I love how after Tyr spends the last round in the gun he throws it as a projectile weapon. It seems like the essense of his character in one snapshot.

Yeah, the whole thing with him basically hijacking his sons destiny and trying to rule the nicheans didnt really make any sense
It didnt suit his character at all, nothing he did after that did either
But he was still cool early on

And what I love is how this scene FULLY portrays how even though Tyr 'acts' condescending towards Harper most of the time Tyr actually RESPECTED Harper, and was using his belligerent attitude to try to make Harper get tougher and better.
A PERFECT example is when Tyr says "shall we dance Master Harper" and Harper says: "you DO care". Afterwards Harper took out several Magog using ONLY a knife in hand-to-hand combat, and Tyr DIDN'T last much longer than Harper before being overwhelmed himself.
At least that's my opinion anyway

    • @Robert-hz9bj
      @Robert-hz9bj Рік тому +6

I think, in that moment, Tyr's joy came from seeing a human, especially one as cowardly and irritating as Harper usually is, act above his fear and embrace the chance to fight for survival. The heart of Nietzche's philosophy is not strength of body, but of will. The will to survive, to seek power, to do what is challenging rather than what is comfortable or easy. In that moment, Harper was a Nietzchean in the truest sense, sacrificing the chance for a painless death to fight a hopeless battle. Tyr couldn't be happier.

@@Robert-hz9bj you know, you make an interesting and awesome point dude, and one aspect of the scene I hadn't considered. To me, that simply enhances the respect and pride that Tyr showed toward Harper before they both fought the Magog with only knives as weapons.

The Magog are the creepiest things. And it makes a lot more sense that they were engineered and not natural, given their behaviors and functions

lol, youve definitely never read The Crossed, those are the creepiest things ever
though i do agree about the magog, makes perfect sense given their nature

its a comic book series originally written by Garth Ennis and then expanded on after the original by other comic writers (though Garth did write a few more issues)
Literally every issue is available on "read comic online .to" (just remove the spaces to form the url). Theres quite a few different runs, id recommend starting with the original run (only about 6 issues or so) entitled "The Crossed". After that if it takes your liking check out "Crossed Family Values" and "Crossed Psychopath", theres more (soooo much more) but those are the ones i recommend ya start with.
Feel free to message me any time if you want suggestions where to move on to next. Each run has different characters surviving in different locations, but some familiar faces do pop up every once and a while (especially the characters from Psychopath)
be warned though (and a severe warning to ANYONE else reading this)
It is NOT for the faint of heart
There are a few issues in Crossed Badlands that were so absoultely fucked up that i will forever be disturbed by them. Long after im old and senile and have forgotten literally every one and every thing i ever cared about this shit will haunt me.
I am a massive fan of horror and believe i can take pretty much anything, but this is extreme and i feel a warning is needed before anyone reads this.
If you have issues with extreme sadism and rape you should never even consider reading this.
that is all, good luck and let me know what you think if you do wind up reading it. Im sorry for the mini essay youve just read but id hate to turn anyone onto something that could potentially scar them for life
If you want something lighter but still in the same general area i can also recommend a comic called God is Dead, also on readcomiconline. Its pretty awesome, clever, well written and wont fuck you up.

This show was so great until the middle of season 2 when they changed Trance. After that it some great episodes here and there, but it wasn't consistent. And 5th season was unrelentingly stupid.

Nietzscheans in Andromeda: "Where there's life there's hope!"
Public view of that: "Cringe! Andromeda's Nietzscheans are just a meme! Nietzsche would turn in his grave!"
Stephen Hawking a few years later: "While there's life there's hope!"
Public view of that: "Awesome! Most intelligent man on Earth! Motivating! So inspiring!"

I've only just started season 2 and so far, its seems Rev isnt short for a magog, that apparently magogs are just short by nature. Despite the second one we actually see talk and fight earlier in season 1 that 7 ft magog in prison. I get that they are wild beasts and obviously dangerous, but sometimes it just looks goofy considering they look half the size of a normal man(i.e. Harpers height). But this scene is so awesome, anything that comes down to a last stand, just throwing hands until you cant anymore.
