It looks okay. I kinda miss how more overtly dark and gothic the Alex Proyas/Brandon Lee movie looked. This definitely evokes a more modern aesthetic and cinematography, but the '93 movie just looks/feels more stylish. That being said, I'll still check this out. They've been talking about doing a reboot for years, so I wanna see how it actually turns out, this many years removed from the other follow-ups.

It's a retelling, it's not a remake of the first film, people's mistake is thinking that it has to be the same as the first film, it's something completely different.
I love Brandon Lee’s Crow and I hate that people say “he won’t be Brandon Lee” as if he’s trying to be him. They’re very different actors playing the same character and due to Bill’s catalogue I’m extremely excited to see how he plays the character.

I'm an old guy. Old enough to have seen the Brandon Lee film during its original theatrical run. I love the first adaptation of James O'Barr's gothic character to this day. The cash grab sequels to The Crow, including that ridiculous television series, never took away from the beauty of the original film. I'm confident that this latest adaptation won't either, but I'm hopeful that it will at least compliment the first film.
It doesn't in any way compliment it. This could have been an actually decent sequel. But, the fact that this is supposed to be Eric and Shelly... nah, they lost me entirely there. They should have just made it an updated sequel and could avoided the backlash. I may still have not liked it because the aesthetics just don't fit this franchise at all, but I'd have at least watched it at some point.
Kevin, I think you have the best take on this! The original isn’t going to just disappear, if you love that one, it will always be there to watch. 😊 I can’t remember much from watching the original in the ‘90s, but I thought the trailer looked cool enough to go see it. Hopefully it ends up being bad ass, like the trailer kinda hints at. 😁👍

The first film told Jame's O'barr to eat sht and they changed and rejected the original comic book source material. Hypocrites pretending to defend the integrity of the very fake, original that disregarded the comics. 😒

If they liked the first movie for what it was then by that same principle they should at least give this a fair shot to be what it is.

Another trailer that shows the whole movie. Not that the plot of this movie is complicated, just a typical revenge movie. With that said, this trailer did not make me excited to see this movie. But to those it did, I hope you enjoy the movie

I always thought of the og movie as a love letter to Brandon Lee but as a adaptation it was missing a lot of the Crow story. This looks really inspired by the things missing from the og movie while putting the style in a modern setting design wise. This in my opinion is how I love remakes to be because it lets you watch BOTH as two different pieces of work rather than it just trying to be a 1 to 1 carbon copy. I feel like some people don't want to admit, had his design looked like Brandon Lee's (that was already different from the comic) that they would be more upset that it's trying to replace Brandon.
I had low expectations after seeing the image and now that I’ve seen the trailer in its full context I’m sold on it. I was at a medium level before reacting to it and now I’m excited!

We don't need a remake of Eric Draven's story. There have been many different characters who have become the crow over the years in the comics. This movie would have gotten less hate if it was telling one of their stories or had been completely original.
First I almost hated the idea of a Crow remake. But after seeing the trailer, man this modern iteration looks promising. But nothing can beat the original. Cannot wait to see this version as well. RIP Brandon.
There is not near enough for me to go see this. The original beats this by a long shot, from the soundtrack to the cinematography to the production design.
Great vid guys!!! I was 13 when the original Crow came out and never saw it, so I didn’t have a lot of anticipation for this movie. However, I had the EXACT same reaction ya’ll did to the trailer and am literally going to watch the original right now. Thank you as always!!!

I've been a fan of "The Crow" since the 1st film. Loved the Gothiness, loved the soundtrack, loved how dark it was. When we learned Brandon Lee died in that stupid mistake, it brought a heaviness that can't be copied. This reboot looks like it was made by someone who was a fan of the original, with a better budget. I'll give it a chance.

Honestly, I hope this is an unhinged Crow. Brandon's version was close, but even then he still had more of a sense of humor with the people he hunted.

