You need a hay trailer. Best thing we've ever had for hay.

Enjoyed the vid! How many acres does it take to support a cow/calf pair down there? Will you overseed the feeding area when you quit feeding hay? I sell a fair amount of hay as well and use my cattle to dispose of the non-sellable hay. I'd rather feed cattle then sell hay most days lol

A little bit of grain, everyday, puts a nice finish on your cows and helps keep them manageable too.

You must really like getting in and out of that cab a lot. I'd put a trash barrel at the gate and yse the rear spear to carry another bale. Spear two, stop at gate, get out and unwrap both, open gate,, drive in, close gate, feed one, drio rear , spear it, feed it, open gatem drive out, close gate, repeat.

Have you thought about using a bale unroller to fee? We started a few years ago and it seems to allow all the herd a chance to eat evenly along with not having all the loss at the bottom. Just seems to be more efficient to me.

I Use gobob.com monster hay feeder, it conserves hay by using chains to hold it off the ground, also I built metal feeders out of old underground pipes cut in half, Gobob also sells the same feeders, for bucket feeding, I have one off the feeders inside the row fence, makes feeding a lot safer. Nice Video

I had to put a roof over my feeders. It just got too muddy. Not a barn, just a cover. Bales of hay last longer. I grow and bale orchard grass and hate to see any go to waste.

What kind of feed are you feeding them?

I just wondered why you didn't take two bales at a time to the field and cut down tractor wheelings on the land.
Have you ever considered using a calf creep feeder in the field as some calves look as though they would benefit from some grai feed to get through the winter. It would also help lactating cows out by reducing the demands on them as I guess it is these cows that are probably the leanest.

I think it would be easier for you to cut your netting with a box blade so you won't have so much on wrapping

I burned 2.5 gallons of def in 100 hours. These things just sip it, not uncommon to forget you even have it.

You need to find a better way of feeding the dry feed sooner or later you will get hurt believe me I know. The way cattle prices are and they say next year not going to be any better, I am debating on selling off lot of mine.
