and our paper torn up in front of the whole class. Even when using computers at a current job that requires math, a worker should have a better grasp at the math especially if they work at a financial institution. I wouldn't want my records worked on by someone who can't do math without a calculator or better understanding of higher math. It is shameful that these people have no idea about science, even while watching sci-fi tv shows they still don't know how many moons the earth has, insane! 😮

I feel like crying - I'm 72. These were 3rd grade questions in my day. Americans, apparently, no longer care about its children. Parents have to educate themselves so they can educate their children. No longer can be left up to , just, schools.

My grandson had a hard time learning to read. During COVID when students stayed home, I home schooled him. He is now the 2nd best reader in his class. Home schooling paid off

But now, seeing how people from the number 1 country in the world answer questions, I admit I was wrong. My son is a genius compared to them. DING, approved for English knowledge! Civic knowledge; you need to answer 6 of 10 questions correctly. Having studied the 25 page self explanatory pamphlet for months I felt confident. I answered the first 6 questions correctly; Mention a state that borders Canada, Mention an Ocean that hits the American shores, How many states are there in the USA, Which is the Capitol of the USA, Which is the common language in America and On which date does America celebrate its Independence? Since i got those questions right, nothing further was demanded of me, and I became an American citizen. I thought it was ridiculous until I saw this video. What are these people taught??? This is what happens when teachers are required to pass students regardless of their achievement.

Schools shouldn't allow cell phones or calculators. These young adults have no brains.

If anyone under 30 is asked a math question they can't do it in their head even something like 33 divided by 3, they need a calculator. The schools should teach math at the very least, if not a few more subjects, the old fashioned way like us boomers had to do. We had to do math either in our heads or show work on the page. If we had used a calculator we would have gotten an immediate F and our paper torn up in front of the whole class. Even when using computers at a current job that requires math, a worker should have a better grasp at the math especially if they work at a financial institution. I wouldn't want my records worked on by someone who can't do math without a calculator or better understanding of higher math. It is shameful that these people have no idea about science, even while watching sci-fi tv shows they still don't know how many moons the earth has, insane! 😮
