Watching a Spyder headlight bulb being changed is certainly good infirmation for the do-it-yourselfers, but being entertained with great commentary while watching the job is a bonus, good job Coach Bob !!

I did the HID / LED headlight and fog light upgrade like 2 weeks after we got the Spyder because one of the headlights gave up. Like you, I was super nervous. It worked out fine but I took a few learnings:
1. got myself a T-handle Torx wrench set (~16$ Amazon). Just makes life so much easier and I learned that light bulbs in the front are a consumable.
2. I investigate the YT world prior to any new Spyder job that i never did before.
3. verify the YT information before going head over heels into the project as your machine might be different from the one used in the YT video. For the fog light replacement, I learned that on the left side I have the hose for the breather. That made it nearly impossible to get the light bulb out/in without taking the whole front end apart as it was so tight in there. Man, was I angry lol
4. use a cable clamp or similar tool to keep the turn signal cable from falling into the hole (ask me why I think about this now hahahaha).
5. head light connectors have a polarity. if you mess that up - 50 / 50 chance - the light won't work and you think they sent you a broken lamp lol
The grease on the push pins is a great tip, thanks so much. And yeah, like you, I need to swear at the first, tiny opportunity, as loud as I can. Just belongs to the job hahaha
Maybe a tip for you for checking the brake lights: take a white large paper and hold it in front of the brake light to see if it works while you push the brake pedal. Contortion is not good for older folks like us ;-)

Oh man... that's a great idea on the clamp to hold onto the turn signal wires while the mirrors are off. I'm always worried those are gonna snake back into the hole while I'm working on it. Thanks!
This was the very first mod I did on my '19 F3L - switch out the lights for LED. I agree, the first time you remove the panels you're extremely cautious in thinking you're about to break something.
Things like this are why I'm waiting to trade my Ryker in for an F3. For the cost of the vehicle, there should be LEDs all around and more included running lights for better night recognition from other vehicles. I should not have to spend another $1k to upgrade lighting on a $20-30k bike. And when the salesman says that BRP Connect interface has issues and is not very useful on a brand new $30k RT limited, I wonder if BRP is listening to their customers. Great video again. Looking forward to seeing your adventure to trike fest.
You DO know what you're doing 😂... Great job...hubby and his brothers just upgraded my F3 headlights to LED...I wanted to do a video, but there was too much cussing to bleep out... Guess they should have watched Coach Bob's video first.. There were no tools flying at least😂

Glad you put this out. I ordered LED headlights from Lamonster a couple of months ago, along with an external USB connector for my console. Figured while I had the plastic off, I’d do both. Now I’ve got a handy step-by-step guide to do this. Already installed the Magic Mirrors, and I’m about to add the handlebar end weights and mesh screens for the front air intakes.
I think I’m going to stay away from other lighting add-ons for now because Mr. Smoak strongly recommends doing so. But the headlights seemed a tad weak to me for SoCal freeways, and I like livin.’
Going to ride up to Canada in the Spring, and I’m really looking forward to it.

Coach Bob, Thank you for showing us how to change a headlight on the spyder an thanks for telling us that you should not touch the Halogen bulb. I would suggest using nitrile gloves when change Halogen bulbs. Thanks for all the great videos. Enjoy life!!!

That's weird .. in Australia the low beam is seperate down on the frunk area .Blacked out on yours.

Thank you for this video. Our 2018 RTL had a headlight burn out. I was not sure about replacing myself but watching this eased my fears. Took some time but my granddaughter and I did it. Replaced both! Heading to Spyder Rally in Magee Valley in Oct. and not worried now about getting it to dealer to fix. 😊

Middle of the night, middle of nowhere OREGON. Change a headlight? Right!!!!!!!! That’s why new girl has LEDs from day three. Nice thing about having a can am mech. For a neighbor. I did the work. He was there for back up.
LEDs are certainly the way to go.
When I had the 2015 RTS I done both headlights and the fog lights which requires removing the frunk. Nothing on that Spyder was easy. My 21' RTL Marsala is much easier to change oil than the 15' RTS.

That was my first thought. After looking into everything, I think it’s coincidental that it was the right side.

Hey Coach Bob! I just bought a 2013 RT-S SE5 two weeks ago and I'm lovin' it! I've been going through your videos and enjoying them all. I have a question about the adjustment nut on the headlights. You just stuck them back in there and were good to go. I was assuming you'd have to readjust the headlight aiming after removing/replacing the bulb. I guess that's not the case? Thanks!

If you touch the glass of the bulb, that will cause them to fail prematurely.
Coach, I’ve ask this before, but I think you thought I was teasing, how are you starting your Spyder without putting your foot on the brake? Seriously.
I hope Coach Bob doesn't mind me answering this, if the Spyder is in Neutral when you shut it off, it will start when you turn it on without putting your foot on the brake. If the Spyder is NOT in Neutral when you shut it off, you WILL have to put your foot on the brake when you start it up. It then will automatically shift itself into Neutral when you start it up.
I'm not sure this applies to all the older Spyder models though.
