  • razor's permanently less wide, razor's permanently thicker at a given distance behind the bevel (unless you have access to new hollow grinding)
    a customer bought a $111 razor factory-new, honed it very badly, and returned it for a full refund. not very kosher bacon there;

they'll just do a chargeback on you if you don't, which you'll lose, so you pay the item and the banker fee and an extra fee. Never won a chargeback in 15yrs so at this point I'd not even try, in 2020 someone cooked off a $350 Bergischer Löwe and I initially won in PayPal kangaroo court but he went above PayPal and won his chargeback, was a very similar scenario to this. Many people only think of themselves, sadly.

Another razor ruined by terrible advice from these "professionals" in the shaving forums. Why am I not surprised. And I can't believe this customer actually returned this! It seems like people these days take no personal responsibility for anything they do.

Good vid, and some good points. My 1st few years I ruined so many a beautiful classic razor, wasn't until I got the concave lapping plate that I really started honing properly, takes hours and days, weeks even worth of actually doing it, most, even in this endeavor want things fast or faster and this is something you literally have to put skin in the game ..
Thanks for the plate and the many advices or emails along this journey, you have been by far my biggest help in this straight razor game.
My daughter loved the zahn eye brushes I got from tss,her birthday it was..
Of the 4 zartgefühl shave soaps I have, I must say the Prinz Charming scent is my favorite and when you nail the water ratio it also performs great and really pops. The new secret #2 feels a bit different to the one in the big white tub, which I am about to order another, I just fell in love with these soaps and at 1st I hated them, the Bart and the prinz.
I do like the feel on the new formula better though, and the balm is mind-blowing...
Thanks again and I really hope state farm comes through and my 2 cents is take the ticket to court, enough is enough..

those AB police didn't know I have an office walking distance and will be alll too happy to go over there any sunny day with a little sign. Can't for the life of me figure why there's a 1000'+ gap between that school zone light and the only crosswalk of relevance, all over Jacksonville if they're ever large zones they'd always have multiple points of crossing to make it relevant. It is an Atlantic Beach cash grab, plain and simple. I was driving 24mph in a 25mph, a real societal meanace there.
Glad your kid liked the natural brushes, I thought they were great too but that company's so OEM-only obsessed it really works against them in my opinion.
Happy sharpening/shaving 2u and I'm glad the wheel shape helped u out!

@@thesuperiorshave nothing has helped or brought me more joy/anguish then the wheel shape, the anguish comes in shaping a soft ark or a black ark.
The school zones are absolutely ridiculous throughout the state of Florida, a joke at best.. I feel mostly for the kids walking or having to ride bikes to school in the morning darkness with fools as traffic officials and minimal lights/signs or stops.

I walked back to this Seminole Rd Monday just to see if I was really dumb.
The crossing guard's at Seaspray Ave & Seminole Rd, the cop was a few feet away.
The flashing sign's >4 houses south of David St, ~900-1000' from that crossing. So far I thought I'd already passed through. Why the giant gap? It is just a cash grab. At the other crossings around the Beaches, the guards (they're all retirees) usually stay way past the time the light's flashing, and I didn't see any flashing light near the guard, so I just thought they were hanging out. No kids anywhere, we were at that point more than 30mins since dismissal.
They just annexed a way too big chunk of space to the south of the crossing so they can use that gap to catch people zooming at 24mph, as I was, in my speedy 12yrs old "Lexus-Prius."
Those cops are punks and I'll tell them so at the McDonald's in the mornings.

@@thesuperiorshave It is amazing truly amazing what we have come to think is normal. I think of the Boston tea party and the tax on sugar, those Americans that revolted are long gone but traces of that blood still exists.. Fight this thing till the end.

I got me an old dull solingen razor from a barber, paid about 40 bucks for it. I thought if I sharpened in a flat 1000 stone it would be usable. It does whittle hair, but doesn't tree top it. It's a shame there aren't people I know who have the tools or technique to really sharpen razors properly.

just buy the $20 shaped coticule I sell and thin that bevel, u will still need better than 1000 JIS for your apex, tho, that's too coarse. Still, I think the thinning's of equal importance to the apex refinement level, once we've reached a given base of 5000 JIS or so
