I lost my passion (non-traditional watercolor) when my husband died last year. My daughter introduced me to UA-cam where I discovered Junk Journaling. I was in a quandary as to why they called it 'Junk' Journals when most of the stuff was bought. I also wondered 'WHY' make these. Then I found you. You are closest to my tendency to repurpose/reuse things. I also thrift shop rather than pay full price... more recycling. Thank you for giving me something that fills my creative needs. You are a gem.
I'm sorry for your loss! I started junk journaling the same way as you except I lost my son several years ago. Our two daughters introduced me to UA-cam and that's how I found junk journals! They keep my mind occupied to help ease the grief some! Praying for you 😊
P
Thank you. It is hard to lose a loved one, especially when it is a child. We are fortunate to have family and our creative nature to ease the pain.

I just found ALL our 2 daughter's baby pictures, school work, report cards, etc. This will be a perfect and quick way to surprise
them for the holiday...Hopefully this year!
I plan to use this idea to make a quotes book for a friend. Thank you, Natasha! You are very inspirational.
“We don’t make mistakes, just happy accidents.” ~ Bob Ross
I’ve always loved this quote. You are such an inspiration to me. Thank you xxx
I love it! Thank you so much Lora :)
I have been making envelopes for about 30 years. I have many penpals. I use calendars, maps, heavier pages magazines. So now I am going to try this project.
Thank you for a organized video! I know creativity is usually open and spontaneous, but it is aggravating watching some tutorials where there is no forethought and you have to move forward till something is accomplished and not repeated over and over!
Thank you so much Jodie :)
Love this idea. You are beyond a doubt, the most informative person I watch on u-tube. You give all the details and don't hold anything back. I love watching your channel. TFS
Thank you so much Anna! Means a lot :)
As a beginner on a budget I cannot wait to give this a try. I love your tutorials and how you make use of everything
Awesome! Thank you!
I sign here as well! One year later, and I'm thrilled with your tutorials!!!! TY❣️🌼🐝
Love this. I will definitely be having a try.
Such a fun easy little project I’m using colored envelopes from hobby kibby
Really like how your bits n pieces were prepared - made the journal take shape faster - still had plenty of explanation. Your lighting was find - Mother Nature is on your side. Thank you great job in teaching us different methods I assembling a journal 🌵🦋💖
Thank you so much!
I want to thank you for your wonderful videos. During this time of great stress in our world, I find your videos a peaceful escape from the worries of the world. Thank you for your inspiration and tranquility during this time 🥰
Wow, thank you so much :)
I love this little envelope journal! I watched this video when it came out back in 2020. I am making a trip to my daughter-in-law's home country of Cambodia. I will go with my grandson, who has his other grandmother over there also. I have started making 10 of these to give as gifts to sisters and aunties. I can work on them on the flight over with pre-punched holes for the binding. I will cut binding threads and ephemera at home so no scissors on the plane. It will give me something to do on the long flight. I am not looking forward to that, but I am excited to be sharing a small sample of our world of Junk Journals with them. Thank you so much for your tutorials and continued inspiration. Hugs from Texas.
love the simplicity of the envelope journal, i have 4 people waiting for me to show them how. wish me luck.u r the best
I’m just like you don’t waste anything ever.
I’m so happy to see you again
Thank you for sharing
Hope your safe
God bless love this
Your adorable
Thanks so much!!!
I'm encouraged to try this. So many tutorials drag on forever and make it look so flippin' hard. But yours looks simpler, and I'm needing simple. Thanks!!
Thank you :)
I just finished my first journal ever using this video. You made it so simple. I wanted to send you a picture but I don't see a way. It was very fun! It will be a gift for a 16 year old girl who is celebrating her birthday this weekend. Thank you again for your easy directions and sharing your techniques which kept me from having to learn by experience and from being frustrated! ❣
Thank you so very much Rosanne! What a wonderful gift - a handmade one! Love it :)
She was absolutely crazy about it! Her mom says she journals all the time and now wants to learn to make them, too! So I sent her a link to your video of how to make it. You may end up with a new subscriber! ❣
I love paper, post cards, greeting cards, images, stamps, and art and have boxes and boxes of them but have never made anything with them, until now. I made your envelope junk journal and am quite satisfied with the result. I have not completely filled it yet, but I wanted to thank you for your careful instructions and interesting ideas.
I have no idea where you get all your ideas ! So creative , care for every page you create , thank you for your creativity and sense of humour. Always something new and exciting !
Thank you so much :)
Your creativity is amazing. How fortunate we are that you share with us.
I actually like that you showed a) how a mistake happened and b) how you fixed it. It made for a much more realistic and useful tutorial, thanks
Thank you so much 😊
I like the way you think - create. Making multiple things ahead certainly saves times when you sit down to create. I like this journal style. I think it's going to be one of my favourites! Keep doing what you're doing. You are a great inspiration.
I know I keep saying this, but everything you do just comes out to be so elegant. All the little things do add up. 😊
Thank you so much!! xoxo
Always look forward to your videos! Love this process. Thank you.
Cathy Carruthers I agree- I could watch her all day!
Thank you so much!
This is such an amazing little project, I will most certainly make some as gifts
I definitely want to give this a go. I enjoy your channel so very much! Thank you for all you do and share. Blessings ❤
in addition to your projects being so fabulous, i LOVE how respectful you are about maximizing your resources. i know your back story and how much you value paper and all the lovely art supplies many of us take for granted.
you are an inspirational artist AND you are an eco-friendly ROLE MODEL. ty natasha💐
This has cheered me up! Your videos are always so inspiring and show how much you can do with a few simple things, no need to get overwhelmed, and the end result is just pure handmade luxury! Would love to see a video of your craft room. Much love to you
Thank you so much Lennie!! I have included a bit of my craft room at the end of this video - ua-cam.com/video/ufzFcCUZIyc/v-deo.html

