Uriah Heep - Rain (1972)

- Haunting ballad by Uriah Heep from the 1972 album The Magician's Birthday.
It's raining outside
But thats not unusual
But the way that Im feeling
Is becoming usual
I guess you could say
The clouds are moving away
Away from your days
And into mine
Now its raining inside
Its kind of a shame
And its getting to me
A happy man
Why should you want to
Waste all my time
The world is yours
But I am mine
Rain, rain, rain in my tears
Measuring carefully my years
Shame, shame, shame in my mind
See what you've done to my life

Back 50 years ago, we would listen to Uriah Heep. Now at 67 years old, still as good as it was as a teen. When it's just Great music, it's always worth listening. I remember standing outside at sunrise as the song "Sunrise" would blare from the speakers of my 8 track player, in my old 67 Dodge Dart GT.
Hey Im 65 too 😊😄😊 yeah we had some great great music in our younger years. Back when music was really good. Its great though in 2022 you can think of music you want to hear and click WA LA. Who would of thought back then. Lifes something else. Blessings fellow born in 57.
Great, i feel the as you

Uriah Heep has got to be one of the most underrated bands of all time.
Yeah, along with UFO, they are probably the most underrated bands of all time.
@@harleyrider76 Grand Funk.
I agree. .
@@harleyrider76 Yes, UFO is well underrated, in particular when Michael Schenker was playing (but not only)..

Grank Funk was a Great American Band
Great songwriting ,Mark was a great musician but,
The lead guitar playing was terrible!!!
Drummer, and bass player carried the sound
Ken Hensley's delicate & soulful piano & David Byron's delicate & soulful vocals - really speaks volumes!
The early 70's is now a vanished, untouchable & mysterious Paradise, hidden beyond a thick & misty haze!
But here it is.......angelic, beautiful, calm, dreamy, magical, mystical & poised........out of reach for ALL of us!

At least the music lives on,
Mystical POMP!
It seems just yesterday that this song came out. We had the best music. I'm 67 still listening to music.
I feel goosebumps when I hear this as I used to feel during my adolescency 50 years ago. RIP David, Ken, Gary and Lee.
it is so sad to think of the wonderful things these guys did, and then they die. wonderful people just come and go in this world, while too many trash people hang around forever, yeah i'm looking at you politicians
The word is adolescence.

Too bad he died so prematurely. I also think he was one greatist rock singers❤

One of my favorite all time bands. They can do a song like this, and then play the heaviest driving music you'll ever hear.
"The Magician's Birthday" - best of best Uriah Heep's albums

It finally rained today. That's why Uriah Heep's wonderful ballad is very relevant.
Superb..I was 15 at the time, but never heard it. it makes me think all the best songs have been written..😇
As a teen in the mid 70s I carried this album around with me but in 8 track format. The first time I heard this band I was hooked and still listen to Uriah to this day
I saw Uriah Heep in 1976, the Firefly Tour. I was stationed in West Germany. Sadly, David Byron had just left the band. Still, it was a damn fine show. Good, good memories.
Saw Heep with Byron twice last time was just before lineup changed! Byron and John Wetton had some words on stage I couldn't tell what was up but Wetton wasn't happy! He left and Byron was pushed out because of his drinking
One of the best written lovesongs ever and what a voice absolutely class RIP David you will always be a musical legend!
Such a beautiful song with my favourite David Byron vocal... and Gary Thain's wonderful bass playing is just in there quietly in the background, but it just adds to its quality behind Ken Hensly's keys.
One os my favourites as well, plus most of Uriah Heep.
Uriah Heep should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!!!
Agreed ♫
Rock and Roll hall of fame is a joke!!! The fact that a band like Uriah Heep or Grand Funk Railroad is not listed proves its failure as any authority in music
They are in mine. They can be in yours.
Most definitely
fuck the r&r hall of fame

RIP David Byron, RIP...
