Hi mate, the job is very stressfull, I have to learn everything about all the company products, telecommunications, software, IT etc etc. Its going to be a huge and stressfull learning curve for a none technical simpleton like myself. Hi mate, since this video I have upgraded the firmware in the apex and switched to a better coil. Its a much better machine now. I've spent all this week using it on beaches in Cornwall, its been brilliant
Hi mate yes I went for the Raider coil (it looks like the standard coil on the AT Pro. I've got a video coming up in the next 2 weeks trialing the apex with upgraded firmware and coil. It was brilliant
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire I have been thinking the Raider sized coil would be a better fit for my Apex as well. The Viper coil does a good job especially on separation but the coverage and depth is lacking. Glad you have warmed up to the machine, it didnt have the best of starts and unfortunately first impressions tend to stick in the detecting world.
@@bottlecapdave2021 yes the Raider coil is such an improvement, also upgrading the firmware. I get a lot more joy using this machine now and it looks beautiful in photos and videos. Anytime anyone gets a new machine its always really tough and frustrating having to learn all over again

Hi Rick thanks mate thats awesome to hear from one of the OG youtube channels that got me inspired. The typing is just an effect in the title section of my editing software. The typewriter sound I downloaded off google and added in. I kinda borrowed that idea from Holzhammer Saga 😁

Modern coins beat modern canslaw any day of the week! Well they beat antique canslaw come to think of it but even so not such a bad day out really! It's me probably ,,every other signal was foil at 4/5inches and also medium iron gave a plus 15 .but am sure in the right hands they are very good .just love my xp adventis .
Great visuals buddy, thats strange hearing that about the apex, supposedly has the most stable v.d.i of any detector, well so ive heard. I have a few permissions that dont produce much, but i still pay them a visit just incase , but mostly because of the surroundings. See you on the next

Hi Stephen, thanks for getting in touch. If I was in your position I would go for a Nokta Makro Simplex. A modern machine, easy to use, lots of features, great performance. New they are £279 but 2nd hand probs pick one up for £200 if ya lucky

@@stephentoner2636 well your metal detector will eventually pay for itself. Pinpointers are great bits of kit, but quite expensive. I have the Garrett orange one bout £120 amd an XP on which is a bit more. I think there are cheaper ones. Any spade will do to start with

Hi mate, I was up here again with the Deus2 in my latest video. The apex works really well and most certainly finds. But I just cannot get on with the tones. It is currently the cheapest MF machine on the market though
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire oh, I didn't realise it was multi-frequency too.. I definitely think the Nox sounds the easiest on the ear. It's so good that the deus II has the option the change the sound.. and this bottle top reject sounds good too. One of my permissions is full of trash.. bottle tops being a big part of it.. I'd love a detector that could identify aluminium, ring pulls and can-slaw... that would be one hell of a time saver!!
@@danielt879 I see my friend Ash on the beach digging bottle caps galore with his Equinox, think he had like 50 and I only had a couple with the apex. But nox has depth !!

Hey mate, yes all good here, I've been down south on holiday, didn't take the laptop so didn't manage to edit a video. Hopefully just a week break from it all and not the end of my channel 🤣 I've found it such hard work in recent months trying to keep up with life and everythin goin on and getting out a vid every Saturday for the last 18 months

I've been struggling with the apex, however I have since upgraded the firmware and coil. It is now a much better machine to use. Don't like the signals and never will. Its a good machine but not a great machine

Hi mate, I was up here again with the Deus2 in my latest video. The apex works really well and most certainly finds. But I just cannot get on with the tones. It is currently the cheapest MF machine on the market though

I definitely think the Nox sounds the easiest on the ear.
It's so good that the deus II has the option the change the sound.. and this bottle top reject sounds good too. One of my permissions is full of trash.. bottle tops being a big part of it..
I'd love a detector that could identify aluminium, ring pulls and can-slaw... that would be one hell of a time saver!!
@@danielt879 I see my friend Ash on the beach digging bottle caps galore with his Equinox, think he had like 50 and I only had a couple with the apex. But nox has depth !!
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire yeah, bottle caps sound good and are a good size.. its good to know other detectors are able to not pick as many up.. hopefully the Nox gets an update with bottle cap rejection in the future 😀😀

Hey mate, yes all good here, I've been down south on holiday, didn't take the laptop so didn't manage to edit a video. I've been struggling with the apex, however I have since upgraded the firmware and coil. It is now a much better machine to use. Don't like the signals and never will. Its a good machine but not a great machine

The apex still has the same issues as the rest of the garret family, really can't identify what's going on below.
Haha I have to say the Garrett AT Pro is the best metal detector on the market. Unfortunately its extremely heavy

The coil is quite small yes but I have recently put a bigger coil on and upgraded the firmware, seems a much better machine now
