This siren has been removed from service and sent to Shawnee County.
I met up with Gabe, Also Known as Sirenfan97 to Film this Thunderbolt 1000 at Lawrence Dumont Stadium during a Practice game. This Siren has a New Chopper cap, Not a whole new head, And a New Chopper. This unit is a 3 Phase unit, And Runs on 240 or 277. It Sounded like the Releif valve on the Blower was open, Because when I was close to the siren at 1:49, I could feel the Blower's tone in my Chest. Yes, It was Very High Pitched. This Siren used to be a 1000T, but is now a 1000.
Yes, i did say "Hell" in this video. My Condolences if you have religious views. I apologize.
Go Check Gabe's Channel out!

if chopper level 9 existed:
It sounds like a victory bell air raid siren
AAA that's loud I prefer the federal signal 2001 even though I live in England
when he said it might be dissconnected....the siren fired right up...i guess the siren was mad and yelled at him for saying that! LOL
Sounds like angry bearings with an amplifier.
I think some one changed the chopper motor because in the wind-down you can hear it's original pitch
Sounds like the longest censor beep like ever
@MKIIProductions dang, hate to see what woulda happened if the relief valve didnt open :/
Sounds like the one at Mt. Airy Tower in Cincinnati!
@daewooparts It is in Quite an odd position. This is the oddest placed, Most Famous, And Highest pitched siren in Wichita.
Three Records this siren now has.
what i was meant to say was that This siren pitch is so high that my right ear is hurting whenever i watch this
@MKIIProductions Wow! I'm surprised that the motor hasn't burned up...
ATI infected thunderbolt
Ouch my Head is throbbing now...
lol the Thunderbolt swallowed an ATI, and the ATI is screaming for help
Oops Now the Thunderbolt became an ATI
that makes make crack up just thinking about it.
If you listen closely you can hear the blower shut down instantly
They had to replace the chopper with something that has more ports
I'm guessing this was part of Naperville's hardware which Braniff kept as replacement parts. Naperville painted all their sirens sh*t brown when they were refurbished in the early 90s.
its so high it almost sounds like its on a UV controller
this thing sounds like it's replacement
You can hear the blower too!
@djscrizzle That means the rotor is spinning 16.75 times in one second... Gawd..
It's got to be around the ballpark of 12000 R/min
That is the highest piched Tbolt I've ever herd
And I thought a sentry 5V was loud and high pitched!
MAN thats overpowered
What the Hell is right!? I 've never even heard 2001 that high. It sounds like the chopper is being overpowered. This must have blown the shit out of your eardrums. Especially when that screech was unexpected.
It is overpowered. It is a 120v motor with 240v supply.
He's screaming because he heard bieber singing "Baby"!
Anybody would do that!
To warn of an impending nuclear attack, or a natural threat to life and or property.
@lilaj34siren You can tell that the valve is opened when you can hear it over the siren pretty well. this could also be an air hose clog or something else.
is that thing powerd like a boss?
Wow I can't Evan hear CNBC squawk box on the street.
@timeslip325 Yeah, I loved the way it sounded in that video!
"It's got to be around the ballpark of 12000 R/min"
CAN YOU READ?!
Maximise the volume and wear large headphones and and and and..........
Do it its ear rape
+XxDeathLordxX The Feared or tinnitus
It look like a ati siren in tornado siren madness
ohhhhhhhh my god it reminds me of a modulator holy cow!
If federal signal remakes thunderbolts and they sound like this then the thunderbolt is ruined
This tops the Mt. Airy thunderbolt.
The one on the park place is in Cincinnati, and the one in mt airy is in Maine
@@BRISTOLFORCE2009 Thanks for replying to my 11 year old comment.
nice!!
its screaming in rage to get out of that cage !!!!
@carexpertandy
Yeah. It's real odd when something you really know takes a real curve at you... lol
I think the relief valve isn't stuck, what your hearing is the blower through the horn, cause it's spinning so ungodly fast, that the tone of the blower is leaking through the chopper while it's open, if the valve was stuck open, it wouldn't be as loud as you heard it far out.
@amtrak3501 Yes, I do. It did waver quite a bit due to unseated brushes.
Higher than an ATI! ATI's sound at 1000 Hz. Except San Fran's.
jesus thats well high pitched sounds like idk llike a steam train with a jammed wistle
@dualactionsurgilator
It Sure did. This Unit is Running on 3 Phase 240.