I just LOVE how easy and organized you make your videos!!! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! It takes a bit of work, but so worth it :)
Oh goodness I know you put this video out a year or so but I just love watching them, you're such an inspiration! Now im going to try and make one....
I just love your videos! So clear and always inspiring!
But I really love your voice! There such an easy listening quality to it!
Today I went back to this episode and made this journal. Now I am in the process of embellishing. The only thing I could t find was my single hole punch! This is a fun project. My sister is waiting for me to send her one. She is gathering things for me to use. 😂
I found your page a few weeks ago and i am HOOKED! I am getting cards for this project this weekend!
This was burning in my brain till I finally made it....OMGOODNESS it’s the cutest thing I e ever made!! I love it. Thank you so much for sharing!!
You are so welcome! I'm glad you dove in and made it :) Thank you
I really like it that you take a project from start to finish and show us every step along the way. You give us tips on using junk paper and using punches to create embellishments, and tips to make the project more effective (wait till the end before cutting the strings). I am new to your channel but I watched the one where you talked about yourself, and I could relate to a lot of your life. I'm happy I found your channel. I heard about you from Noit on NOIT ART.
I like the ease of these journals. I think this would be a good project with my 8 year old.💚
Crafting with your child! Heaven :) Enjoy
Nice way to recycle the large security envelopes we get in the mail.
Love most all of your projects. Not because anything isn’t wonderful, but because I don’t necessarily have everything you have. I don’t like the mess of tea dying, so I use Tim Holtz distress and distress oxide inks to make them look aged.
I’m a one of a kind girl, but you give so many great ideas, I could make these and everyone would be different depending upon the embellishments!
I love the idea of making the “skeletons” and then adding the flesh to make them unique.
Lots of inspiration here. Thank you from TEXAS 🇺🇸.
I think it’s important to let us see when things don’t go as planned. It helps us newbies when we undoubtedly have the same problem. This is a great and economical idea. I LOVE the closure idea. TFS
Thank you so much Alice :)
Yes! I will definitely make a few of these journals. TYFS!❤️🙏🏽🤗
Have fun!
what a lovely idea i loved it you explained this tutorial in a wonderful casual way so friendly thank you for sharing this idea
Wow, it amazes me how you take something so simple and create a beautiful little journal! So creative as always... TFS.
Stay safe, much love x
Thank you so much!
This would be a lovely journal to keep special letters in ❤
Omg! Perfect and perfect timing. Sent to a friend and doing these together. So stinkin' cuuuute...as we say in Oklahoma. LOL
I think your “oops “ looks nice, and even adds more sturdiness 🥰
I agree and it's also nice to see the solution process for an "oops"...because we ALL have them from time to time. Great job!
Great video but a lot of ads... breaks up flow of video
Thank you so much!!
This was fantastic! Ty💕 Leaving for our 3 week vacation to our cabin on the water , no wifi unplugging. - I’ll definitely be making one of these gems while I’m there xo
Sounds like heaven!!! Enjoy :)
Love it and can't wait to make my own. Glad you kept the little mishap in and the end results are beautiful.
This gave me some ideas for storing my vintage postcards. I like to organize them by era. Thanks for the great video!!
Loved the tutorial! Could you please make a video showing your ways of dying pages? (Onion peel?! 🤔). Thanks you
I think I will take you up on that suggestion :) Thank you

