Though it’s not a pretty or elegant way to counter Lyon, I’m glad that a hard counter exists because end action effect is extreme toxic and taking away an action is one of the least fun things ever since you couldn’t even okay with your units previously
It all can be traced back to IS completely overloading Fallen Edelgard with effects for no reason. Ever since IS had to keep double downing to make the sorry but c*ancer they created bearable for normal units.
@@fridaynightralsei8495 There's plenty of ways to counter e ike it just requires very specific units and it also depends what support he has i.e emblem celica can easily kill him usually but with scowl support you'd need something that doesn't rely on in combat specials such as summer shez or even fallen ursula
@@fridaynightralsei8495 not quite. There’s a lot of effects that mess with Ike, and even some units that can reasonably deal with him it’s not that he’s literally invincible. But Ike is a unit that has a kit that’s nearly flawless imo, to the point where I think the only reason it’s reasonable to kill him at all is because he doesn’t have that much stats. (His weapon only swings his own atk and his foe’s atk, it’s not insignificant stat swing, but Ike doesn’t have a ton of Res or Def, which he scales really well with.) You have to have units dedicated to messing with him, or units that are just statistically cracked enough to deal with him while he just needs support that boosts his defensive profile. And BoL helps with his weakness to AoE’s It’s not like Lucia, who during her prime was amazing, but still basically inarguably got folded by units like L;Nanna. There is no unit that always kills Ike
Still kind of wished we got a Kaze alt after Kagero stole from him from the wind tribe banner, but Nephenee getting a good alt is a big win for me, even though Sakura gets back packed twice. Hopefully, she can get her own alt in the future.

The really put Lyon on the hero fest just to butcher him like a week later wth. My hot take is that Lyon was only that annoying in SD, and was really fine everywhere else, I just wish good units stayed good. Also really great for them to put the Lyon counter on a limited seasonal love that/s
They can't sell new toys if the old toys are still doin fine, that's how you profit from powercreep and how to slowly kill any remaining interest in the unit building aspect of the game has.
Aside from the D!Lyon counter, not sure how I feel about this banner. I'm happy as a Nephenee fan, but it just feels like another Tellius focus banner with some Fates, the same happening from last year's ninja banner with how Saizo and Reina turned out.
Was very hopeful about the new Lucia and by God am I disappointed. First off, Atk+3 instead of Spd+3 passive when both her stat boosts and true damage depend on her Spd (which doesn't even have a superboon). Second, there is absolutely zero damage reduction from the weapon, which is especially jarring considering how much of it they gave Mia on the same banner. Third, and most importantly, the Parity effect is basically unchanged, barring the terrain effect negation. Her biggest problem wasn't even DR piercing, it was pre-combat damage, and they should've negated that on both sides, too. All for just Distant Counter that has long lost its value thanks to Saves anyway. What a bummer 😞

@@starsz13 That's because D!Lyon had more of an impact in heroes that he became one of the only heroes people cared for thanks to the constant powercreeping which he is now forced to endure. He's still somewhat decent, just not as good thanks to HS!Lucia's C skill.
@@reishiki8682not really, Seidr's main roll nowadays is keeping one or two units alive on Galeforce teams, so unless the last standing unit has Canto Curb, it isn't really much of a problem.

To be fair, Lucia isn't broken whatsoever and can't handle Lyon 1v1 thanks to pre-combat damage he'll do. It's the skill that counters the end turn effect, and anyone can inherit that.

imo, Firm canto curb wouldn't be that bad of a check if one of two things were different: 1. BoL4 and curb didn't have the AOE support, it would then become a choice of which do you not want to face, the end turn or the burn damage 2. Curb only activated if more than 1 nearby ally (including unit) had the end turn status, basically saves Seidr from the collateral hit I just wish IS would stop dropping toxic effects and then delete them in such a harsh way.
I must say, I feel like nephenee will be good in the longer time since her weapon has a really good support for her allies. Special jumping, 10 damage and anti guard are always good. Lysitheas and Berni will have fun with their chip damage
Heiðrún is the best counter, and she can counter Breath of Life 4 users too except if the enemy's team has Heiðrún too because her C passive. If you have Heiðrún, you don't need Breath of life 4 anymore
Definitely amazing units, but as you've been hinting at lately, flat DR piercing may be just around the corner, as well as B!F!Robin who will likely be a better unit/scowl supp, which will definitely knock the value of these units down. Oh, THAT'S why V!Lyon was on Herofest! Ok, I know everyone's talking about him, but it's NY!Seidr who gets completely hard countered here. That unit has been an absolute degenerate in Arena modes, even by immense powercreep standards.
Now just wait for that skill to appear in HoF. Also I'm just going to say it, we need more buff female characters in Fire Emblem. Look forward to this new OC coming out in a month or two. 😊👍🏿

Usually I’m against hard counters sells for things but something negating instant turn ends was a must. Just a very unfun mechanic all around. I hope turn end mechanics remain rare though, I don’t want this new skill to be a must on every unit
Tempo seal! I've been wanting that for L! Ike months ago instead of Time Pulse 4 or breath sacred seal. Now he could run infantry null follow up 4 for more effects. It's a shame we got that now with Claude's remix, one of the few units he could still counter.
I'm convinced at this point that IS giving Leo a decent alt is like pulling teeth. The Valentine's one made me think that era of FEH was over, but now we're back to the same old crap. 😭 Seriously, you have MAMORU FREAKING MIYANO cast as Leo. Stop wasting him!
The best part about hard counters is that I don't even have to do anything, just by existing they already decrease the appearance rate of those problem units. It does kinda suck for Fomortiis though. He was cool and now he's less cool.

Personally, I don't think Duo Lyon's end action status was so oppressive as to warrant this counter. Maybe it's because I'm a mostly Omnitank AR-O player, but still...
From the duo video, seems to be that they have trouble with interacting with others but they bond because they have separate reasons for it. Sakura is a naturally shy and timid person, while Nephenee doesn’t like to talk cause she’s embarrassed of her dialect and doesn’t want to be made fun of. It’s pretty fitting for the two to be interacting, feels like an actual support convo.
I'm just going to go ahead and say it, I despise Leo's colorless tome, when I first saw he had a colorless tome I thought I'm going to give that to Laurent, and then I saw the graphic and heard the sound effects, and said no. I am not using sandwich accompaniments to attack my foes.

Heiðrún is the best counter, and she can counter Breath of Life 4 users too except if the enemy's team has Heiðrún too because her C passive. If you have Heiðrún, you don't need Breath of life 4 anymore
