Her husband died in January and her brother died in Feb (i believe) that same year. She did this performance in March that same year. I think i got that right 🤔. She had a lot to process and accept. Very hard for her to do this. She still had to fulfill contracts and business obligations despite full-blown grieving. She is very strong and brave, my heart goes out to her 💔
She can't hear herself either. The sound system wasn't working properly. That's why she keeps putting her hand by her ear.

I actually cried watching this! At 3.32 you hear her voice crack and that's it, she looses it! So brave to sing this especially when renes passing was so raw, my favourite singer ever! So honest and truthful and doesn't hide her emotions x

What you clearly don’t know is Celine’s voice was also affected by SPS (Stiff Person Syndrome) spasms in her throat when her voice broke during the song. If you paid attention, you see her grab her throat and also adjust her ear piece. But Narcissist’s don’t see what other’s do and go through. Because it’s all about YOU. I recently lost my husband who was absolutely my soul mate and then lost my 50 year old son one month later and my life is so sad now, At least I know my sadness is normal. I am... or was convinced that my life was over too. But it isn't. I do know we will all be together one fine day
After death there isn't life, and that's nature, your life keep going same with me and the everybody, it doesn't change nothing obviously over thinking in the past, you have to take care of your present and future

I managed to get a selfie with her that night. It was one of the highlights of my life. Have so much respect for her! xxx

You can tell from almost the very beginning that she was trying to hard to keep it together, but it was so refreshing to see her just let it out on stage. Shows that celebrities are human just like the rest of us and that sometimes it’s ok to show your emotions. Bless you Celine! ❤️

wowwwww, what a performance. y'know i think she was holding back in the first half of the song -- probably because she knew she'd lose her composure if she let go. you can feel how reserved it was, almost half-hearted. but then at 2:53 you see her take a deep breath and you can almost see her decide f' it, she's not gonna hold it back, she's gonna commit, she's gonna give that climactic Eb all the power and emotion it deserves. and she does... and it's magnificent, cathartic, just perfection... but two seconds later the tsunami of emotion behind that note catches up to her and she weeps onstage. truly the performance of a lifetime. it's one of those cases where life mirrors art and the imperfection of the performance actually enhances its beauty.
like many others i found out about this through adam neely's video, which really opened my eyes to celine dion's grace and artistry. i'm ashamed to say i used to think of celine dion as a sappy singer of boomer songs. my god. she's so much more than that. i'm in tears just watching this. it made me happy to see half the audience rise to their feet to recognize the feat of artistry that was that high Eb, and the other half rise in support when she started to cry. i hope she felt the love from her audience, even if she felt so alone in that moment.

To watch her singing this is both a sad yet amazing music moment. Her strength and courage, love and loyalty to her husband her family and her fans is incredible. She did exactly what her husband Rene wanted her to do and that’s hers and his legacy after the one they leave their children. I think Rene would have been very proud of her ability to be their for her kids her family friends and fans. Let vet you Celine you go girl!
Celine Dion Is simply amazing, and not just because of her voice. She is one of the strongest women I have ever seen.
In case some people aren't aware, this woman also lost her brother to cancer within two days of her beloved Rene's death from cancer. Her oldest son was wise/mature beyond his 15 years.

Watching this again 5 years later having lost both my parents in 2017 within a month of each other, this is still so heartbreaking.
If I were there I would've wanted to hug her so bad. The pain and suffering she must've been through at the time, and still now, I mean, it's been less than a year

She's one of those few singers who've been in the public eye for decades and no one has anything bad to say about her at all, she's just adorable. Well the whole had always been judging her about him being too old for her and there being an uneven power balance between them. She had been fighting a lot to stay with him and tell the rest of the world that he was the one she wanted to be with. It was kind of a forbidden relationship should could not let go of. It's no wonder that when he died, she felt like the loneliest person in the whole word. He was probably everything she had to hold onto through out all the difficult times in her life. It must have been devastating to her.

Oh man okay bawling my eyes here now and its over 2 years later still, its almost excruciating to see someone hurting and not be able to comfort them but wow she powered through that and you know, its good she let her emotions go a bit. To keep it bottled up, even from her fans, doesn't help. I think its good for us, her fans, to recognize that she's human just like us and they go through heartbreak just like the rest of us. If I had gone though what she had, I wouldn't be on that stage. I'd still be heartbroken crying in bed. That's strength right there, no matter what.
As a metal head I have to say WOW she is incredible 👏 in every way. Her strength 💪 is admirable. Their love is the kind to tell through the generations. Rest Easy. Good speed.

I only saw ANY footage of his funeral and her after yesterday!! When we find our soulmate, their passing hurts every atom! Her strength at the funeral is unlike nothing I have seen with ONE exception: my grandmother, born during the Great Depression shed not a tear when my grandfather passed! Some are made Unsinkable like Molly Brown and Celine Dion! RIP RENEE!

Oh man, you can see her really fighting to not break down during the entire song. This is so heartbreaking. I don't know how she even got on that stage so soon afterwards, especially because her husband was with her from the first moment of her career. He dedicated his entire existence to her in every way, she'd never been without him. In the beginning I used to think he was creepy and predatory, but as the years went on it was plain to see he was just gone for her. They were genuine soulmates meant to be together. He didn't take advantage of her, he literally gave her the world just to make her happy. That's some powerful stuff right there. It's rare to see a real love story built upon such devotion, passion, and respect from both partners that stands the test of time. My heart still breaks for her.
