Haha cheers but I was working then, just a controlled effort that was easier than the 54321 and helped me get going again for second set! Did have some real recoveries too for sure!
I had a go with these on the treadmill at the national running show (heavier mid foot striker ) they put a smile on my face , Mizuno are on to something here.
I’m very excited about this. I used to wear Mizuno exclusively but they were too slow off the mark for carbon plated shoes and I switched to Saucony. I would definitely give these a try and they are a lot cheaper than the Saucony Endorphin Elite too.
Love the colorway. Glad to hear they fit to size (heard they were tweaking) The maxstack is exactly where I need to land for decent stride length. Can't wait!!!!
Oh my lord I hope these can be found in Australia 😔 a diverse range of proper running shoes is pretty lacking here, struggle to find Deviate Nitro’s let alone Mizuno’s. Praying to the running Gods… 🛐🛐🛐
Re: heel to toe drop: it actually is 5mm from where the heel is, but of course there’s a much bigger drop from the midfoot to the toe. Mizuno found a cheeky way to get around the regs. The midfoot is actually 50mm thick, but since the heel and forefoot are under the 40mm legal limit, it’s still a “race legal” shoe.
For anyone concerned about sizing - I tried both the standard release white/orange colourway and the Kakizome one featured here - I found the standard release true to size in my usual US men’s 10.5, but the Kakizome ran a half size short (as I’d heard from a number of reviewers), so I needed an 11. Both versions are available at Sportitude here in Australia.
I always think forget the US and UK sizing and go for Euro standard (44.5 in my case) meaning Asics, Saucony are both 9.5 for instance and Mizuno and New Balance are 10.
Sounds really promising, personally I’m not crazy on the design but I’m sure there will be other designs in time. Keen to hear the full review with comparisons.
I tried these at the National running show too, wish I could remember what size I tried on, but I LOVED them! Wondering if this could be my first marathon shoe… 🫣 *covers the ears of my Saucony EP3s*
Thanks for the video. I am a heel striker looking to improve, hence the interest in this shoe. I would be very interested in a comparison to the adios pro 3 and prime x strung. Do you think you could go for long run on these?
Apparently, the pre-production samples you have (ink blot colorway) is running a little small. The actual production is said to be a bit more proper TTS fit.
Thanks for the very nice review! Can you please compare it to the prime x? Which is more fun to run , which is more stable and which one of the 2 do you believe is more efficient for marathon racing? Thank you.
Bit of context, I have wide feet and tried these at the national running show and they felt sublime. Only for a short period mind, but no issues faced at all - actually felt wider than some others that I’ve worn so I’d probably say you need to get’em on foot first to really know!
I say this again with absolute concern for you, as a keen channel follower I plead - why do you think your knee is playing up now?.. ((heel striking)) hurts knees long term.. so try to become at least a mid foot runner for your body if not for your desire..ok All the best for this year good luck running..😊
Hi John, my knee is hurting because I jumped into a radiator, it's nothing to do with my running style. Please don't be concerned about me! I've spoken to many expert physios about running through my work, and they don't agree with you about heel-striking. All the best to you too!
I’ve seen most of his videos and he’s always heel striking from my pov so I’d also say it’s the missing chunk bit at the heel that forces the foot to roll and hide the heel impact . But these are trippy 😂 the design makes you double take lol
@E V 16 agree. Normally looks like he heel strikes. Doesn't seem to do his results any harm, mind you!! I wonder is the trippy colour scheme meant to confuse the opposition??😉
I would buy them if they are going to help me run faster in a race. Alphafly is not exactlty a very nice-looking shoe either but works for me. Function over looks. They wouldn't be my causal shoes.
I guess we all have our own preference. Remember when Skechers came up with the zebra colourway in its prototype and everyone was asking for it to be in their production model? That's how the 'cloak' colourway came about. Personally, I prefer this colourway. Just a little background info on this colourway from 'Fleet Feet' website... The black and white unisex colorway is inspired by Kakizome, the Japanese tradition of writing your New Year resolution in calligraphy. Incorporated into the design are the Japanese characters that translate into personal best. These characters are humbly camouflaged by ink splatters and brush strokes. It is said that when you write down your goals, you are more likely to achieve them.
Let's put the shoe on the side for a moment, man, you are a beast. 3:45 active recovery is something I can only get on the bike 😅

@@elisantiago I went have a size up (9.5uk) and that was fine for me.

Absolutely love the look of these, when I have to hang up the Alpha Flys, I'll have to consider the Mizuno!

They’re already available in Australia on several sites. $320
Deviate nitros are easy to find at running warehouse or puma website in Australia. There isn't an issue of sizes thankfully

Mizuno designers making these:
"You know everything we normally do when making our shoes?...yeah let's absolutely change everything !"
😅

there's another one out, its pretty plain, just white with a bit of orange

Sounds very promising, indeed.
Good review, thanks. Do you think these are too much for short races (5k, 10k)?
They’d still be fast for those for sure. Not great on tight corners though
Looks great. Planning to use Adidas Adizero Adiós Pro3 for autumn marathon but open to other options if better. So Mixuno could be that option maybe?!
Maybe! Adios also a great shoe. Will have more detailed comparisons in the full review :)
@@TheRunTesters Lovely first impression video. Could you compare Mizuno WR Pro to Endo Elite as well? Thanks!!!
Thanks for the review! Actually I'm more interested in your headband than in the shoes tho 😁 how's it called?
Haha it’s the Proviz Reflect360 Explore headband
Thanks so much for your reply 😁👍

Thanks for another great review.
If heel striking with a no-heel shoe, did your achilles feel extra stress?
No issues at all today, but I’ll keep looking out for this ahead of full review as I wondered if that would happen myself
Thanks for the very nice review!
Can you please compare it to the prime x?

Thank you.
How are they compared to Hoka? Looks similar
Hoka don’t really have a carbon shoe that has bounce like this, yet anyway! Rocket x2 seems promising
Look a great shoe and a better value option that the Endorphin Elite, got way too many carbon race shoes to even consider buying a pair though...🤣
Love the colour way but I fear I’d never get into it. I don’t have a wide foot but need a wide toe box 😢

No Bird Watching!
Absolutely not!

Shouldn't the tree, that you always lovingly place your new models on, be given a name? Derek, or Jeff for instance.
Video: says he’s a heel striker
Also video: shows footage of definitely not heel striking. 😂
Looks more midfoot in a shoe with no heel I guess haha!
You dont really look like you're heel striking in those altho maybe thats cos the chunk knocked out of the back

@@gilleek2 that would be hilarious if mizuno did that for an ad 😆
Not sure this'll allow you stay on your heel long..
Do you have makeup on your eyelashes?
Haha no!?
That shoe looks horrendous! Who would buy those?!
Each to their own!
@@TheRunTesters I would have to question the mental health of anyone who buys those. 😂
@@BikeLife154What a bizarre statement. I would buy them. I love the colourway
@@brianogrady9883 I find it equally bizarre that anyone would buy such a shoe.

Man, this colorway is a bit ugly lol. I did hear good things about this shoe, so would love to try em soon.
There’s a nice (and quite normal) white colour too I think!

I think it’s cool. Almost like a camo that helps hide blemishes versus a pristine white pair you’d be afraid to scuff
