I spent alot of hours on this game. Four controller ports on the Dreamcast made this an instant classic. A group of us would play doubles tournaments high and drunk...lol. those battles were serious.
This game was so much FUN. Why is it so hard to have a good tennis game 15 years later! ?

Dreamcast was a big step forward back then. From PS and 64s graphics 128 bit was a big step up. Still looks legit today as others have said. Loved this game..9/9/99 forever

Played EPIC matches with my friends high AF. Turning the music off brought a whole new element to the game.
It's amazing how the gameplay on this game which was made 20+ years ago is still better than its modern contemporaries...
Still way better then most consoles back then, can't believe we got screwed.
The graphics looked much more realer when I was younger and I feel like they moved smoother 😂😂

+mark partridge Because the release of the PS2 was looming over it. The PS2 had huge amounts of BS about its emotion engine, connecting cameras by USB, etc. etc. Everyone thought it would be far superior so waited for that instead of buying a DC. They were all wrong, I never saw anything on the PS2 that looked as good as Soul Calibur via VGA.

Sega was broken they barely released the dreamcast
+MrLinder agree with you. What made the PS2 sell better was the DVD capability. Back in the day dvd players were a luxury and people initially bought the PS2 just for the dvd playback. Ironic that even though the DC was plagued by horrible corporate decisions from Sega people to this day are making games for it... my DC is my go to console with the exception of my original Wii and WiiU

Before VT, never tought I would buy a Tennis game but Damn it was instant hit and bought it on realease. Nostalgia love!
After the Mega Drive, the Dreamcast is my second fave console of all time. Too many groundbreaking games. Cosmic Smash is a game that never got the credit it deserved, although it played in English and only released in Japan. SEGA Rally 2 like for like against the arcade version. Other arcade games like Crazy Taxi, F355 and 18 Wheeler, made me wonder at the time how SEGA pulled those games off on Dreamcast. Too many others to list. Propeller Arena and LA Riders didn’t make it, plus many others. Even the Power Stone games are still awesome.
Damn I forgot all about this game, what a throwback. I put so many hours into this.
Use to play this all the time.. me and my friends had epic battles.

I have this on arcade on raspberry pie. I LOVE this game. I remember buying a Dreamcast and it NEVER worked. I had this game and never realized what I missed until years later lol

This was my dad and I favorite game when I was a kid back in kindergarten in 2002. I played before school after school and even when family came to visit. Also at the time my dad was playing tennis in his college tennis team in Redding California Shasta College.

How do you have your NullDC configured? When I play virtual tennis with NullDC, the shadows either don't appear, or they keep blinking in and out really fast. In your video, the shadow consistently stays. So I've been trying to figure out the best settings to achieve what you've accomplished :)

This game's ai is rigged. Many times it served an out and the game gave points to them.
Complete bullshit. You know how fucking hard it is to hit a return straight down the light like that? That's why I hate these tennis games. Completely unrealistic
