The freight at Barry Island with a 73 isn't something I ever thought I'd see. Was the wagons stored at what is/was (that all closed now? I'm well out of touch there) the lines of the Barry tourist railway behind the station?
Wagons are being stored at Barry, as there is a surplus at the moment with no coal going into Aberthaw etc, The line behind is the Vale of Glamorgan line, Cardiff to Llantwit Major and Bridgend
All good stuff, well captured, Mike -Ian 👍👍
Great video thank you 👍
A great compilation Mike, and wonderful that you captured that movement from Barry Island...Regards...Bob
John, who runs the railway did give me the planned times and the driver is a good friend too; which helps!
Really superb Mike. All great captures and locations. Cheers
I recall seeing these 73's at Ashford, Kent hauling test trains of Eurostars class 373 back in 1993, hence all that adaptor gear for coupling up.
I think it would cost too much to remove. It makes the loco quite unique.............thanks for watching
fab vid.. wondered when those trucks would be moved..
I beleive it's only for the weekend transport festival as access is needed to the Island station