I was shocked how much I liked this trailer.
I am so glad they DID NOT try to remake the original. This isn't even a remake, this is a retelling of the origin graphic comic, and it looks great!
No it isn't.I read the graphic novel, I've talked to the author multiple times. This is shit, they twisted the characters and story into something almost unrecognizable. One of their worst decisions they made is the "their past come back to haunt them" for Eric and Shelly. That is the complete opposite of how it worked in the comic. Their killings were totally random, mirroring how in real life O'Barr's fiancee was killed by a drunk driver. They completely missed one of the main points of the comics and why it was written in the first place.

I do not understand peoples hate on this trailer. Fine, I get it, you love the original. That's no reason to hate this trailer. It doesn't make the first movie bad. I grew up with the first one. And I am excited to see this one. If I hate it, I still have the original.

I think the hate mostly is from the look of the crow which I also do not like but I will def watch it and give it a chance skarsgard could make it good at least it looks bloody I like him shooting the dude through himself

@robertwright8306 It's not hard work to shit on the original creator's work either. And people displeased about this movie hold the original comic and Brandon Lee representation close to the heart. This movie is made more generic audiences. James O'barr walked away from this project and the director already claimed he was making his own movie. Fine. But don't be mad at people not liking that decision.

I think they should’ve pitched it as a follow up to the original The Crow 30 years later with Eric being Eric Jr. That would’ve made it more forgiving.
He doesn't put the makeup on until the final showdown?! Why do studios keep doing this crap? Power Rangers did it too. They didn't get their suits and powers until the end of the damn movie.
Looks like it takes a long time for him to come back to life as well. The original got to the point very quickly so the film was all about his vengeance. This one looks like it's going to spend the first 30 minutes focusing on the love story prior to their death. Then 20 minutes of him learning what he is and what he can do, 45 minutes of him just being a dude who can't die, then 15 minutes of him with the makeup and coat going after the final boss. So they've compacted everything we really want into the last 15 minutes.
If Coy is in, I'm in. 'Nuff said. 👊
my favorite movie, RIP Brandon. Never wanted a reboot, but if it the reboot is good, why not. The trailer seems quite interesting and bring another point of view. Should definitely see in theatre on saturday early morning to avoid noises and disturbances....
Big fan of the original, but I’m open to a new interpretation. Really don’t understand all the hate this trailer is getting. I admit it does feel like a strange amalgamation of half a dozen antihero characters, but I’m also a sucker for that stuff, and this still manages to look interesting and original enough to make me want to see more. I’m gonna watch the shit out of this.

I saw The Crow 12 times on the big screen, so yeah, I love it. They will never top it, and yet I do like the look of this-bar one big thing.
I am happy they went this path. The Crow look was a thing of its time, the sights and sounds worked then, and like many amazing films, they were a thing of their time, loved and carried fans for decades. Because of this, I think it is best they keep away from looking like Brandon; it's just not worth it. Seeing as there are a lot of comics with different stories, I am fine with many changes.
The one issue I do have is why on earth use the original names. I know the studio no doubt made that so, but come on, keeping the original names pisses off the 90s fans and, at the same time, the people seeing it today; those names mean nothing to them.

Beyond the bandwagon hate, I think you have struck on why the people who just legit did not care for the trailer are on about. They should have adapted one of the other Crow comics, because my main concern is simply this. The Joker Crow looks like he could go on a rampage of revenge, just like the original. But what made that original movie great was how sweet and kind Eric was portrayed around Ernie Hudson's Character, around Sarah. You genuinely care for how hurt and sorrowful he is. I can't imagine this version having the conversation about "nothing is trivial". I don't see that in this portrayal, or his look. He looks like one of the villains in a Crow movie.

Bill's Crow looks more like Alex Corvis (Crow Salvation) rather than Eric Draven lol. He's more of a mix of both I guess and I dig it because Salvation is my favorite Crow movie tied with the first.

I was really hoping they wouldn't re-use the Eric Draven character and let Brandon's movie stand on it's own. That being said, the trailer definitely changed my mind after the initial first pix came out online. It's a summer release, so I'll check this out.