@Droideka133 Yep, Well, It has a New Chopper cap and a Chopper, I know that much. The Head was not fully replaced.
the reason why is because it is an ati siren in a thunderbolt.
stampycatfan01 but it wouldn't be as loud
@MKIIProductions :-( the attack signal sounds like a fire truck ugh
That sounds just like an ATI LOL and people still love it!
I think that he means dog.
@CaptainElevator42189 Didnt come close to crunching numbers. This siren is on 208/220/440, So you're in the ballpark!
I never thought that would be possible, but now it is among us... Thunderbolt siren touched by Chuck norris!
Wtf thats a tbolt
Single Tone! What The Hell!?
@garyhstorms10 No Idea! It must have been corroded.
@kurtdog119 Yes, I Understand. I placed this in the description. 'Yes, i did say "Hell" in this video. My Condolences if you have religious views. I apologize.'
You are right, This thing caught us by surprise! 'must have slipped out when you weren't aware.'
only have 2001's ware i live -_-
Ah. Need to watch an STL-10 for some Low tone! lol
@hi91023 Yep. That's how it works!
i think that model shermen type
sherman isn't the type. SHERMAN IS THE FRICKING LOCATIOn THE SIREN IS FROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
didnt you have a video when this was a 1000T? and if you do, wasnt it the one that wavered quite a bit?
Now that will get someone's attention!
Them near the siren: MY EARS
It has a 120v armature in a 240v field, so the chopper is spinning twice as fast as it should be.
LMFAO
I Bet They Disconnected WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
@BananasAreMonkeys yep
WTF that thing has the pitch of an ATI, and the blower is just as loud as the siren itself O_o.
@HUSoldierVEVO nice one
And if that would have been a 1000T, it would probably sound a lot like am electronic siren with UltraVoice controls.
ATI HPSS32.
this is what happens when Chuck Norris kicks a tbolt lightly, tbolt screams in terror
@zozey1231 IT'S A DOUBLE RAINBOW!
@MKIIProductions - All the Way, Bro.
sounds almost like a federal Q siren
Holy crap this registered on Audacity at about 1000 Hz. An average 2001-SRNB or 130 usually measures in around 770-780.
Oh my lord! That thing is incredibly high pitched! Great video!!!
that sounds like a 2001
How did it all of the sudden become single tone
Scooby Doo..rog rog..
@sizzlin321 Why yes, by a landslide. This now sounds at the same pitch as an ATI. Jumping off a cliff now...
Sounds like a f***in' Whelen.
I've said more words than there are Thunderbolt sirens... What are you talking about?
@TboltHurricane What Does this mean? It So bright, And So Vivid...
@lilaj34siren You're partially right. The Chopper motor has a 120 volt Single phase armature, instead of a 208/240 Armature, so the siren sings a deafening >1000hz tone Instead of the normal 350-500 Hz tone you would commonly see out of a Thunderbolt siren. The Blower is working fine, But the chopper was spinning so fast, it had problems getting air through it. In result, the relief valve opened to keep pressure off of the unit. Usually on other sirens operating normally the valve is not opened.
That is very unlikely. The windup, and winddown are slow, and the chopper is set on tap 7. No idea why in the hell they would do that...
THAT THUNDERBOLT IS HORRIBLY LOUD
Lord have mercy, it's a huge mosquito! D:
Dubois has one check it out btw it's last one my state has in the tri county area so I call him sole survivor bolt my un invited friend mikeyswimmer and I might film it some day.
holy hell it is an fs2001 inside a thunderbolt 1000's body
No. It is a 120v Thunderbolt on 240v
It had the ATI virus.
@MKIIProductions haha. I get it... Ballpark.
As in where this siren is located
loud as a Thunderbolt 1003:)
@MKIIProductions
Most likely a relief valve on the blower was stuck open, causing the high pitched sound from the siren. It's very unusual to hear a Thunderbolt sound like this does.
i thinking TINNITUS
my head is litterly pounding
This must be revenge of the ATI's... o_O
GOD HELP US!!!
Who kicked this in the RCM1A level7.
I believe you are correct. It does sound like the relief valve was stuck open. The replacement chopper sounds like a Mini-Me STH-10 chopper.
To be honest with you, I've been in the boxes of a 1952 1000A. The terminal block was labeled to 7, and the block ended at 7.
You apparently have NO idea that Terminal 1 only allows 120v into the armature, and Terminal 7 allows Direct 208/240.
And there is no way this thing is getting 408/480. NONE of our sirens here run on 408/480. The blower is a C series, and takes 208/240 Three phase, and the Armature is probably rated for 120v, and not 240v.
Any enthusiast should know that.
Light pole is bigger
Sounds like a Q2B siren towards the end.
