Hey! I’m Canadian but I live in Montreal (waay colder than Vancouver 😂) For the packing: the bike was a great call! You’re gonna love it. Biking here is amazing, even better in Vancouver since it’s less cold. I hope you have a wonderful time in Vancouver ☺️
Thanks very much ☺️ looking forward to some proper biking when the weather picks up here. Uncharacteristically cold over here at the moment! But must check out Montreal when travel gets a bit easier 🥳
Defo don't make the same mistake I did 😂 One bag was not enough! Also Vancouver is going through an unnaturally cold winter with snowfall in the city and sub zero temperatures so if nothing else bring a decent warm jacket (thats also waterproof) Learn from my stupidity!

Correction, there are some exceptions for short term rentals but the BC government is trying to prioritize long term rentals. There are some hostels also where I hear some new arrivals go.
Currently checking out the car insurance man, its defo not optional but hoping to cover a video on that stuff shortly. All I say is car insurance in Vancouver seems expensive! More so than even Ireland!
Yes ICBC has a monopoly on mandatory car insurance. It’s a BC government agency. You book it through private insurance companies and can buy optional extras. I’m with BCAA.
There is so much not to bring 😄 I'd advise looking at what part of Canada you want to move to and what time of year. You will pack very differently for a winter in Montreal than a summer in Vancouver! For me I wish I had brought more shorts and lighter wear as layers are key here! Hope that helps!
I retired on April 31 2022, and i'm planning to move to Canada from USA. (No, i'm not going to look for employment in Canada, but most probably i'll work as a self employed.)
Anyone else planning a move to Canada this year? Where are you headed??
Awesome! Toronto hopefully
Quebec
Saint John New Brunswick 😍🌸 Vitamin Sea 🚢🚤⛵🚣⚓😍❤
Vancouver 😁
Not this year, but, hopefully in 2023.. I REALLY want to move to Calgary, Alberta! :)

Thanks for the AirBnb tips
Course Ulrich! Lots of scams out there so make sure and be careful with everything!
AirBNB is banned for rentals less than a month due to housing demand. Just thought I’d share that.

does the IEC route allows someone to work in Canada ?
Don’t you need a certain amount of money to be approved to move? I heard for Ontario they want you to have $15k 😣😣😣
This is brilliant ✈️
Any tips on packing your bike?
Stephen brought his to the local bike shop who packaged it up for him for around €30
@@Moving2Canadainfo great thanks a mill for the info!
what’s the situation with car insurance there , do you reckon it’s expensive or is it optional ?