That's a great idea! Have fun :)
Your accident one really turned Out the best 💕 SO lovely
Seems very simply, I think I’ll give it a try. Thanks for sharing 🌞
Hope you enjoy
Natasha...in addition to your wonderful teaching, l must compliment you on your beautiful hands and rings! Since we do not see your face, your hands have to be a lovely reflection!
Thank you so much Miriam!
I really love your style of Journals, they are by far my absolute favorite! I have watched all your videos & most of them at least 2 times (or more).
Thank you so much!
That extra piece with new eyelet turned out pretty. Like a little harder and like it looked like it was supposed to. Very pretty.
For those who are wondering what in the world the hole punch tool thing is, it is an Awl Tool. It is used for leather. An inexpensive one on Amazon is about $6
You are so wonderful to share all of your creativity with us. You are so organized and easy to follow. Many thanks!
Thank you so much Sherry!
Nga mihi nui - a big thank you, Natasha.
I love your very clear instructions and creativeness. You are an inspiration.
Thank you so very much ❤️
I love this, it's my project for this rainy Sunday afternoon in New Zealand. xxxxxxxx
Lovely! Going to make one today. Another option for closure could be to sew your signature in starting on the out side. Leave enough cord to wrap around your journal as you like, after you tie the knot you can go about decorating your cord and “ta dah!”. :)
Great idea! Love it!!
I loved this project today and plan to make them. I just don't care to make the larger, thicker ones at this time. This is manageable and quite useful for many things, gifts as well.
You don’t have to apologize for your lighting. It is a pleasure that you are such an efficient person and so frugal. You are so creative and I love your sharing nature! Thank you so much for the inspiration! I can’t wait to make one.
Thank you so much!
I love this for its simplicity. Thank you. I will be making some.
Thank you so much Erin 😊
Your videos are the best. Your explanations on how to do something is clear. Thank you very much.
Thank you!!
I love this am thinking of making as an alternative birthday card for a friend who loves her woodland plot. I’ve collected images from outdoor and garden magazines, stamps and my own small watercolour paintings to maybe inspire her to compile a journal. Love your tutorials - thank you Natasha ❤️
That sounds amazing Julie! Thanks for watching :)
You are one of my favourite junk journal craft makers, you make it look so easy and am always looking in charity shop like you do thank you so much.linda from england🙂💌
Thank you Linda!
Love this journal idea! I've been looking for something like this to make some simple journals. I'm also so glad you share when things don't go quite as planned. It's a reminder that with junk journals the "mistakes" are fixable and add extra personality.
Thank you so much Laura!
Best idea I have seen so far!! Thanks for sharing!!❤️
Wow! I’ve been watching this type of video since last night and was ending up confused. Everyone does it differently but yours is the easiest and best I’ve seen and I will definitely be trying it. I love how you embossed the envelopes and tea dyed them. Plus I love how you put the papers in the middle. I work in journals but have never made one so this is perfect for what I want. I’ll be subscribing to your channel. Thank you.
These journals are amazing! BEAUTIFUL! I have tons of envelopes, so will be having lots of fun trying this out. TFS. I did. God bless Stay safe.
Thank you so much Evelyn. You stay safe too!!
👍👍Junk envelope journals are one of the easiest, cheapest, & most fun things I have learned to make during the past year. I enjoy seeing how different artist/crafters make them & usually find new ideas with each one. There is no end of styles, & I have a steady supply of junk mail to provide the envelopes! Thank you for sharing yours, Natasa! Hugs🤗
Yaaay!! Thank you so much Leslie!!
I loved this little Journal. I will be trying this soon. Thanks for sharing! 💕 ❤ 💕

I love the idea of using the signature in the middle. Another great idea!!
Thank you really much for this video. To day I feel a Little bit depressed, It enbrighted my day a Little. Now, I don't knowif Is the case but I want to suggest this Idea the same... How about filming a video about TIPS and trick to be more organized in working on a junk journal? I am kinda a messy Person, It would be interesting to try to be as organized as you are during the crafting. Have a nice day Natasa and stay safe
Hmm I'll have to give that a bit of a think. Thank you for the idea!
Red bear - I would also enjoy that video! Pleeeeeeeez consider!
You are THE best teacher Natasha! Love everything you do. I’ve been wondering how to do this easily and I’ve been scratching my head as they say. Hope you are safe and well.
Thank you so much Sara, so glad I could help!!
I recently found several bright green envelopes in my closet and had no idea where they came from or what to do with them. Such a great idea. Thanks.

Thank you so much!
I know this is a video from a while back, but I love this journal and it's what I'm creating today. Your videos are the BEST! Thank you! 😊💐
I appreciated seeing an easy book being made & especially the fact that you hand-dyed your papers then embossed them before assembling. You allowed my imagination to design unlimited possibilities! Thank you, Natasha; simply lovely!
I'm so glad! Thank you Leslie :)
I made it along with you! Thank you for this! Enjoyed it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
About 20 years ago I had just discovered scrap booking. To do any embossing you had to hold a stencil down and use a scroll type pen with a metal ball on the end and trace every single detail from the stencil by pushing down hard into the paper. If you did it too hard there would be holes. 😬😂 Now days there are machines I haven't even tried. Its time for me to figure that out because it's so pretty even still 20 years later. 😊
Haha yes I still have some of those tools 😁
I love this project. Thank you for making this video.
Love this little journal! Thanks for sharing even the boo-boos!
I love how you don’t waste any thread. Beautiful.
Thank you 😊
Love your journal and it looks easy enough to make; thanks for sharing the how-to!
Thanks so much! 😊
J'ai suivi ce tuto avec beaucoup d'attention , j'aime merci .
