I just met Aaron Brooks and "da beer man" Mike Lewis while I was in VA for Army training... It was very refreshing to meet real down to earth sports figures that I grew up watching and supporting... While Drew gave us "the who dat nation" our first Super Bowl, it was players like Aaron, Mike Lew, and Deuce that established the foundation and made me proud of being a Saint.
That was the only reason why I have some likability for the New Orleans Saints. And I'm a Cowboys/Browns fan. Not really because of Drew Brees, who I deeply like also, but mainly because of Aaron Brooks. 757 stand up!
I love Aaron Brooks didnt really get to see him play that much but im sure he was a Great QB me and him were both born in Newport News VA i feel good to see people from my area make it into the NFl.
Aaron Brooks had a big arm and incredible athletic ability had he played in a more modern system like a spread or zone read his physical talents could have been far better utilized
George Toney I rather him smile than throw a tantrum. He did stupid things, but I call that Saints shit. Every player no matter how good did Saints shit lol
Haslett let AB get beat to a pulp that Carolina game...he should have put Jake in. That said, Aaron was a heck of a QB and definitely deserves to be in the Saints HoF.
I was just a kid when he played, and wasn't really into sports until about 2006, when I was in the 8th Grade (also the year when the team was essentially reborn). My dad would tell me about how he and my grandparents would suffer with "The Aints" and the era of "bag heads". Our history prior to 2006 was seen as seemingly hopeless (aside from the Dome Patrol era of the late 80s to early 90s). With all that being said, we had some great players, but never truly a Championship-caliber team. Aaron Brooks held it down, contributing also to our first ever Playoff win at the end of 2000. I won't say Brooks is the best, but he wasn't bad. He held it down, and was a part of an era that helped put us back on the map before Brees. Him, Joe Horn, Michael Lewis, and Deuce McAllister were a few that I can name off the top of my head. There are definitely more I'm missing, but you get the idea.
He put up better numbers than Hebert, & even with the Dome Patrol behind him Hebert still couldn't deliver a playoff victory! That 2000 Saints defense doesn't get talked about much but was even better at getting to the QB than the Dome Patrol years & own the Saints single season sacks record while providing a nice catalyst to aid a young Brooks to lead the Saints to their only playoff win of the 20th century & pre Payton/Brees era!

kevanharriskh55 That Saints team brought us respectability. I truly appreciated the era of the Saints

I loved watching aaron play when I was young...he gave the fans hope
Underrated as hell.
yeup...he had an incredible arm!
Well deserved. ⚜️
Great dual threat QB with a great deep ball!
Aaron Brooks had high QB I.Q. But the Saints lack a few more pieces to make that team a solid contender but I saw greatness in Aaron Brooks.

Wow no mention of Kyle Turley? Kyle saved him from getting his neck broken on the field.
From 2000-05 only one QB had more comebacks than Aaron Brooks. That would be Tom Brady in that span. Not bad company to be in.
💯💯💯I liked brooks but when he used to throw picks he used to laugh and that used to piss me off!!!!
George Toney I rather him smile than throw a tantrum. He did stupid things, but I call that Saints shit. Every player no matter how good did Saints shit lol
George Toney ikr
Great QB! I miss those days. Tired of these stationary QB's. Bring back the mobile QB.

Rita wasn’t kidding
I thought this guy sucked
