I prefer the book version of Blood and Cheese too, but I liked what they did because it kind of feeds a larger theme of ASOIAF. People always want to believe that the ones who do evil things are basically demons, like how northerners must be wolves in human skin and the Imp is the devil on Joffrey's shoulder, and while Blood & Cheese are irredeemably evil the reality we're shown is that they're less gleefully cruel and more just some guys doing a job. Kind of similar to the Banality of Evil.

it's understandable why Alicent is doing Criston, look at how her life has been since she was a teen, forced to marry a much older man, forced to make heirs while doing her duty, making sacrifices... but now becuase she's slowly losing her power over Aegon, she's latching on to Cole for control but at the same time fulfilling her needs and certain desires that she never fulfilled unlike Rhaenrya but again it makes her feel shameful, and sinful... yes she is being hypocritical but she's definitely not without her own complexities. I actually prefer Show Alicent to book Alicent just because of the route they are going with the character and the fact that Olivia Cooke's performance is so good to watch.
Yeah the only part of Show Alicent I dislike is how she flipped so quickly in Episode 8 from hating Rhaenyra to reconciling and accepting her as the future Queen. After Driftmark, it's extremely hard to believe Alicent would even consider NOT installing Aegon as the King. Otherwise, she's been great.

We'll have to assume his negotiations with Jeyne Arryn lasted no more than a day or so, and that he flew Vermax to the Wall instead of riding a horse from Winterfell to Castle Black. Maybe Jace flew to Winterfell, they told him Cregan wasn't there but he's actually at Castle Black, so Jace then flew to the Wall. I think this guy’s channel is great. In-depth lore, and he’s funny. As for the episode, unfortunately it was a bit meh but it’s early days. As a Brit, the dude playing Cregan Stark’s Northern accent is quite bad, and he and Jace had zero chemistry. I enjoyed the rest apart from Blood and Cheese, I felt bad for Helaena. Emma Darcy has won me over after not being massively impressed at first. She was emoting her socks off in the grief scene. Olivia Cooke is ok but being a bit of a pedant when it comes to accents her RP accent isn’t the best. Her accent is about as northern as you can get in real life. If you compare her accent in the show to say the Queen that Never Was, Rhaenys wins all day long. She does get the best lines 😛
In all honestly, I was enjoying the episode ( Apart from questioning the Wall trip logistics) until the entire blood and cheese sequence. It has only 2 "good" parts, the dragoncock banter and the fact that Aemond was the initial target ( Killing him is justified, and will take our Vhaegar in the process. Plus the show seems to like "Oh no, it was an accident, they didn't mean to" changes from the source material) Everything else is worse. The way Mysaria comes back to the story, the way blood and cheese look and behave, the fact that daemon does not go in himself, the fact that no guards are there, the fact that there is no sophie's choice, the way Healena acts. I was really looking forward to this episode, since I really liked the way they handled Luke's death. But it was pure ass. Really disappointed, I do not understand how they made it suck so much.

Everything else is worse. The way Mysaria comes back to the story, the way blood and cheese look and behave, the fact that daemon does not go in himself, the fact that no guards are there, the fact that there is no sophie's choice, the way Healena acts.
I was really looking forward to this episode, since I really liked the way they handled Luke's death. But it was pure ass. Really disappointed, I do not understand how they made it suck so much.
