Metro will be extremely successful if they plan for Katraj-Balewadi stadium-Wakad-Tathawade-Punawale-Ravet metro along bypass(intersection point will be at Wakad). They don’t really need to acquire land as its under NHAI. Most of the people working in Hinjawadi, Baner, Balewadi, Shivaji Nagar resides along this patch. This should be on top priority if govt really want to solve traffic issues.

I work in Hinjawadi phase 3 since 15 years and I do not know a single person who comes to phase 3 from Shivaji nagar, kalyani nagar, modern colony, university area, etc today. I may have come across maybe 3-4 people who did this but not anymore. Half of the metro route goes thru commercial, educational zone wasting the capacity. People going to Hinjawadi primarily reside in wakad, Saudagar, sangavi, Pimpri-Chinchwad and ravet and there’s no metro there
Metro DPR for all existing lines is based on 2008 survey which was revised & approved back in 2015. Wait for another decade or half you'll get metro in mentioned areas considering current speed of execution..
Please note that the metro only needs to work on paper it is just for re-election of the political party. You may just go and sleep in a ditch somewhere for all they care. Please learn from Bangladesh

Do not agree. Metro will not solve issue of reducing cars. Cars need to be disincentivised heavily. Roads need to be maintained to top quality. The commercial outlets you see on every nook and corner need to be curbed heavily. Driving license system needs a complete overhaul. Urban planning needs to get precedence.

I live in Lohegaon last 12 Years, we DO NOT have street roads till now!, POWER CUT 2-3 hours everyday. The connecting main roads - Porwal road, Lohegaon road and Dhanori roads are only with POTHOLES. HIGH CORRUPTION - BJP / SHIV SENA = NO DEVELOPMENT WORK IN PUNE.
Pay taxes for this useless Metro in this unplanned city. Go to office in this traffic to pay more taxes. Income Tax payers need separate state or separate country.
There is also no social responsibility in politicians or administration staff, and civic or traffic sense in people, only those who have returned from onsite can understand how to follow lanes and be patient for other person in traffic
Metro is only solution for Pune, We must complete Hinjewadi to Kharadi connectivity on priority basis.
