I was there and almost caught Freddie's walk-off ball! It went between me and my wife who was sitting to my right. I tried to backhand it with my glove but it was just out of reach. Second, you force Nester to throw strikes knowing if he walks anyone else, the game's over. Third, and most importantly, you piss off a very good hitter, giving him added motivation to come through. Lefty match up is a higher percentage for the lefty pitcher to win. You have to keep in mind Freddie hasn’t played for a while and has a hurt ankle, so the odds are in the Yankees favor. If you’re going to go down, you have to make the odds in your favor, but it was the right call match up wise but they messed up using Cortez a pitcher who hasn’t pitch in over a month.
