He pulled Torres and downgraded the defense in a tie game on the road... when you knew you were going to have to play defense in the bottom of an inning if you were going to have a chance to win. And he over-worked Weaver in a tie-game. And he then put in a pitcher that hadn't pitched in a month and a half, coming off an injury, who is a starter... when he had a reliever in Hill that has been great. If I'm Steinbrenner, Boone had better win the World Series or he's fired. Nothing worse than a panicky manager.
Boone thought he was getting a 100% Nestor by bringing him in, but Nestor hasn't pitched in a minute!!! Boone should have utilized Leiter, Gil, shoot Mayza but not Nestor! But to be 100%, if Cabrera makes that play on the infield play, potentially turn a double play, game is friggin over, we steal game 1!!!!

Boone went with a guy who had been injured for more than a month who is an above average pitcher but not a glorified ace over a guy who has allowed 1 earned run in 6 innings over this postseason and had a 3.3 era for the regular season who was also a lefty because somehow nestor matched up better? In what world does nestor match up better. Not that you cant pitch him this series but idk maybe bring him in a low leverage situation like the start of an inning first so he gets some feel back for playing the game. I don’t like walking the bases loaded, pitch in the dirt that gets away ties the game. That affects nestors pitch location selection to where Freddie elimates the possibility of Nestor pitching him down. Arm chair quarterbacking tbh but myself and family I was watching questioned that decision
