I was working at Universal Studios in California when they began the initial filming for the New Leave It to Beaver. I was very young and had keys to ALMOST EVERYTHING interesting on the lot because I was in security. I was a young actor/ musician and was doing anything I could to be in the industry at the time and spent many days hanging out at the original Leave it to Beaver house and sometimes on the set to the New Leave it to Beaver.. Good times!!
Lumpy, Fred Rutherford and Eddie Haskell were actually the 3 funniest characters on the show. When they were in a scene you knew it was going to be funny.
The show should have included Wally's real life swimming in conversations on the set. He was a wonderful swimmer from his early teens up until later in life. That's why he was always in great shape with those muscles. Those blue eyes of his, were gorgeous and still are
I agree with you Michael Davis, Ward would make the show complete. I seen a documentary on Ward, such a sad thing to happen to such a good guy. I will NEVER understand why is it that bad things happen to such good people. That just makes me question everything sometimes.
I can't get over how skinny Eddie Haskell was! Two things: I wish this was from the original series, AND it's just not the same with a very key ingredient...Hugh Beaumont. He was the best t.v. dad EVER and I say this having been born in 1949 and watched all the family shows from day 1. BTW, Hugh directed many of the 'Leave It To Beaver' shows back in the 1960s.
Thank you! macelrick for uploading this..it's fun to see all the behind the scene action & hard work that can go into film a show. The interviews were great!
Lover of both the old and new Leave It To Beaver...this is really cool. Thank u 4 posting. Must say I was a tiny bit shockeded 2c Ken Osmond smoking, but after all he is Eddie Haskell. :D
1989 until now October 14, 2017; 28 years. A good long time. This was filmed about 26 years or so after the original series finished. It makes one consider the passage of time.
Wow, this is amazing. I had always assumed the cast knew that the show was ending when they made what ended up being the series finale, which WAS THE 100TH EPISODE, titled "Dads & Grads". This interview sure does change that thought...they were all blindsided! No one knew when they went to work that day that they were really celebrating not just the 100th...but the last show of the series. BTW, Barbara refers to 104 episodes, but she is counting the "re-cut" of the "Still the Beaver" movie.
Wow this brings back memories. I worked on that episode. I helped Tony get his new house fixed up, I remember. The show got canceled soon after this. So much for that.
I never knew they had a new leave it to beaver. I could ask a question like what station it was on, but that's what the internet is for. If it was a prime time network, I would never have seen it anyway. 89', I was not watching much tv if at all.
The problem with child actors is most are not actors! They don’t even remember what they were doing!! But then years later trying to repeat it just does not work!
My dad was one of the camera men on that show for 3 seasons he told me that! That little red hair boy famialy use to curse alot of set at him cause he was tired at timez filming all day . and eddie haskal use to drink alot between takes, i dont no how true it is ? But my dad never lied to me.....
How silly it all is. Such a waste of ...everything. Each and every one of those people get paid....and for what? To entertain an audience while sponsors try to unload their products? I hope in 500 years humans will look back and see what a wasted pretentious era the 20th and 21st centuries were
How charming to see this. It was uplifting. Thank you for posting this.

I like the old beaver...too me a very calming TV series....
Though it is not the same without Ward, I still love to see the old familiar faces. Great interview . Thanks.

Something satisfying about the Beaver saying: "Cut. Print."
That was Hugh’s sister at the table during thanksgiving.
Sad that Lumpy is no longer with us. :(
neither is Eddie
@@Lildarlin1 nor is Tony and Barbara. Now Jerry is the only man left in the main crew
Thats so true

I don't think I'd have recognized Lumpy, but when he started speaking I got it, his voice hasn't changed.

Was jerry mathers a nice guy? Out of all the cast wich one was like a mean guy at times out of all of them?
This is the New Leave It To Beaver the original was Leave It To Beaver and ran from 1957 to 1963!.
Choked up when Barbara , Frank and Ken were interviewed. ...
Funny hearing Wally say "goddamnit"
Florida? I thought they filmed it at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
It's amazing how attractive Barbara Billingsley still is even at the age she was That's what we call aging well😋
You are so lucky! Wish I could have!
My grandma looks so much like Barbara Billingsley!!!
Boy! I loved me some Leave it to Beaver, & Wally still looks sexy as ever!!! I didn’t realize they did a makeover bk in ‘89.
.....
Wally ( Tony Dow) was into major swimming as a teen on the original Leave it to beaver. Thats why he was in great shape... Those beautiful eyes!!!
Wonder why Ken Osmond is wearing a Twitty City shirt?
Did he visit there?

1983 - 1989, most definitely not watching the tube much.
Not every city carried it ☹️
THE NEW LEAVE IT TO BEAVER was carried nationally on cable station WTBS out of Atlanta. An earlier version, STILL THE BEAVER, was on Disney channel.

I guess this was indeed the final season, despite their optimistic predictions.
Barbara such a beautiful women!
I wish they did a Leave it to Beaver meet the Brady Bunch
Is heather o rourke there ?
The revival series folded shortly after with only 100 episodes, plus the CBS reunion movie revival pilot.
Barbara Billingsley always had pretty hair..
Jerry Mathers has the biggest head in show bidness.😆
saldy rerun are in limbo due to ownership issues

Eddie Haskel (Ken Osmond) commited sucide as a police Officer later in life. So sad..
I think you are wrong.
wanda wright No he didn’t!
He recently wrote a book.
@@beckigreen He passed away due to old age.
I saw ken osmond in that clip smoking cancer sticks........ewww !
A lot of ppl smoked in the 80's. No surprise.
"CLICK-BAIT!"

LisaDawnn no one asked you.
And I certainly didn't asked you to read my comment.
You think differently,it's not a waste when the show brought such joy,it brightened my poor childhood
LisaDawnn
It’s called pretentious. There are different tastes for everyone
WOW,
Such "mature" comments...
You should be ashamed of yourselves.......
