Birdie- all this walking you’re doing is actually strengthening your knees 👏🏻♥️. You’re doing it the right way too; slow and steady. Not overdoing it. Trust and believe that you will be thankful in just a couple short months. Ps. These places you’re going to and the views are AMAZING 🤩 THANK YOU for sharing ❤
Birdie, you have such a lovely singing voice, and a delightful sense of humor. And your videography is really getting good! And I have the same irrational fear about public pit toilets. Strangely not private outhouses. The human mind is just ridiculous. 😂 As for bears…remember thousands of people hike in those woods, if not tens of thousands, every year and actual bear attacks are extremely rare. The odds are in your favor. Enjoy the life!
It warms my heart to see you out there enjoying the parks and scenery. Nature has a healing property that can't be put into words and you are focusing on your best life by exploring. Van life is not easy, but it IS one of the best ways to explore. May you continue to be blessed by your journey. ❤️
Each of your videos remind me to stop and relish the little things so good on you for that! It seems like this trip to the NW has been very therapeutic for you. When you get back to your starting point, you should do a reflective video on your travels and how they impacted you mentally and physically. I see positive growth and hope that's the case. Like the bangs!
Birdie… I went back, and watched your first video, and came back to watch this video again. You are a whole new lady. I know you still have the well, and am know the days are hard, but you glow with a new found light. Nature looks good on you, and although I don’t know your heart I believe in mine that you feel better, and are happier🥰🥰🥰. I hope that is true my dear, and wonderful internet friend❤️
Great choice of itinerary! 👍😀 Don't waste your money on bear spray. Bear spray might be good to have if you hike in Alaska or in backcountry Glacier National Park in Montana. PCT hikers who hike through Washington State through very wild areas do not carry bear spray. Also it might not be as easy to use bear spray as one might think: if the wind is in the wrong direction, you might get the spray back over you. Also you have to be pretty close to the bear so that it's efficient! The best is to go to the ranger station where you plan your hike (even a short hike), and ask them if there are bears. Ranger stations are in my opinion a 'must visit' when arriving to a National Park: they will answer to all your questions, and most of the time, provide with information you didn't know about like a better view point, etc. They always gave me some pretty cool tips, for instance I didn't know you could hike backcountry in Arches NP, but it is in fact possible. Or where to find water if you plan to camp in primitive campsites (and if there is actually water at the water source). The hiking poles look awesome! Looking forward to seeing your vid from Crater Lake NP, which imo, is absolutely stunning! 🌞💟
Birdie, you are so special. I find myself smiling as soon as I see your sweet face pop up with a new video. You are truly a gift to those of us who follow you. 🥰💖

I've been watching since your first video at the start of the year. The fall colors have been grabbing my attention the past couple weeks. Better every day! We drove up Pikes Peak last weekend looking at the colors as the aspens change. i love your guided tours to the joys of life 💚 and about bears: yes, bear encounters happen and also, your chances of running into one are minuscule, especially on trails that are regularly traveled by humans. i’ve lived in alaska for thirty years and am an avid berry picker. only once have i heard what was most likely the woof of a grizzly, in the spruce forest where my friend and i were picking. she heard it too and we just continued talking as we exited the area. talking and singing are our favorite bear deterrents, i’ve never worn bells but a can of bear spray is good to have on hand. keep in mind that most grizzlies prefer to avoid human interactions too. 💚

Just as I was thinking, "why, Birdie, why, don't go near the cliffs" and I was feeling quite faint. Then you come in with how you feel shakey just looking at it. Phew! I had visions of you going over! Also, I use knee supports to help my knees feel stable when walking, works really well as I have dodgy knees also. I just buy cheap ones, they do the same job😊
Birdie, you are refreshing, entertaining, loved, you need to realise your limits without judgement, seeing the beauty in the world is a great talent, we are lucky, you are extremely lucky, stay safe, don't get chewed on a bear! 💙

I'm always convinced I'm going to drop something into the pit toilet. Also! Loved seeing you around Mt. Hood, my birth mom lives up there and she loves so many of the spots you've been to and brought me to some of them too (like Trillium Lake!) when I visited her. Love your channel Birdie and your relentlessly positive attitude, you inspire me to keep going when things get hard, that we never know what good things might be on the other side of what feels like "the end of our life". I'm going through a rough time in life and your videos help me feel hope for the future
Oh Oregon, my Oregon!!❤❤❤❤❤
I'm so so happy you finally got some trekking poles!!!
I'd be interested to know if you feel that they help with your knees.
Stay safe.
😁
Thank for sharing with us! The fall colors are beautiful!
I think the walking sticks will help! But im sure the fresh air and walking walking is also helping! You are glowing my friend! And i love the bangs! Stay safe!❤️❤️👍👍👍
Oh my gosh! How beautiful Birdie! Ty! For sharing!
I can’t wait to see the poles in action, I’ve really been interested in trying them. Great video, thank you!
Thank you for being my bright spot today... It's been a day ❤
I'm so sorry to hear you're having a rough day!! I hope it gets better soon, sweet friend.
@@WaywardAbode it already has... ❤❤❤
@@WaywardAbode oh yeah... I decided to try hiking poles too! I'm hoping my Dad will want to try them, and if they work for him, I'll get him a pair, as well
What I always wonder at pit toilets is how many phones people have dropped down there, lol! 😂😂😂 Don't know if you realize it, but you are GLOWING these days! Great to see you so happy! Good job being cautious about the knees. I'm sitting here with two bad hips AND a glitchy knee, so...word to the wise. Be safe out there! 😊😊😊
Thank you for this beautiful video, Birdie. Because of my heath, I am not going to be able to go and see the changing of the colors…..the awesome red and orange and yellow leaves. So thank you for this!! Glad your walking poles arrived!! Stay safe!!
Glad to see you on another great adventure, Birdie. 😊

Hi Birdie! Beautiful footage, as usual! I've seen people jingle their car keys to alert bears to your presence also. Can't wait for your next vlog. ❤

Super cute bangs! Welcome to Bend!
LOL - I thought I was the only one with a phobia about pit toilets. I also have to call someone if I need to "shudder" take the lid off the toilet tank at home. Seriously though, good to hear you are taking care with your knees. Hugs.
Love, love, love, this. Beautiful.
Thank you so much! 🥰
