  • From 1972, here's guitarist Neil Levang on the Lawrence Welk Show playing "Wheels" with musical help from Myron Floren at the accordion along with Joe Livoti and Harry Hyams on fiddle. Clay Hart, who is the show's featured country singer, gives him a great introduction.

I'm saddened to hear of your Dad's passing!!! he was very much a part of my childhood. Every Saturday I looked forward to both you Father's guitar playing spots and Myron Floren's spots! I still watch the Show every Satruday when not gigging! With this vid we have the best of both!!

Every Saturday when I was very young we would take baths, and as each child took a bath and got into our pj's we could go sit on the couch with the rest of the family and watch Lawrence Welk, then Emergency (some of those years it may have been Adam 12 =) My mom especially loved The Lawrence Welk show - she is now 80 and we still talk about the performers sometimes. Your dad was one of my favorites - for both his talent and his smile. Almost 50 years later and that is still one of my favorite childhood memories. It brought my family closer then, and a memory I still enjoy now.

Neil Levange played flawlessly, his expertise allowed him to pic and strum any song with confidence. The accordion and fiddle playing add a special touch in this rendition, such wonderful musicians. The era is bygone, but their music lives on for all to enjoy.

patentpumps Never knew that Neil LeVang was Billy Vaughn's guitarist in Wheels. Heard him play the first time in Lawrence Welk Orchestra the song Scarlet O'Hara in 1963 - before the version by Jet Harris. Thought Neil was great, perhaps in the mould of Chet Atkins. May he rest in peace.

The translation of "carriage walking on the mountain road" should be closer to the original song. Later, the instrument played a strong tone, representing the difficulty of going uphill. After crossing the steep slope, it is easy to drive on the flat road。