They should have called this a sequel versus a reboot. Because it feels pretty damn good as a sequel. Probably stand up there with City Of Angels as a proper sequel. But it doesnt touch on the first movie properly to be called a reboot or remake. But with that said. I think this will gross big dollars versus Bad Boys 2.
Eric Draven and Alex Corvis (Crow Salvation) are easily my favorite Crow's. Bill's Eric Draven looks MORE like Alex Corvis than Eric Draven is my biggest problem lmao. Might as well of called him Alex rather than Eric because this looks nothing like Eric Draven. Alex was more of the Punk Crow and had the short hair look and badass facepaint (the ONLY Crow to not paint his face but after he was electrocuted, the marks was already on his face. #CREATIVE). While every other Crow painted his face. But even if Bill's Crow is basically a mix of Eric and Alex of the original movies I'm still seeing it. The trailer sold me.

This is actually the perfect trailer because when you know the universe and the sand box they are playing in because we have grace and Gabriel and Erine Hudson’s cop characters are alive and well at this point and grace could be the one giving bill the tattoos and we know the Ernie Hudson character did something that got them killed from this trailer and is still smoking his cigarettes and he is the one who gave bill and his girlfriend the names and Eric and Shelly Webster

Absolutely gonna see this. This is the way to go for doing a reboot not replicating the old one, Brandon Lee's version will always have its loyal fans but for a modern take this is the way to go, mixing Deadpool, Sandman, and Punisher on dark gritty vibes I'm all in!

I'm also going to add. Brandon Lee son of Bruce Lee. Brandon did very good playing the original Crow. Why on earth they are doing a reboot to his movie. I know some movies needs a reboot but movie doesn't need a reboot. Should of left it alone. If Brandon was alive today. What would he say about this.
I thought the camera work and action looked fantastic. I love the original Crow and think Brandon Lee definitely made it special, but Bill Skarsgard is phenomenal too. Could be cool.

This definitely feels like a supernatural version of John Wick. That would possibly make for a somewhat decent film if it weren't tied to The Crow franchise. But this definitely doesn't feel anything like a Crow film. This is often what happens when a series spends years in developmental hell. It goes through various rewrites, directors, actors and in many cases, studios. The end result is often a mess of a film that's rushed just so they can say they finally completed it.
That’s a good point. It feels like the only reason they hired a mediocre director like Rupert Sanders was because they didn’t want to wait any longer to make the movie and just wanted to make it now.
I love the original and I'm curiously optimistic about this one. It's an updated and different take on the movie which is great because like you guys said, who wants to watch a shot-for-shot remake of the old movie? I also like that we're going to get some depth to the lore here. It looks like when he starts his journey he's bleeding red but by the end he's bleeding black sludge. So does this mean that there is a certain price to be paid for the powers of the Crow? That wasn't in the original and it could be an interesting direction to take the story in.
Your friend hasn’t seen the original, you guys have to a reaction to the original and let’s see how your friend like’s it’let’s see his opinion! If you’re going to see the new one he has to see and know what the original was first! The Crow is a cult classic and Brandon played that part so beautifully and the cast was all fantastic and the city and world it happened in felt like a character in the movie! I’ll go see this and I really hope it’s good but the original will always have my heart, it was great in every way! I knew nothing about the comics but I love that movie 🎥
Skull Cowboy the spirit that serves as somewhat of a guide for the crow , pushed him in the water.
Finally adding him. he was cut from the original even though the scenes were shot and he explained to Eric that if he helps the living he will get hurt. they changed that to the crow so im happy they have added that back
I like that they show the other side this time arround and the addition of this guide. Kinda impossible to adapt the talking spirit crow from the comic without making it cringe. This guy makes sense

Sorry for the long comment, but yes Coy i was having a stroke with the comment last Friday. This trailer is boss in my opinion. I was in high school in my morning drive when news hit on the radio that Brandon Lee died while filming the original.
